Enterprise explore the galaxy and defend the United Federation of Planets. This is no surprise. It changed television and science fiction in general, and it has Spock and Scotty.
Kirk will always be THE captain of the Enterprise!
Also, we wouldn't even have all these shows (or Star Wars even) if this original show never happened. - CreatorGene RoddenberryStarsPatrick StewartBrent SpinerJonathan FrakesSet almost 100 years after Captain Kirk's 5-year mission, a new generation of Starfleet officers sets off in the U.S.S. Enterprise-D on its own mission to go where no one has gone before.Back when I was young, THIS was the show that introduced me to Star Trek. It was my favorite Star Trek show until I saw the original. Its not #1 (sorry Riker) but no one can knock it off the #2 spot;)

This has nice effects, great storylines and interesting characters (I especially like the female captain, Janeway).

Sisko is a pretty good lead (not as good as Picard or as clever as Kirk) but still worthy of following through the series. This was the last series that Roddenberry had any say on and it shows.
- CreatorGene RoddenberryStarsWilliam ShatnerLeonard NimoyDeForest KelleyThe further adventures of Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise, as they explore the galaxy and defend the United Federation of Planets.I just actually watched this recently and its not too bad. I like that the original series' actors reprise their roles, even if its just their voices. I thought it was cute and had some nice stories but its not as good as the live action shows. If you're a fan of the original, give it a shot. If you're new to Star Trek, I'd wait and check out the other stuff first.
This is something to watch if you've run out of other shows to watch - CreatorRick BermanBrannon BragaStarsScott BakulaJohn BillingsleyJolene BlalockA century before Captain Kirk's five-year mission, Jonathan Archer captains the United Earth ship Enterprise during the early years of Starfleet, leading up to the Earth-Romulan War and the formation of the Federation. This was the last Star Trek "live action" show I've watched and I liked it the least. It was good at first but became really dark and depressing. I had to watch a few episodes of the TOS so I didn't get too depressed. I read somewhere that the show became "darker" was due to 9/11 happening but I don't know if that's true or not. However, by the end of the series, it starts getting better again.
This isn't a "must see" series but if you're diehard Star Trek, you should watch it and/or own it (I own it and still watch it time to time). Out of the all the series, this has the least action (at least to me it did).
