- DirectorJohn GlenStarsRoger MooreMaud AdamsLouis JourdanA fake Fabergé egg recovered from the body of a fellow agent leads James Bond to uncover a jewel smuggling operation led by the mysterious Octopussy, and a plot to blow up a NATO air base.If I didn't love Pierce so much, Die another day would be here, but I'm sorry. Roger Moore is without a doubt the worst James Bond. He made a few too many films, and I wish he would have left when he said he would. Connery now could fight better than Moore could at this time. I just hardly remember anything about this film, and the parts I do remember are completely ridiculous. Hanging on a plane that size while it's flying? Telling a tiger to sit? and worst of all. NO EXCUSE FOR JAMES BOND TO DISGUISE HIMSELF AS A CLOWN! Also, the scene where the blonde chick tries to hide the egg in her dress is almost laughable. Was she trying to hide it in her vagina? Dear God, what went wrong here?
- DirectorLee TamahoriStarsPierce BrosnanHalle BerryRosamund PikeJames Bond is sent to investigate the connection between a North Korean terrorist and a diamond mogul, who is funding the development of an international space weapon. Not even Pierce could have saved the disaster that is D.A.D. I have to admit I do enjoy the ice chase sequence, but there is a certain point where even when my brain is shut off to enjoy a work of fiction that I have to go, "ok, seriously, not even in my wildest dreams would this be plausible." Bond just seems like he doesn't have a clue what's going on half the time here, Halle Berry is not a Bond girl so much as a simple ally, and I just want to punch the 4ft villian in the face. Everytime you hear him speak is like nails on a chalkboard. Diamond face henchman just completely made gay all that is Bond henchman, and the puns in this one are just BAD. There is hardly anything that's redeemable about this film. The plot just tries and fails to be serious because it's offset by so many ridiculous happenings. I might as well watch Austin Powers for a more serious interpretation. Even Goldmember was better than this.
- DirectorLewis GilbertStarsRoger MooreLois ChilesMichael LonsdaleJames Bond investigates the mid-air theft of a space shuttle, and discovers a plot to commit global genocide.AKA what killed the franchise until Goldeneye. Dalton was at least the shovel that digged up the battered remains of it. What kills it for me is the fact that you know they were trying to compete with Star Wars' success here. It just doesn't work. The other ridiculous moment being when the gondola comes out of the lake in Venice and the pigeon does a double take. I know I'm in hell now when birds are judging the action. And if they were going to have Jaws speak, could they give him a more baddass line. Don't care how corny, but a guy with metal teeth should not have to be instantly pussified as such here.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsRoger MooreChristopher LeeBritt EklandJames Bond is targeted by the world's most expensive assassin, while he attempts to recover sensitive solar cell technology that is being sold to the highest bidder. Not the worst, but not the best. It's more laughable than it is threatening to have a 2.5 ft henchman for such an amazing villian as Christopher Lee. There's juxtaposing and then theres really jumping the shark. Also killed by the unecessary reappearance of Sherriff Pepper. Dont' flogg a dead horse. It worked once, and was only needed once. Need I mention the whistle sfx when their car does probably the most unrealistic stunt ever put on celluloid? Oh, also annoying and/or forgettable/bimos for Bond girls.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsSean ConneryJill St. JohnCharles GrayA diamond smuggling investigation leads James Bond to Las Vegas where he uncovers an evil plot involving a rich business tycoon. You can tell Connery just stopped trying in this one. I've never been so bored with a Bond film as I have with this one. It doesn't even really feel exciting at all. I can't find anything necessarily good or bad with this one. It's just forgettable and boring. Dune buggy chase. That's about it, and it sucks.
- DirectorLewis GilbertStarsSean ConneryAkiko WakabayashiMie HamaJames Bond and the Japanese Secret Service must find and stop the true culprit of a series of space hijackings, before war is provoked between Russia and the United States. You cannot disguise a 6ft 2 inch British Spy as a Japanese sailor. I'm sorry, i don't make the rules. You just don't. Add to that the fact that the 5 year wait to revealing the Spectre mastermind was such a dull payoff even for Donald Pleasance. This kind of was another forgettable connery one. I just can't find things I like or hate about it so much. It's just terrible mediocre.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsRoger MooreChristopher WalkenTanya RobertsThe recovery of a microchip from the body of a fellow British secret agent leads James Bond to a mad industrialist scheming to cause massive destruction.Had some things going for it, but there's no taking Christopher Walken seriously as a villian. It's almost like your wacky uncle playing a prank or something. I do enjoy most of the action scenes in this one. However, given that roger moore was like 60 when this came out, you have a problem when you can't take your lead seriously anymore. I also wish that they all could not have pointless beach boys songs play during a ski chase that isn't even remotely near california or sierra nevada for that matter. Seriously? What was the point of that? Mayday may have been memorable, but I didn't really see any depth to her at all. At least it wasn't Octopussy.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsRoger MooreYaphet KottoJane SeymourJames Bond is sent to stop a diabolically brilliant heroin magnate armed with a complex organisation and a reliable psychic tarot card reader.Good start for Moore, and it had things going for it save for a boring Bond Girl. Great boat chase sequence, interesting to have Bond against some African american villains for a change, and was at least a serious plot. One thing though that makes it beyond laughable was at the end when the bullet capsule made Kananga inflate like a balloon. What a way to go.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsTimothy DaltonRobert DaviCarey LowellA vengeful James Bond goes rogue to infiltrate and take down the organization of a drug lord who has murdered his friend's new wife and left him near death. You really can't blame this film for being kind of cast in the undertow. Having Last crusade and Batman to compete with in the same year is kind of unfair. It had some great performances hero and villain alike, and the plot was good and developed. It's just not very well paced until the very end. The development everything is there, it's just not very well delivered. It felt less like a Bond movie and more like a simple suspense thriller. I don't dislike this film really at all. Matter of fact I love how they gave Q more to do this time around. It just needed a little extra oomph, which it didn't recieve, and unjustly too. It's good, but not great.
- DirectorMichael AptedStarsPierce BrosnanSophie MarceauRobert CarlyleJames Bond uncovers a nuclear plot while protecting an oil heiress from her former kidnapper, an international terrorist who can't feel pain.Fun, simple plot, interesting Bond villian(s), good action sequences, and lots of classic Bond. Nothing really wrong with this one, except for one thing. Denise *beep* Richards. Never have i been sucked out of a movie so much before because of the lack of plausibility of a supposed female lead. She doesn't even do as much as the Bond girl villianess, and she just feels terribly awkward besides Brosnan. And who could forget the infamous "Christmas only comes once a year" pun at the end. Talk about your cringeworthy endings. only thing that puts it under tomorrow never dies.
- DirectorMarc ForsterStarsDaniel CraigOlga KurylenkoMathieu AmalricJames Bond descends into mystery as he tries to stop a mysterious organisation from eliminating a country's most valuable resource.I wanted to put this as a good Bond film, I really did. the problem is. It's not really a bond film. Whatever bond elements that were preserved with Casino Royale were sucked dry as the desert its set in with this film. How could they rush a film so much like this? I know they're trying to be gritty with the action and everything, but jeez, did they hire the Tazmanian devil as their editor? I was probably one of the few who could actually follow what was going on, but even so, Quantum is kept far too much of a mystery to even have anything to do with its friggin title. Give us a little more information, not too much, but just enough so we can care. The only three who really saved this film for me were Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, and Mattheu Almaric. I actually enjoyed those scenes they had together. Fields needed way more to do, and Olga Kurleynko had almost no chemistry with Daniel Craig. As a stand alone character it works, but it just felt so cliche and rushed as the rest of the film. I don't hate this film, and there are things to like about it much more than a lot of other Bond films, it's just average, and for Bond, that doesn't really do. Here's hoping the next one is at least better constructed.
