As a child you accept reality for what it is and Alina is trying hard to fulfil her parents wishes. The main question seems to be if it is a good idea to raise a new generation of circus artists, in a country where everything changes so quickly and the travelling circuses seem to disappear like snow in the sun? Her parents believe it is. They are raising her this way because they believe it is the best they can do for their daughter, just like any parents would.

- DirectorPhilippe Terrier-HermannStarsSimon BuretAndy GilletDimitri CapitainThis film proposes the allegory of a social drift with all the power of romantic fascination that it can evoke. It is about a meeting between two young people formatted by a culture of success with two men embodying a nihilistic and dematerialized vision of the society. This work approaches this tiny border, which exists, between the hero and the failure, of this difficulty identifying our own referents. Are these two men messiahs either two poor wandering guys? Is this descent of the river closer to a descent in the hells either to an initiatory journey? The film is built on a narrative deconstruction process, it create a tension in its first part, cheek with in the second and proposes an extremely divested end, based on the deconstruction of a pictorial image. This scene is inspired by the vision of the picture of Evariste Luminais, "Les Enervés de Jumièges" exhibited in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen (Normandy). Just like this drift, this slow death in the sun is even the heights of the passive suicide. The hero of the film, the one who will be led to the sacrifice, evokes certain passages from "The Accursed Share" of Georges Bataille, particularly those who make references to the human sacrifices, to the beauty, the luxury and the potlatch.

- DirectorElvan KivilcimStarsBeyza OlcayOne from Europe, the other from a country aspiring to be European for centuries; one from the West, the other from the East. Yet, both are women, DJs and mothers to 11-year old sons. SHE-J is the story of two alter-egos; DJ Beyza (Beyza) from Turkey and DJ Dame (Natasja) from Holland. It is not a film about DJs or the club scene but a film about women and Turkey with its young urban face and its confrontation with Europe. As the first female DJ of Turkey, Beyza says playing electronic music in Turkey is like trying to sell pork in a Muslim neighborhood. She travels from one city to another performing in different parts of Turkey and has hardly any time to see her son, Dunya. She must struggle to cope with a male-dominated society that sees her as a misfit. Her passion for her work as well as life conditions in Turkey force her to live a lonely life, unable to find a partner who would accept her marginal lifestyle. Natasja, on the other hand, seems to possess all that Beyza yearns for: a steady life partner who accepts her lifestyle and a more structured family life, as well as better professional economic resources. Yet everything is not necessarily as satisfying as it may seem from a distance. She feels stifled by the highly regulated, very ordered society in Holland. She yearns for more chaos in her life, because she feels that too much order kills individual creativity. But when the two women meet, they find out that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

- DirectorPéter BacsóStarsFerenc KállaiLajos ÖzeZoltán FábriBanned for over a decade for its outspoken criticism of the post-WWII communist regime in Hungary, Péter Bacsó's 'The Witness' has since then achieved unparalleled cult status in its native land. Known as the best satire about communism, 'The Witness' has become a cult classic, which was also well received by critics and general audiences alike when it was finally released outside of Hungary. Its candid and realistic portrayal of the incompetent communist regime has earned great acclaim for both the director and the film itself when it was shown at Cannes Film Festival in 1981. 'The Witness' takes place during the height of the Rákosi Era, which was closely modeled after the ruthless and brutal Stalin regime. The film follows the life of an ordinary dike keeper, József Pelikán, who has been caught for illegally slaughtering his pig, Dezsõ. Instead of doing hard time for his "heinous" crime, Pelikán is elevated into an important position, generally reserved for the communist elite. Of course, Pelikán is utterly clueless about his newfound luck, not to mention his new job. Even his new benefactor, the mysterious Comrade Virág, is reluctant to reveal the real reason behind Pelikán's preferential treatment. Thus, begins Pelikán's hilarious adventure deep within the "sophisticated" communist society. One failure after another the incompetent Pelikán is elevated higher and higher on the communist echelon, all the while remaining completely clueless about his promotions. Until one day, when he gets called for to return the "favour" by falsely testifying against his long-time friend in a mock-up show trial.
