Women Cinematographers: Active in the past decade
I'm building this list to accompany my Women Directors list.... Please send me URLs of Women Cinematographers who have been active in the past decade. Let's build knowledge about the women who are working as DPs and encourage more women as they pursue their cinematography careers. We can support women cinematographers by watching their films and talking about their work. Hope this helps. Thanks to Cinema in Noir for reminding me I had this project in mind. I have not had much time to build this list... but value Women DPs greatly and will work on it as I have time.
Lots of my energy is going into #DirectedbyWomen. Please join us as we shift consciousness on the planet and raise awareness... while having fun.

Sofia Oggioni H. is a Colombian cinematographer with an educational background in arts, and documentary. Her fascination with the artistic properties of light ultimately led to her career in filmmaking, working her way up the ladder from the lighting department to assistant camera and finally DoP and camera operator; this makes her one of the first women cinematographers in Colombia involved in the film industry shooting documentaries and narrative features. She is no stranger to shooting in nature and has developed a sensibility to interpret and complement natural light and color of jungles, rivers, and harsh landscapes, or create light from the darkness in unexplored dry and underwater caves to film studios and urban location setups.
For Sofia the light is a powerful narrative tool that needs to be designed according to each story and she closely collaborate with the Director to come up with a concept that can help bring their vision to life. Her experience has provided her with a special sensitivity to observe human behavior in order to anticipate events and quickly set up to capture unexpected moments of life so when the director is working with natural actors she is always ready to for those special moments that sometimes only happen one time...
Besides her numerous documentaries and shorts, Sofia is best known for the following feature films: Los Silencios (2018), Ann (2016), Los Hongos (35mm, 2013), La Sirga (35mm 2011), El Vuelco del Cangrejo (Crabb Trap) (16mm, 2009).- Cinematographer
