THE FLASH RATINGS
Here we have the grandaddy of the Arrowverse, since a lot of people regard this show as "cult classic", I expected some more that what I got
Honestly I can see why this show was cancelled after only one season. The writing and the stories destroyed the whole thing. The plots are too grounded and realistic, with barely any sci-fi and fantasy in them. I mean I would expect that in a Batman or Daredevil show, but absolutely not in a Flash one. In any case, even if you accept that, the scripts are executed horribly. There are so many obvious and easily fixable mistakes that even a child could notice. The makers lacked enough skill and so the only thing that saves the show are the leads and the entertainment value. Walsh's powers are pretty limited, the only runs fast basically. I liked how bleak, almost dystopian Central City looked.
As I said, the leads are the show's highlight. Both J.W.Shipp and A.Pays try their hardest to make their characters work and they deserve praise for that, it helps also that they have impeccable chemistry (which again the writers never fully capitalized on). The villains are overall very disappointing, to the point that calling them plot devices is an understatement, though three to four of them worked, especially The Trickster (played by the great M.Hamill) who gave us the best episodes of the show. The last huge problem the show has is Desert's character, Julio, not only Desert is constantly in nirvana, but the character himself is completely useless, providing only some very basic comedic relief..
BUT as I said the show was entertaining enough to be worth your time!!!
Overall rating: 7.0/10
