- Through a combination of hand-held and hidden camera footage, Lucent explores the darker side of Australia's pig farming industry, highlighting the day-to-day cruelty accepted by the industry as standard practice.

Each year, only in the US alone, around 300 million male chicks are cruelly killed in the egg industry because they can't lay eggs. If they are not the same breed of chickens raised for food, they are also killed by cruel techniques, like gassing, suffocation, electrocution, or not at least maceration where animals are sent to a meat grinder.
