Historical Timeline

1970
  • The jury does not consider any film outstanding and decides not to hand out awards for the reason that "...the films have a good professional qualities and they attract the audience but none of the chosen films meets the requirements where the society engagement in its most humane sense, artistic mastery and the search for new qualities and possibilities in the film are the decisive criteria."

1990
  • The jury does not consider any film outstanding and decides to award all twelve films in competition along with a financial reward for the reason that "... taking in consideration the equality of the films presented, it is impossible to highlight only one artistic individuality. So the panel has decided to give a big financial prize of 120000 Kc together with the award 'Kingfisher' to the set of the presented films. They were awarded for keeping the continuation of the Czech work of the film and their social, moral and aesthetical values in the difficult times of the political and cultural normalisation."
