Raised on a cattle and bison ranch in Southern Alberta, MacKenzie began studying piano, violin, and voice at the young age of four. As a classically trained violinist, MacKenzie performed for many years as a soloist and a chamber musician, performing with various symphonies. MacKenzie's family of musicians helped cultivate her sound and, for a number of years, MacKenzie toured with a family band, including her brother Kalan Porter, 2004 winner of Canadian Idol (2003), before branching out to perform on her own. In 2011, MacKenzie won the Nashville North Star competition and has recently opened for Kenny Chesney, Doc Walker, Trooper, The Tenors and has performed for such notables as Gene Simmons and Prime Minister Harper. Maddie Ziegler was born as Madison Nicole Ziegler on September 30, 2002 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since the age of two, Maddie Ziegler has had a passion for performance. Sasha Luss was born in Magadan, Magadan Oblast and moved to Moscow at a young age. As a child, she had no interest in pursuing a modeling career, preferring to spend her time writing and dancing. She frequently participated in ballet competitions before she suffered an ankle injury which prevented her from continuing her hobby. Her mother's friends and even strangers would compliment Sasha's modeling potential. When Sasha was thirteen years old, her mother took her to visit a modeling agency, where she was instantly signed. Luss has stated that her grandmother disapproved of this career move, claiming that modeling is a terrible, immoral business.
