Recycled plot twist #2b2
I won't spell out what it is because these films are all still decent and worth watching. I know of other films with the twist that are not.
These are in rough chronological order, counterbalanced by overall quality.
There is some overlap with my other list, Spooky Mysteries.
Yeah, I'm still not going to "be a devil" and give it away. I just wanted to say that I was hesitant to make this list, because I didn't want to ruin the rest of these movies for anyone who'd seen one or two of them. But really, if you've seen a few of these and are aware of the twist you can see it coming pretty early on.
I should mention that one of my all-time favorite horror movies is a 1971 thriller that, I think intentionally, leads the viewer to believe the film will end with this same twist. It teases the idea right in the title and the first half of the film hits every cliched beat. But this is only a fake out and the second half goes off in another direction. I can't even type the title here because it would give away the twist. Seriously, don't click here unless you're familiar with the twist and want to know about a wonderfully clever subversion.
MVPs:
Five directed by William Castle
Two directed by Roger Corman
Three starring Vincent Price
