- "Six Million Steps" is a documentary film that chronicles the lives of hikers during their adventure on the Pacific Crest Trail, which spans 2,650 miles, the length of the U.S. Pacific coast. From Mexico to Canada, the Pacific Crest Trail winds through three states, seven national parks, 25 national forests, and elevations ranging from sea level to nearly 14,000 feet. Each year, 300-400 "thru-hikers" attempt to hike border to border, and, in doing so, experience pain, hunger, elation, loneliness, regret and fear. They leave behind their everyday lives, their families, their homes, their jobs and their friends to sleep outside with only the items they carry on their backs. But in leaving, they arrive at something greater: Life stripped to its core Life as a journey in the truest sense of the word Life as transformation This is the story of those hikers, what they were looking for, and what they find. 165 days 2,650 miles 6,000,000 steps
- DirectorLisa DienerFollow a handful of diverse hikers as they walk 2,663 miles along the Pacific Crest Trail. They begin in April at the U.S. Mexico border and battle their way through bone-dry deserts in Southern California, icy mountain passes in the High Sierra and the torrential rains of the Pacific Northwest. 5 months later, they may reach their final destination in Canada. Equipped with cameras to record their video journals, they give us an insider's view into what it takes to spend half a year living in the wild. From Billygoat (chronic hiker and John Muir look-alike) to Scott Williamson (the world's greatest endurance athlete that no one's ever heard of), their collective tales illustrate the power of wilderness to transform, renew and inspire.

From the former Mongol capital Karakorum to the Danube, Tim retraced the path of the first nomads and followed the route taken by legendary Genghis Khan as he forged his great empire. Over three and a half gruelling years, and guided by an old Kazakh wisdom - "to understand the wolf, you must put on the skin of a wolf and look through its eyes" - Tim lived just as the ancient nomads did. The extreme challenges gave Tim empathy and insight into the nomadic way of life, and as a young man growing up, the journey became a personal rite of passage. At the end of his journey, Tim arrived on the Danube having achieved the first crossing of the steppe in modern times.
