- DirectorPete DocterBob PetersonStarsEdward AsnerJordan NagaiJohn Ratzenberger78-year-old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his house equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway.PIXAR. This movie is perfect in so many ways. First of all, it made me cry within the first 10 minutes which I think is an almost impossible feat by a simple movie. It shows me a beautiful bond by two people and then proceeds to reference it constantly throughout the movie reminding me of the past (a good thing) this movie has incredible storytelling and a clever twist. It is a very wild plot, but we are settled into it so amazingly. Soon enough we are watching several hundred dogs chase a man with a floating house, a Boy Scout, a talking dog and a mysterious random bird. And the leader of these dogs is a man gone rogue/crazy who was once the idol of Carl and Ellie. I find that Russell confides in Carl because he never had a proper father figure. And Carl loves Russell deeply because he never got to have children of his own. The villain is one of the most creative I’ve ever seen. He was an idol. They bonded over him and fell in love. But when they finally meet him he is a crazy mean guy who kills for fortune. This movie makes me cry for sadness and happiness. Carl goes crazy trying to complete the one goal him and Ellie had. But he has to learn to move on and that love is in the moment. We can look on the last but we must love who we have now and where we are. I think one of the most important moments in this movie is when Carl sits down in his newly placed home, completely alone, and he reflects on “The adventure book” that Ellie made. Further proof that he only thinks about what he wants and how to replicate what he had. But he never looked past the “things I’m going to do” part. Because it had pictures of him and Ellie all through it. And at the end it has a note form Ellie. “Thanks for the adventure - now go have a new one!” This made me ball my eyes out. This could not be more of a sign that the real Ellie wouldn’t want him to pursue their goals, but would want him to continue on with his life and have new adventures. Beautiful. And the book changed him so much that he threw out a bunch of chairs and photos and memorabilia from his and Ellie’s life. Showing us that he had moved on. INCREDIBLE. And then the cherry on top, his house floats away and it symbolises him moving on from Ellie. THEN CARL GOES TO HIS CEREMONY AND GIVES HIM ELLIES GRAPE SODA PIN I CANT. This is a brilliant movie and like it or not, it’s better than onward. MADE ME CRY SO HARD.
- DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.PIXAR. This movie would well and truly be a 10/10 if it wasn’t… so sad. Inside is a masterpiece of writing. It connects with me so deeply because I feel that the things in that movie could happen to me. I feel as if my mind is a huge inescapable world. I hear rumours of an inside out 2 and I would probably like that better because I don’t think it would have themes of loss of family. Not to say that the ending was bad at all. It was brilliant. A perfect tie-together. I really like how so many things don’t go to plan. Nothing is predictable, especially in the mind of a young teen. The characters are obviously simple, and I will admit that I do complain about not enough character depth in movies, but character depth isn’t needed in this movie. This movie is more of a case study of Riley and her mind. The characters all make up her. The movie uses techniques like happiness, that makes me even sadder. I love my family more than I love anything on earth. This would be higher than onward, if my reflection counted. Because I feel the after thoughts and feelings of this movie is more of a tear jerker than the actual piece. Inside makes me want to hug my mum and my friends. Which is not a feeling I wanna get on a very late Wednesday night. the real difference between the crying on Up, vs Inside Out, is that I cried a lot more watching up, because of the constant references to love and death. But nothing that happens in up will happen to me anytime soon, maybe not at all. But the crying in Inside Out was more intense and left a real feeling behind. I could one day decide I hate my mum because we moved and I could run away and NOT face the ending that Riley did. What would happen to me? How could I deal with it? I wouldn’t. Because I don’t have the ability to see my emotions chat to each other. This movie is about learning that sadness is needed to feel happiness, and that all emotions go hand in hand. Love this masterpiece. MADE ME CRY
- DirectorDan ScanlonStarsTom HollandChris PrattJulia Louis-DreyfusIn a magical world full of technological advances, elven brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot set out on an adventure to resurrect their late father for a day.PIXAR I wanna tell you i ugly cried when i watched this movie. i cried the first time because the portrayal of just a fathers legs had as much emotion as the real dad could, then i cried because of how badly ian wanted to meet his dad (like me) then i cried the hardest at the end. I cried because he never got to meet his dad, but i cried because his brother filled that role in his life for him. I am crying writing this and i am a mess. this movie does a wonderful show of a family reunited. But it added a simple twist of the supernatural, which turned this 5 into a 10. beautifully written and although some cliche characters, the main brothers have got a bond, and as we have just learnt, that is the most important thing you could have. definetly the best character chris pratt has ever played. the single reason I rank this 10/10 while they (vulture) rank this 19/27, is how this movie speaks to me, not only making me cry but resonating with me in a way that bugs life couldnt. i love my sister and i want to see my dad. MADE ME CRY
- DirectorJosh CooleyStarsTom HanksTim AllenAnnie PottsWhen a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy.PIXAR. I’m in love with this movie. First of all, it’s beautiful, it’s so damn beautiful. The colours, the lights, freaking hell the grass is even perfect. It’s so realistic. And then you have the plot. It’s amazing, it’s got a lot of depth when you think about it. A toy who never asked for sentience, a toy who doesn’t wanna be loved vs a toy who 1. Wants to be the favourite 2. Wants the best for the kid and 3. Misses their old kid dearly. Then we meet Bo peep and things just get crazy. This movie is filled with different unique plot points and characters. A love between two toys. I love this movie. (Sorry Mrs Brosnan, I don’t like Toy Story 1) also this move is quite funny, its humour is perfect for its scenario and movie. It surprises me what the toys say and makes me chuckle. Can I just say again how beautiful this movie is? So well animated
- DirectorDomee ShiStarsRosalie ChiangSandra OhAva MorseA thirteen-year-old girl named Mei Lee is torn between staying her mother's dutiful daughter and the changes of adolescence. And as if the challenges were not enough, whenever she gets overly excited she transforms into a giant red panda.PIXAR. A masterpiece. A coming of age story mixed with a friendship story mixed with fantasy. Her relationship with her mum is one seen in many. But how it explores it, is amazing. She only wants the best for Mei but she can’t speak up and tell her how she really feels about her mother. I relate to this movie all too well.
- DirectorAngus MacLaneStarsChris EvansKeke PalmerPeter SohnWhile spending years attempting to return home, marooned Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear encounters an army of ruthless robots commanded by Zurg who are attempting to steal his fuel source.PIXAR Quite funny and I do really like the idea of space but there was so much going on I had no idea which idea was the main one. But I really liked the fact there is a lesbian in it. Crazy how the people around him aged and grew up while he stayed the same. Plus Taika Waititi is in it!!!! The cat makes everything so much funnier.
- DirectorPete DocterDavid SilvermanLee UnkrichStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanMary GibbsIn order to power the city, monsters have to scare children so that they scream. However, the children are toxic to the monsters, and after a child gets through, two monsters realize things may not be what they think.PIXAR. This movie is perfect. It has everything. The zany and unique characters. The forming relationships. The strange but comforting plot. Beautiful timing and sequencing. And THE VILLIAN. Mr Waternoose being the hero and then the villain was amazing. I loved the plot because it twists reality and shows us a different side. I have watched this before but I love it. So creative. MADE ME CRY
- DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home.PIXAR. Lovely movie. I was wrong. I do hate Toy Story (1) but Toy Story 3 is an absolute delight. Who knew a movie about sentient toys could be so deep and different. There are many funny characters and jokes that are for all ages. I love this plot about the daycare and how the characters actually age. The real point behind these Toy Story movies is learning how to move on. Learning that love is in the moment. With the ones who you have now. Perfect! It took me a few movies but I’m crying at this kid finally moving on. MADE ME CRY
- DirectorJohn LasseterAsh BrannonLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackWhen Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends set out on a rescue mission to save Woody before he becomes a museum toy property with his roundup gang Jessie, Prospector, and Bullseye.PIXAR I actually don’t mind this movie. I do think I was a little harsh when I said how shit Toy Story was. But this movie is creative. The visuals are better (even though the humans still look disgusting) and the characters have a little depth and personality. It’s kinda funny. Whoops I meant it’s SO FUNNY. I like this movie a lot. Weird.
- DirectorLee UnkrichAdrian MolinaStarsAnthony GonzalezGael García BernalBenjamin BrattAspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.
PIXAR. A pleasant movie to watch. Very pretty and the music is nice. That’s about it. It’s boring. There are no characters I truly like. They are just puzzle pieces. Wild twist that the boy looked up to a murderer his whole life. I love movies that paint the villain as the hero or vice versa (up). And the OTHWR TWIST???!!! Hector is related to Miguel. Wow. A beautiful movie. MADE ME CRY - DirectorAndrew StantonStarsBen BurttElissa KnightJeff GarlinIn the distant future, a small waste-collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.PIXAR. This movie is beautiful. Somehow depicts love, danger, and a sincere message across to its viewers without being annoying. I will admit it is a little strong when it comes across with its message but it’s a kids movie. I cried at this movie very hard. I do like it. MADE ME CRY
- DirectorBrad BirdJan PinkavaStarsBrad GarrettLou RomanoPatton OswaltA rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant.PIXAR. I like this movie. The reversal of roles is smart and the fact that the rat is better at cooking than the human. There’s not much else I can say about this movie. It’s funny and witty, while still giving us a smart plot and pacing. It’s got good gags and keeps me on the edge of my seat at times.
- DirectorPeter SohnStarsJeffrey WrightFrances McDormandMaleah Nipay-PadillaIn a world where dinosaurs and humans live side-by-side, an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend.PIXAR This is a very simple movie. But it works so well. A small dino works for his family but fails and gets lost, as his dad ‘dies’. This movie is heartfelt and somewhat sad. I do like it I mean way more than elemental haha. Also an extremely well animated and drawn very pretty. I didn’t expect any more out of a movie about a good dinosaur really. This movie makes you really look at the landscape and say wow. The little human boy is cute and you can see how their relationship progresses. But also the plot isn’t lacking but there are other movies I’d prefer you know? This movie is still quite a charming one, for a movie that bores me a little. There a perfect moments of which I start to cry, feel worried while also having my heart feel warm due to both of them having such a strong connection. MADE ME CRY
- DirectorPete DocterKemp PowersStarsJamie FoxxTina FeyGraham NortonJoe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn't quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz. But when he travels to another realm to help someone find their passion, he soon discovers what it means to have soul.PIXAR This movie is very creative. Something I would have never thought of. I like those movies. I like how they swapped roles. But I’ll be honest I’m kinda bored. But I say that every time. But the thing that bumps this up is the end. The end where I slightly cry. The end where he realises that life has so many beauties and purposes. Life is supposed to be lived. Not just a goal. Amazing.
- DirectorAndrew StantonAngus MacLaneStarsEllen DeGeneresAlbert BrooksEd O'NeillFriendly but forgetful blue tang Dory begins a search for her long-lost parents and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.PIXAR. This movie is something. It’s quirky and fun and a perfect mixture between sad and hopeful. I do hate dory and Ellen DeGenerous, but is this movie dory has a plot line and changes over time. While in the last movie dory is an annoying side character made to try and make us laugh. I like the octopus a lot.
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsCraig T. NelsonHolly HunterSarah VowellThe Incredibles family takes on a new mission which involves a change in family roles: Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) must manage the house while his wife Helen (Elastigirl) goes out to save the world.PIXAR. All I can say is that it’s better than incredibles 1. Its cringy. But I like the homeyness of it and the small plots that are trickled through is. I feel like everyone is a lesbian… is that weird… should this movie be lower? I don’t know, I do know that this movie is mediocre. This movie is quite funny and explores the personalities of the characters more. The twist is kinda boring and dumb. The plot was quite unique compared to the last movie. I thought tony was gonna be a mindless boy crush but he’s super cool.
- DirectorEnrico CasarosaStarsJacob TremblayJack Dylan GrazerEmma BermanOn the Italian Riviera, an unlikely but strong friendship grows between a human being and a sea monster disguised as a human.PIXAR. This movie is boring. Maybe if Pixar dipped into the whole gay thing, then it would be a cute coming of age romance. But it isn’t. The classic “kid who thinks he’s better than everyone else but isn’t” and “the kid who has no confidence”. BORINGGGGGGGG the “villain” is just a man baby. And the parents are insufferable. There are no characters I like. Proof that this would be a better movie if it were romance because of the simple jealousy that Alberto feels about Luca and Giulia. I’m trying not to rate this ANOTHER 7 but I do like the themes of friendship and betrayal but… it’s not that strong.
- DirectorAndrew StantonLee UnkrichStarsAlbert BrooksEllen DeGeneresAlexander GouldAfter his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home.PIXAR This movie is okay. I didnt realise it had hit the half way mark (when I rate a movie) until it was way past. But then again I was drawing so. But it’s an okay movie. I like the adventure, I like the characters kinda. I like the non stereotypical use of a strict anxious dad and a dead mum. I don’t like dory OR Ellen DeGeneres but you know. I hate movies with annoying characters. But the father and son love is pretty. Solid 6.
- DirectorDan ScanlonStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanSteve BuscemiA look at the relationship between Mike Wazowski and James P. "Sully" Sullivan during their days at Monsters University, when they weren't necessarily the best of friends.PIXAR This movie is good. But it’s a sequel, and that’s about all it will ever be. A sequel. Not as good as the first one, but sets a sorta “oh hey that makes some sense” kinda backstory. It doesnt break the boundries like a good movie does, but the original does. I do really like cute randall tho. Surprisingly, this movie has some beautiful visuals and scenes where i was on the edge of my seat. But overall i got bored. Also if i had a penny for every movie ive ranked so far (6) with nathan fillion in it, id have two pennies, which isnt a lot but its weird that its happened twice. also NATHAN FILLION. I also like the nostalgia feeling of this movie, usually when i remember a movie as being nostalgic, i lose all feeling when i watch it again like with brave, but with this movie, i just get reminded about how creative it is. and with that this movie gets a neutral 5.
- DirectorPeter SohnStarsLeah LewisMamoudou AthieRonnie Del CarmenFollows Ember and Wade, in a city where fire-, water-, earth- and air-residents live together.PIXAR I do really like this movie. Its just not my jam. and thats okay. But it just doesnt beat other movies. wade is amazing and i hate to say a blob of water is totally my type. I love the idea of forbidden love. also GAYYYYYYYYYYYYY only a little but you know. But for real. this movie is so predictable and boring. a classic love story is cute but boring. i know how things are gonna end and the characters are not likeable at all. no one cares.
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsCraig T. NelsonSamuel L. JacksonHolly HunterWhile trying to lead a quiet suburban life, a family of undercover superheroes are forced into action to save the world.PIXAR. This movie is fine. I don’t care for it. It has some interesting characters but I wouldn’t watch this again. It’s a classic superhero movie and I hate superhero movies. Except for megamind but we’ll get to that one later. I can’t imagine incredibles 2 being any better. I guess I like the dynamics of the family and the relationships. But other that that I’m not truly a fan. Also WHERE IS MY SUPERSUIT? I SAID WHERE IS MY SUPERSUIT?
- DirectorJohn LasseterBradford LewisStarsOwen WilsonLarry the Cable GuyMichael CaineStar race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.PIXAR Ugh I hate mater. He’s way to annoying. He might be entertaining to youngins but I find him unbearable. This movie is a little better than cars 3 but not by a margin. This one has a slightly better plot and background. It was also a huge big making fun of Asian culture. And over exaggerating it. The crazy toilets and sleeping pods in the city. It feels like it’s trying to find anything to make funny and push mater to do it. Also why the hell is everyone Italian in all these movies??
- DirectorBrian FeeStarsOwen WilsonCristela AlonzoChris CooperLightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he's still the best race car in the world.PIXAR Pretty boring, only cause I am not a fan of cars in general. But also cause I watched 3 before 2 and 1.
- DirectorJohn LasseterStarsTom HanksTim AllenDon RicklesA cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman action figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's bedroom.PIXAR I hate it. The plot is so overused and boring that they had to make 4 movies outta it. I may have liked it when I was 5 with nothing else, but I’m at the prime age of 15 and I think some things are good and others are not. And this shit is unbelievable. It’s not that just the fact that this is NUMBER ONE on every “best Pixar movie” lists (though that is apart of it) it’s just I can’t understand why they think it’s so good. I didn’t laugh once and the Randy Newman songs make me angrier everytime I hear them. There is not ONE likeable character in it and the animation is disgusting. But then again better plot than brave and bugs life that’s for sure.
- DirectorJohn LasseterJoe RanftStarsOwen WilsonBonnie HuntPaul NewmanOn the way to the biggest race of his life, a hotshot rookie race car gets stranded in a rundown town and learns that winning isn't everything in life.PIXAR This movie is the most boring thing ever. It has no personality. This movie only lives to entertain 5 year olds. I hate cars and I hate this 2006 animation. Sorry for having my own likes and dislikes but this shit is at the bottom.
- DirectorMark AndrewsBrenda ChapmanSteve PurcellStarsKelly MacdonaldBilly ConnollyEmma ThompsonDetermined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.PIXAR This movie is insanely pretty for a 2012 movie and has some bangers of songs. I truly get the mother things and i can bet you itll make me cry. But i yearn for something more entirtaining. Its a good movie but i need something more creative than 1 hour and a half of a mother as a bear and a feminist of a princess. The things the mum says contradicts other things and she doesnt listen properly. putting it simply, this is a kids movie, not for me.
- DirectorJohn LasseterAndrew StantonStarsKevin SpaceyDave FoleyJulia Louis-DreyfusA misfit ant, looking for "warriors" to save his colony from greedy grasshoppers, recruits a group of bugs that turn out to be an inept circus troupe.PIXAR Almost the most boring Pixar movie. I’m just not interested in a bunch of ants. Plus it’s old so everything is a cliche. I don’t care for this movie and I never will
