- A wife questions her life choices as she travels to Stockholm to see her husband receive the Nobel Prize for Literature.
- Encompassed by violent street gangs, neglectful parents, bullying teachers and a dearth of positive role models, a studious but emotionally abandoned kid turns thug.
- Cathy and Colin, Ian and Gordon arrive to celebrate Burns Night with Eric and Beth. To everyone's surprise Christine turns up, she is back early from visiting her daughter in North Wales and is full of complaints about the trip.

- Cathy and Colin return from holiday to find that their house has been broken into. Colin discovers that the perpetrator has left something in their house - in Cathy's knicker drawer.
- Ian and Gordon take Beth out for a pub lunch to celebrate her birthday, which is hijacked first by an uninvited Christine, then by a drunk Colin and by an intimate photograph.
- Returning from a quiz night at the pub everyone is encouraged to reveal their hidden talents, while Cathy is very bendy it turns out that Gordon is not as agile as expected.
- Beth and Eric think that their son Ian is taking them out for a 30th wedding anniversary dinner, but instead find that Ian and his boyfriend Gordon have arranged for a surprise party at their house with all of their neighbours.
- After an emotional funeral for his father, Colin and Cathy have the neighbours round. As the drink flows Colin reminisces about his dad but Cathy tries to turn the evening into a party with inappropriate music and games.
- Beth and Cathy do their good deed for the day, dropping Christine off at the hospital. Beth and Eric return later with everything Christone has asked for only to find the operation has been postponed - prolonging everyone's suffering.
- Gordon's parents Graham and Sandra visit Scotland from Yorkshire and Ian and Gordon bring them to Latimer Crescent to meet Beth and Eric. The neighbours advise them what to see in Scotland and everything goes well until sport is mentioned.
- New residents Alan and Michelle take refuge at Beth and Eric's house while their own home is being redecorated. Michelle is determined not to be a nuisance but overly helpful neighbours keep bringing her food.
