- DirectorAlexander PayneStarsJack NicholsonHope DavisDermot MulroneyA recently retired man embarks on a journey to his estranged daughter's wedding, only to discover more about himself and life than he ever expected. Not really a bad movie per se. Just a morose character, living a tragic life with a depressing ending. Jack Nicholson is one of the greatest actors of all time. The writing, I think, was suppose to be a black comedy. It just kept finding more and more ways to be tragic. I wanted to commit suicide after watching this movie.
- DirectorJason WinerStarsRussell BrandHelen MirrenJennifer GarnerA drunken playboy stands to lose a wealthy inheritance when he falls for a woman his family doesn't like.It took a struggling Screen Writer from Dallas to tell me why Hollywood keeps cranking out badly made remakes...Money.
But, what's funny to me is that these re-makes aren't making much money, and thank God for that! Maybe Hollywood will start looking at more Indendent Writers, and foresake formulas.
Now, this movie should never have been remade. "Arthur" (1981) was Dudley Moore, Hobson was the irreplaceable Sir John Gilgeud and Liza Minelli and the chemistry between those three was magic. - DirectorJohn BerryStarsTony CurtisJackie Earle HaleyTomisaburô WakayamaA small-time hustler takes the pint-sized baseball team to Japan for a match against the country's best Little League baseball team, sparking off a series of adventures and mishaps. Some People call "The Bad News Bears" movies a trilogy. Not quite, a trilogy is a continuous story. "The Bad News Bears" movies were a vehicle, the first two movies did great box office, but the third movie, even with Tony Curtis, couldn't save this rehashed formula of little boys using foul language.
- DirectorFernando MeirellesStarsRalph FiennesRachel WeiszDanny HustonA widower's transcontinental quest to find answers about his wife's death leads him to explosive secrets.A movie that was hard to follow, difficult to care about the characters and predictable.
- DirectorAnthony MinghellaStarsRalph FiennesJuliette BinocheWillem DafoeAt the close of World War II, a young nurse tends to a badly burned plane crash victim. His past is shown in flashbacks, revealing an involvement in a fateful love affair.A Movie That Started Out Very Interesting And Promising, Then An Hour Later, I Was Trying To Figure Out Where Did This Movie Took That Wrong Turn Into A Mess And Confusion?
Another Movie That Should Never Have Won The Oscar For Best Picture, As Well As Being Nominated. - DirectorJohn MooreStarsDennis QuaidMiranda OttoGiovanni RibisiSurvivors of a plane crash in the Mongolian desert work together to build a new plane.Another Hollywood remake/ripoff. Forget this version, you won't miss anything, and instead, watch the 1965 version, "THE Flight Of The Phoenix."
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsKevin CostnerKelly PrestonJohn C. ReillyAfter 19 years of playing the game he's loved his whole life, Detroit Tigers pitcher Billy Chapel has to decide if he's going to risk everything and put everything out there.I'm a big Baseball fan, it's my favorite sport to watch. Most Baseball themed movies are great, Baseball movies with Kevin Costner are excellent...until this one came out. I was so disappointed.
Field Of Dreams Is My All-Time favorite movie, and Bull Durham is wonderful. This movie is just a love story, more romance than sport. Costner went to the Baseball Well just one too many times. - DirectorRobert De NiroStarsMatt DamonAngelina JolieRobert De NiroThe tumultuous early history of the Central Intelligence Agency is viewed through the prism of one man's life.If you ever wanted to know what it's like to be in a coma, watch this movie. I was stoked when I first heard about this movie. A film about the beginnings of the C.I.A., you would think, would have some action and suspense. One slightly disturbing scene at the end of this movie, other than that, this movie staggered its way from start to finish at the speed of sap.
- DirectorSean S. CunninghamStarsKathy BellNoel CunninghamSean P. GriffinA losing Little League baseball team, comprised of rough-talking, racially mixed neighborhood kids, is ultimately pulled into enough of a team to win a championship.A Shameless and boring rip off of The Bad News Bears.
- DirectorAndrew FlemingStarsAlbert BrooksMichael DouglasRyan ReynoldsRight before his daughter's wedding, a mild-mannered foot doctor discovers that his future son-in-law's father is a free-wheeling international spy.Alan Arkin and Peter Falk had a special chemistry in the original, "The In-Laws." (1981). This 21st century version of the movie had no business being rehashed. Just a waste of time and another attempt of Hollywood trying to scam the public out of money.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsBrad PittDiane KrugerEli RothIn Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a plan to assassinate Nazi leaders by a group of Jewish U.S. soldiers coincides with a theatre owner's vengeful plans for the same.First of all, "Bastards" is misspelled in the title. Secondly, the 1978 version of "The Inglorious Bastards" is better than this movie, despite the simular titles. Finally, takes way too many liberties with history. SPOLIER ALERT: The Basterds did not kill Adolf Hitler in a movie theater. This movie was a Jewish Wet Dream.
- DirectorBernardo BertolucciStarsJohn LoneJoan ChenPeter O'TooleBernardo Bertolucci's Oscar-winning dramatisation of the life story of China's last emperor, Pu Yi.This movie was too long for its own benefit. There are some Movies that are great because they were long: Dances With Wolves; The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy; The Godfather Trilogy, because as long as they are, they still have a story to tell.
This movie has too many shots of the protaganist staring off into the distance as filler. Shouldn't have won the Oscar for Best Picture for 1987, but it was plausible enough to have been the last nominee just to round out the field. - DirectorAmy HeckerlingStarsJohn TravoltaKirstie AlleyOlympia DukakisAfter a single, career-minded woman is left on her own to give birth to the child of a married man, she finds a new romantic chance in a cab driver. Meanwhile, the point-of-view of the newborn baby is narrated through voice-over.A Waste of Time That I'll Never Get Back. Tries Too Hard To Be Too Cute.
- DirectorJonathan DemmeStarsDenzel WashingtonLiev SchreiberMeryl StreepIn the midst of the Gulf War, soldiers are kidnapped and brainwashed for sinister purposes.Once Again, Another Hollywood Remake that is nowhere as good as the 1962 original.
- DirectorOliver StoneStarsWoody HarrelsonJuliette LewisTom SizemoreTwo victims of traumatized childhoods become lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media. So monotonous to the point of being a Remedial Comic Book for the Blatantly Dumb.
- DirectorWolfgang PetersenStarsRichard DreyfussKurt RussellEmmy RossumOn New Year's Eve, the luxury ocean liner Poseidon capsizes after being swamped by a rogue wave. The survivors are left to fight for their lives as they attempt to escape the sinking ship.Another worthless remake. "The Poseidon Adventure" (1972) was a great flick.
Poseidon (2006) wasn't.
I believe this scam was actually trying to be the next "Titanic" (1997) It failed on all levels. - DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsMichael DouglasKathleen TurnerDanny DeVitoA mousy romance novelist sets off for Colombia to ransom her kidnapped sister, and soon finds herself in the middle of a dangerous adventure hunting for treasure with a mercenary rogue.A "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" Wanna-Be. Totally unoriginal and barely entertaining.
- DirectorBob ClarkSylvester StalloneDon ZimmermanStarsSylvester StalloneDolly PartonRichard FarnsworthA country music star must turn an obnoxious New York cabbie into a singer in order to win a bet.Typical "Fish Out Of Water" story, except having to listen to Sylvester Stallone Attempt to sing, more like moan, Country Western Music with a thick Brooklyn accent.
- DirectorJim SharmanStarsTim CurrySusan SarandonBarry BostwickA newly-engaged couple have a breakdown in an isolated area and must seek shelter at the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-n-Furter.The most Over Rated Movie of all Time! Started out fun with some laughs and catchy tunes, then about halfway through the movie, it shifted gears backwards then limped to a bitter end.
- DirectorStanley DonenJohn BarryStarsFarrah FawcettKirk DouglasHarvey KeitelTwo lovers stationed at a remote base in the asteroid belt of Saturn are intruded upon by an anal-retentive technocrat from Earth and his charge: a malevolent eight foot tall robot.Kirk Douglas, Farrah Fawcet and a Robot. That's about all I can remember from that flick. I know I watched it at least twice on cable in the early 80s. Uhh...
- DirectorDanny BoyleLoveleen TandanStarsDev PatelFreida PintoSaurabh ShuklaA teenager from the slums of Mumbai becomes a contestant on the show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati?' When interrogated under suspicion of cheating, he revisits his past, revealing how he had all the answers.Started Off Interesting, Petered Out Very Quickly. I Cannot Believe This Smarmy Nonsense Won The Oscar For Best Picture For 2008, Let Alone Was Nominated For Best Picture.
- DirectorBarnet KellmanStarsDolly PartonJames WoodsGriffin DunneA woman ditches her small-town life for big-city Chicago, where she becomes a sensation as a radio-show host.B. O. R. I. N. G.
- DirectorClark JohnsonStarsSamuel L. JacksonColin FarrellMichelle RodriguezAn imprisoned drug kingpin offers a huge cash reward to anyone that can break him out of police custody, and only the L.A.P.D.'s Special Weapons and Tactics team can prevent it.I Turned This Movie Off Fifteen Minutes After I Had Started It. I Had Seen All Of This "Tedious Hollywood Formula For All Action Movies" Before, Just In Other Movies. There's Was The Odd Ball Cast Of Characters On The Team, Including The Cute, Yet Very Tough Girl.
- DirectorTony ScottStarsDenzel WashingtonJohn TravoltaLuis GuzmánArmed men hijack a New York City subway train, holding the passengers hostage in return for a ransom, and turning an ordinary day's work for dispatcher Walter Garber into a face-off with the mastermind behind the crime.Another cheap Hollywood Remake that Denzel Washington is in, again. The 1974 Original "The Taking Of Pelham One-Two-Three" (NOTE: The Numbers Are Spelled), with Walter Mathau, Robert Shaw and Martin Balsam, is so much better than this 2009 piece of junk.
- DirectorPaul Thomas AndersonStarsDaniel Day-LewisPaul DanoCiarán HindsA story of family, religion, hatred, oil and madness, focusing on a turn-of-the-century prospector in the early days of the business. The Only Redeeming Thing About This Movie Is Watching The Mastery Of Daniel Day-Lewis's Acting. A Great Actor In A Great Role In An Off Kiltered Movie.
- DirectorTony ScottStarsTom CruiseTim RobbinsKelly McGillisAs students at the United States Navy's elite fighter weapons school compete to be best in the class, one daring young pilot learns a few things from a civilian instructor that are not taught in the classroom.Loved the Flight Sequences, Hated the Rest of the Movie. It was very Contrite and Formula Driven. The Love Story...The Sappy Loss of a Goofy Close Friend...The Testosterone Laden Strutting Competition between Colleagues.
- DirectorRobert J. RosenthalStarsScott BaioWillie AamesRobert MandanA high school science nerd gains telekinetic powers after a laboratory accident and uses them for revenge upon bullies.Totally Goofy, Inane and Idiotic.
