Classic . Intelligent , touching and exciting . Great performances by Stallone , Dennehy and Crenna . No white or black morality , everything is grey here. Brillianty paced . Strong anti-war and anti-violence message . Low body count . Both fun and thought provoking.
- DirectorGeorge P. CosmatosStarsSylvester StalloneRichard CrennaCharles NapierRambo returns to the jungles of Vietnam on a mission to infiltrate an enemy base-camp and rescue the American POWs still held captive there.8/10 . Great and underrated sequel . Victim of anti-80's propaganda and peoples unability to look past political beliefs and enjoy great action movie . Action adventure fun with some substance . Different than the first one , but great as an archetypical good versus bad movie.
- DirectorPeter MacDonaldStarsSylvester StalloneRichard CrennaMarc de JongeRambo mounts a one-man mission to rescue his friend Colonel Trautman from the clutches of the formidable invading Soviet forces in Afghanistan.3/10. Don't believe the bad reputation this movie has. I like it much more than "John Rambo" . The story is thin and there are some really silly moments ( Tank vs helicopter , Rambo destroys helicopter with arrow , the goat football). However the dialogues are enjoyable and the movie delivers action , so it's almost watchable movie.
- DirectorSylvester StalloneStarsSylvester StalloneJulie BenzMatthew MarsdenIn Thailand, John Rambo joins a group of mercenaries to venture into war-torn Burma, and rescue a group of Christian aid workers who were kidnapped by the ruthless local infantry unit.2/10. Against popular opinion I don't think it's a good movie . The high rating here is probably thanks to the nostalgia . Lame story that is basically a copy of the third one . Uninteresting characters . Primitive carnage instead of fun action scenes . Conclusion to characters journey that appears out of nowhere. I'm hoping that Stallone won't make Rambo 5 or at least that the next one will be better than this one.
