- DirectorOriol PortaStarsLluís SolerBrendan PriceAlvah BessieThe Spanish Civil War made a great impression on the lives of most of the American artists of the 20th Century. Lots of films were made in Hollywood referring to this event, and the defeat of the Democratic Spain let an "open wound" in the heart of liberal actors, directors and screenwriters. The coherent life of screenwriter Alvah Bessie is our track through this feeling. From his fighting in Spain with the Abraham Lincoln Brigades in 1937 to his return to Spain 30 years later, where he was required to write his only film after being blacklisted as one of the "Hollywood Ten". This is an original approach to one of the most controversial subjects of our times: the relationship between film industry and politics.

- DirectorIñaki PinedoStarsWoody AllenSantiago CarrilloAlmudena GrandesTraveling through the life and work of the painter Luis Quintanilla Isasi, with his great quantity of experiences and his presence in singular moments of our recent history, "The Other Guernicas" deals with the enormous loss that the exodus of the most significant thing of one of our intellectuals meant for the culture of our country, as a fatal consequence of the Civil War and the later Dictatorship. The symbolism that encloses the gestation and the vicissitude lived by the fresco paintings (Los Frescos, "Ama la paz, odia la guerra", currently exhibited in the Paraninfo of the University of Cantabria) that Luis Quintanilla elaborated by commission of the Government of the Republic for the Pavilion of Spain in the Universal Exhibition of New York in 1939, and that were disappeared from 1940 to 1990, places them as a fundamental narrative axis of the history that develops this work. Santiago Carrillo, Alfonso Guerra, Almudena Grandes, Gabriel Jackson... are some of the more than twenty testimonies of the documentary "Los Otros Guernicas", but the great star of the collaborators is, without a doubt, the brilliant New York director and actor Woody Allen. These testimonies allow us to delimit how was the life of this brilliant artist, how was his life and his works, to go rescuing little by little his known works and the lost ones. With the passage of time some of this artist's works were forgotten, but thanks to this documentary an unknown information is rescued that will submerge the spectator in its recovery.

Yet, very little exists on the real man on film. The film takes its departure with the photo that "made" Robert Capa: the Spanish Republican mortally wounded in front of his camera. The question of the photo's authenticity is the 'knot' of our story. This shot came to be regarded as Capa's guiding principle of his job: the closer you get to the action, the better the photo and its impact! Despite many contradictions, Capa's legend lives on.
