Golden Unicorn Award - Nominees 2021
The Golden Unicorn Awards™ reflect the cross-cultural mission of our festival, bridging together the English-speaking world and the Russian people. A unicorn is well known as one of the symbols of the United Kingdom and is found on the Royal coat of arms.
A less known fact is that the unicorn also appeared alongside St. George on the Russian coat of arms in the 16th century. For us this mythical animal, that appears only to the chosen few, represents the connection between Russia and Britain across time and cultures.
Our esteemed International Jury awards the best and most creative Russian talent, whilst our Russian Jury celebrates and marks the achievements of international filmmakers in creating films with a Russian connection. Every year, we convene for a charitable gala awards ceremony in London, UK, to honour our nominated filmmakers.
