- DirectorDennis HopperStarsPeter FondaDennis HopperJack NicholsonTwo bikers head from L.A. to New Orleans through the open country and desert lands, and along the way they meet a man who bridges a counter-culture gap of which they had been unaware. One of the greatest and most unforgiving road movies ever. Like many films of its era, very polarizing. Many people think it's garbage, while many others absolutely love it. 9/10
- DirectorJohn SchlesingerStarsDustin HoffmanJon VoightSylvia MilesA naive hustler travels from Texas to New York City to seek personal fortune, finding a new friend in the process. The two lead actors and the direction of Schlesinger work to create a unique, somewhat mysterious and thoughtful film. Under-appreciated by most critics in my view. 8.5/10
- DirectorRobert ElfstromStarsJohnny CashJune Carter CashAnita CarterA fly on the wall account that follows the near legendary singer on tour in the US during the late sixties. Crammed with superb music footage the film also takes time out to relax with the man behind the most famous voice in Country music.8.5/10
- DirectorGeorge Roy HillStarsPaul NewmanRobert RedfordKatharine RossIn 1890s Wyoming, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid lead a band of outlaws. When a train robbery goes wrong, they find themselves on the run with a posse hard on their heels. After considering their options, they escape to South America.Based on true old west legends. Sure, some things in the film are certainly done for entertainment value, however in my view this is fun, interesting, and well made. 8.5/10
- DirectorGillo PontecorvoStarsMarlon BrandoEvaristo MárquezRenato SalvatoriIn 1844, a British mercenary helps the revolting slaves of an Antilles island colony gain independence from Portugal, but later returns to hunt down a local rebel leader and former protégé.7.5/10
- DirectorPaul MazurskyStarsNatalie WoodRobert CulpElliott GouldTrendy West Coasters Bob and Carol try wife-swapping with square Ted and Alice.Personally I feel this is a small classic in its own right. A really good film, very fitting of its time. 7.5/10
- DirectorMassimo DallamanoStarsLaura AntonelliRégis ValléeLoren EwingBased on the infamous novel by Leopold Sacher-Masoch this fine film follows the perverted passions of a young couple as Severin watches the beautiful Wanda writhing naked amongst furs. His disturbing peeping tomism triggers off a whirlpool of emotions due to a childhood episode which punishes voyeurism with pain.Don't be fooled by the ridiculous IMDb rating, this film is much better than its rating here suggests. Certainly not for everyone, but many viewers would feel this is well worth a watch. In fact this is a fairly faithful to the original and groundbreaking Venus In Furs work by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. This is not just some dumb erotic film, this film is truly a thought provoking film and at least somewhat erotic as well, (As tastes and opinions vary of course.). 7.5/10
- DirectorRobert Downey Sr.StarsArnold JohnsonStan GottliebAllen GarfieldThe board of directors at a Madison Avenue ad agency must elect a new chairman. In the maneuvering to make sure that enemies don't get votes, all the members accidentally cast their ballot for the board's token black man, Putney Swope.7/10
- DirectorPeter CollinsonStarsMichael CaineNoël CowardBenny HillA comic caper movie about a plan to steal a gold shipment from the streets of Turin by creating a traffic jam.A fun crime caper. Perhaps it goes without saying but far superior to its 2003 remake. 7/10
- DirectorBarbet SchroederStarsMimsy FarmerKlaus GrünbergHeinz EngelmannStefan, a recent college graduate, hitchhikes from Germany to Paris where he meets American expatriate, Estelle. They chase the sun to Ibiza. An idyllic island life degenerates when she introduces him to heroin and they get addicted.6.5/10
- DirectorMichael RitchieStarsRobert RedfordGene HackmanCamilla SparvQuietly cocky Robert Redford joins U.S. ski team as downhill racer and clashes with the team's coach, played by Gene Hackman. Lots of good skiing action leading to an exciting climax.
- DirectorWoody AllenStarsWoody AllenJanet MargolinMarcel HillaireThe life and times of Virgil Starkwell, inept bank robber.Take the Money and Run is the first feature film made for the big screen that Woody ever both wrote and directed. For the most part, it is very funny. Though I would say that the schtick sort of runs its course a little before the end, and is a little much at times. It's by no means among Allen's very best work, however it is a fairly good comedic film circa 1969 nonetheless. 6.5/10
- DirectorJohn HustonStarsJohn HurtPamela FranklinNigel DavenportThe humorous adventures of the notorious Scottish highwayman and thief Davey Haggart during the 1820s in Britain.6/10
