X-Men Ranking
From accuracy to the comics and its essence to cinematic and superheroic themes and action scenes. Although already viewed as perhaps not the most source material accurate from the very beginning, there are some very nice stories and characters protrayed on this very long and mixed saga.

- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartHugh JackmanIan McKellenIn a world where mutants (evolved super-powered humans) exist and are discriminated against, two groups form for an inevitable clash: the supremacist Brotherhood, and the pacifist X-Men.To be honest, without 1 and 2 (and even 3), the rest of the subsequent franchise sequels would have not have the impact they had without the characters and tone these ones begun. And solely for that purpose I have placed them higher in the list even though they might not be the best.
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartHugh JackmanHalle BerryWhen anti-mutant Colonel William Stryker kidnaps Professor X and attacks his school, the X-Men must ally with their archenemy Magneto to stop him.Like Spider-Man 2 did for the Saimi trilogy, this one improved upon the backdrop, themes and characters presented in X1, only doing it better.
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartIan McKellenHugh JackmanThe X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. My favorite X-Men movie. It merged the original trilogy with the newer one in an engaging and enthralling way. I am a sucker for time travel movies and this one has very epic scenes, dialogue and messages. I have zero complaints about this one but I think I enjoy it as much because of the good work done on the ones that came before it. Like Avengers Endgame, it's more enjoyable when you take into account the journey to that one, like a season finale of a show. A great send-off to the old and a welcomed addition to the new
- DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1960s, superpowered humans Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr work together to find others like them, but Erik's vengeful pursuit of an ambitious mutant who ruined his life causes a schism to divide them. The BEST X-Men origin movie of the bunch. It came at a time where the franchise wasn't so concerned about being realistic and somber and embraced the comicbook campiness a little bit. It rewrites a lot of characters but they stick quite well. A must see for those who have never watched the older ones but want to get a good taste of how it is in the comics.
- DirectorJames MangoldStarsHugh JackmanPatrick StewartDafne KeenIn a future where mutants are nearly extinct, an elderly and weary Logan leads a quiet life. But when Laura, a mutant child pursued by scientists, comes to him for help, he must get her to safety. As a massive Wolverine fan, this movie is the masterful epic send-off to Jackman's portrayal, legacy and work and dedication this character had on the entire franchise. Surely most of the times the franchise focused too much on him than in other main characters from the team, but it was for a reason. Back then people weren't really to see a big ensemble of heroes so they needed a sole main character as proxy through which to navigate this world. And so he did till the end, it's a pitty the story begun here cant be explored further (or is it?...)
- DirectorTim MillerStarsRyan ReynoldsMorena BaccarinT.J. MillerA wisecracking mercenary gets experimented on and becomes immortal yet hideously scarred, and sets out to track down the man who ruined his looks. Not really really an X-Men movie, but it has X-Men characters. It's funny, engaging and just about what you'd expect from an almost arthouse superhero movie. For the low budget it had, it shows that the people behind it gave it their all and I'm glad it payed off.
- DirectorJames MangoldStarsHugh JackmanWill Yun LeeTao OkamotoWolverine comes to Japan to meet an old friend whose life he saved years ago, and gets embroiled in a conspiracy involving yakuza and mutants.I'm just a sucker for Wolverine. It is my favorite X-Men and one of my favorite superheroes. I really enjoy Jackman's portrayal and the direction of James Mangold in this movie. I believe it is very underrated in terms of rating (should be higher than 6,7) and it only fails at the very very end with a cliche horrid CGI robot fight. The rest of the movie has great action, great story and characters, and a surprisingly decently developed romance.
- DirectorDavid LeitchStarsRyan ReynoldsJosh BrolinMorena BaccarinFoul-mouthed mutant mercenary Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Deadpool) assembles a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy with abilities from the brutal, time-traveling cyborg Cable.
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1980s the X-Men must defeat an ancient all-powerful mutant, En Sabah Nur, who intends to thrive through bringing destruction to the world. The beginning of the end... This movie only gets any engagement thanks to their very interesting characters. But unfortunately, the premise and story they were trying to tell was a good one but wasn't executed as well as it could have. Also, for some reason the special effects and some action sequences are just too corny and look low-budget. Also, very weak characterisation is given to almost every character here.
- DirectorGavin HoodStarsHugh JackmanLiev SchreiberRyan ReynoldsThe early years of James Logan, featuring his rivalry with his brother Victor Creed, his service in the special forces team Weapon X, and his experimentation into the metal-lined mutant Wolverine.AN abomination and an insult to superhero movies. It has good elements here and there, some nice characters, the love story was interesting too (until it wasn't) but between the special effects and action scenes to the destruction of character backstories; and the unnecesary story it was being told here. This movie can be almost completely skipped. You'd only find enjoyment in it if you are a massive Wolverine fan and would see anything with him in it (like I am)
- DirectorBrett RatnerStarsPatrick StewartHugh JackmanHalle BerryThe human government develops a cure for mutations, and Jean Grey becomes a darker uncontrollable persona called the Phoenix who allies with Magneto, causing escalation into an all-out battle for the X-Men.Even though it butchered unceremoniously the work begun by 1 and 2, and even though the script and some other elements (like character/costume design) are atrocious, the first half is engaging and sets up a very interesting premise. However, basically butchering the execution of it at the end.
- DirectorSimon KinbergStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceJean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix, causing the X-Men to have to decide if her life is worth more than all of humanity.Retracing the wrong steps of the past. It is atrocious and a complete waste of time and characters. It's so obvious Jennifer Lawrence wanted out, the new X-Men kids are not fleshed out properly, and the villain on the movie is the most plain stereotypical one you can have. A waste of the actual send-off to Fox's X-Men franchise (or is it...)
