- DirectorDavid JacksonStarsThomas BeaudoinKati SalowskySteven A. Miller12 days before Christmas, Kate is trying to close the sale of a historic inn, only to find Daniel, the ghost of a man who died a century ago, and he needs her help to unravel the mystery of his annual holiday haunting.11/18: As schmaltzy holiday movies go, this was better than most. The characters weren't annoying and the story didn't have the usual "breakup" over ridiculous misunderstanding and huffiness. The added murder mystery made it interesting.
- DirectorChazz PalminteriStarsSusan SarandonPenélope CruzPaul WalkerFive New Yorkers come together on Christmas Eve, seeking a miracle.12/19: Super sad, made worse because of the closeness in timing to mom's death, and thinking of the untimely deaths of Paul Walker and Robin Williams. And it really didn't have anything to do with Christmas. (Although I seem to have missed a large chunk somehow. I don't remember all the Christmas carols, the singing nuns, or Rose running into an old friend.)
- DirectorMichele SoaviStarsPaola CortellesiStefano FresiFrancesco MuraDuring the day Paola is an ordinary primary school teacher, but at night, she turns into The Christmas Witch, a magical creature who brings gifts to the good kids.12/19: This could have been so much better. Pretty stupid story line, bad acting, bad voice overs.
- DirectorMichael Landon Jr.StarsChristian KaneMarley SheltonRyan McPartlinEchoing in the deepest depths of space, a humble prayer ascends from Maire Taylor, a smart, beautiful businesswoman who asks that her husband find the strength and wisdom to let go of their 9-year old marriage; meanwhile, a second prayer comes from Billy Taylor, a hopelessly romantic artist who asks that his wife receive the strength and wisdom to hold on. From these humble pleas come an answer in the form of a little miracle: an 8-year-old runaway from heaven who takes on the rekindling of this once-intimate friendship and romance that slipped away from Billy Maire after a heart-wrenching loss. Using all of her skill and charm, as well as some well-intentioned mischief, she comically sets out to heal their broken hearts and save their marriage by helping them get back to the basics of love.12/19: Better done than most that have this sort of story line. They didn't play on sympathies. Not sure why Donatello was seen as a dark figure, though.
- DirectorJohn D. HancockStarsSam ElliottCloris LeachmanRutanya AldaA farm girl nurses a wounded reindeer she believes is one of Santa's, hoping to bring it back to health in time for Christmas. Her holiday spirit inspires those around her, something her disheartened father is having trouble understanding.12/19: Better than I expected.
- DirectorJohan NijenhuisStarsRachelle VerdelPorgy FranssenAnnet MalherbeA mischievous young witch named Fuchsia befriends a human boy named Tommy. Together they must thwart his uncle's plans to destroy her witch school and his town.10/20: Netherlands; voice overs weren't too bad. It's typically corny as kids movies go, but it was cute and well done.
- DirectorPaul FeigStarsMadison IngoldsbyEmma ThompsonBoris IsakovicKate is a young woman subscribed to bad decisions. Working as an elf in a year-round Christmas store is not good for the wannabe singer. However, she meets Tom there. Her life takes a new turn--that seems too good to be true.12/23: Really good. All the characters were fun, acting was good, story was really good (twist was totally unexpected and original). Bitter sweet.
- DirectorClay KaytisStarsKurt RussellDarby CampJudah LewisThe story of sister and brother, Kate and Teddy Pierce, whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about.12/22: Second time watching this. Surprisingly good. Especially like the "fake news" comment by Santa.
