Here are stories of forgiveness, reconciliation, of climbing out of bed every morning open to love. Bluegrass Underground's new, permanent home, The Caverns, lies deep within an ancient limestone cave system at the base of Monteagle Mountain in Tennessee's beautiful Cumberland Plateau. For ten years Bluegrass Underground has presented a stellar list of artists curated from the heart of the American experience, hosting the best of Roots-Rock, Jam Band, R&B, Gospel, Indie-Folk, Soul and, yes... even Bluegrass! Even with all these legendary artists and icons, it's still a wonder when lighting strikes inside the cave. Brandi Carlile is that lightning, captured for PBS in this one-hour special. A dynamic celebration of the gospel tradition, this performance features all-star artists alongside gospel legends and The Fairfield Four, National Heritage Fellowship honorees who were featured in O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and The McCrary Sisters, four daughters of former Fairfield Four bandleader, the Rev. Sam McCrary. Performing with one of the best backing bands Nashville has to offer, guest artists include Amos Lee, Buddy Miller, Lee Ann Womack, Van Hunt and Lucinda Williams.
