- DirectorGary TrousdaleKirk WiseStarsDemi MooreJason AlexanderMary Kay BergmanA deformed bell-ringer must assert his independence from a vicious government minister in order to help his friend, a gypsy dancer.Animation is as gothic as the story, beautiful. It’s a wonderful adaptation of Victor Hugo’s tale, that gives Quasimodo his well deserved happy ending. The soundtrack contains the most beautiful and deepest songs Disney has ever had in their films.
- DirectorGary TrousdaleKirk WiseStarsPaige O'HaraRobby BensonJesse CortiA prince cursed to spend his days as a hideous monster sets out to regain his humanity by earning a young woman's love. The animation in this one is gorgeous. The songs are unforgettable and the characters are memorable, even Gaston. Belle is my favorite princess.
- DirectorWilliam CottrellDavid HandWilfred JacksonStarsAdriana CaselottiHarry StockwellLucille La VerneExiled into the dangerous forest by her wicked stepmother, a princess is rescued by seven dwarf miners who make her part of their household. The one that started it all. Though many fail to appreciate this movie watching it in a contemporary state of mind, it has stood the test of time for a reason.
- DirectorRoger AllersRob MinkoffStarsMatthew BroderickJeremy IronsJames Earl JonesLion prince Simba and his father are targeted by his bitter uncle, who wants to ascend the throne himself.“Hamlet” in an African savanna. Amazing story with loveable characters, even Scar.
- DirectorRon ClementsJohn MuskerStarsJodi BensonSamuel E. WrightRene AuberjonoisA mermaid princess makes a Faustian bargain in an attempt to become human and win a prince's love. This one has the catchiest soundtrack. Ariel is one of the prettiest characters ever animated. The color scheme in this film make it all the more visually appealing. It’s a classic.
- DirectorMike GabrielEric GoldbergStarsMel GibsonLinda HuntChristian BaleAn English soldier and the daughter of an Algonquin chief share a romance when English colonists invade seventeenth century Virginia.Historically inaccurate, I know. I like to see it as a “what should have happened” film, if the real John Smith wasn’t such a prick and a creeper. “Colors of the Wind” is my favorite Disney song.
- DirectorGeorge ScribnerStarsJoey LawrenceBilly JoelCheech MarinA lost and alone kitten joins a gang of dogs engaged in petty larceny in New York City.My favorite adaptation of “Oliver Twist”. This is one of Disney’s underrated films. The songs are composed by Billy Joel and he plays “Dodger” in the film.
- DirectorClyde GeronimiWilfred JacksonHamilton LuskeStarsIlene WoodsJames MacDonaldEleanor AudleyWhen Cinderella's cruel stepmother prevents her from attending the Royal Ball, she gets some unexpected help from the lovable mice Gus and Jaq and from her Fairy Godmother. This one is is so pretty to look at. The scene where the fairy godmother transforms her dress into the iconic ball gown is beautifully animated for the time period. The animal characters like the mice, dog, and cat are adorable and unforgettable. True classic.
- DirectorClyde GeronimiWilfred JacksonHamilton LuskeStarsBobby DriscollKathryn BeaumontHans ConriedWendy and her brothers are whisked away to the magical world of Neverland with the hero of their stories, Peter Pan.To me what makes this film great is Tinkerbell. She’s the first Disney character (in my opinion) that’s a realistic female. Her spoiled attitude and the scene where she pulls Wendy’s hair, I just love her ! This has the racist Native American scene in it, it’s hard for many to forgive that today. However, it should not take away from the overall fact that it’s one of Disney’s Best films.
- DirectorRich MooreStarsJohn C. ReillyJack McBrayerJane LynchA video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives. This deserved the Oscar instead of “Brave”. The story is so much more interesting and it’s heartwarming. Instant classic for sure.
