- This is a documentary about unsung heroes of World War II. In 1943, a 24-year-old maths student and a GPO engineer combined to hack into Hitler's personal super-code machine - not Enigma but an even tougher system, which he called his 'secrets writer'. Their break turned the Battle of Kursk, powered the D-day landings and orchestrated the end of the conflict in Europe. But it was also to be used during the Cold War - which meant both men's achievements were hushed up and never officially recognized.
- A look at the Shanghai Transrapid maglev train, the fastest public passenger train in the world. It reaches a speed of 268 miles per hour in its 19-mile, 7-minute trip from the city of Shanghai to Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
- Stephen Fry makes his final appearance as the host of QI by correcting some misconceptions with his guests Alan Davies, Chris Addison, Sara Cox and Sue Perkins.
- Geordie is called to investigate an apparent break-in at a computer laboratory. When the head of the lab keels over and dies from mercury poisoning, Geordie suspects foul play - particularly when he finds that the Professor appears to have spent the night in the lab with someone other than his wife.
