- Larry falls afoul of wanted criminal Gentleman Joe, who runs a saloon full of tough guys and gunslingers.
- A bumbling sawmill employee tries to win the hand of the owner's daughter while staying out of the clutches of the mill's bullying foreman.
- A government official staying in a hotel puts some important secret papers in the hotel safe. A ring of spies out to get the papers manages to steal them from the safe, and a lady government agent enlists the help of the hotel's bumbling bellhop in getting back the papers and breaking up the spy ring.

To escape his retaliation Larry nails the manager down the basement, but opens a stage trap by accident. The primadonna in the midst of her act is precipitated from the stage down into a cask of black paint. Larry seeks safety in the loft from which altitude he manages to ruin all the acts on the bill. When the star calls for artificial fog, he gives him a barrel full of it and wrecks the show. They all strive to get after him, but Larry comes out victor as the picture fades.
- Despite his vocation as a waiter Larry is in love with the star of a review at a cabaret and, after the most insurmountable obstacles, he wins her.

The manner in which Larry and the other principal are being continually struck by lightning and the way the lightning follows Larry all over the place, up and down stairs and around corners, is cleverly done.

When he comes to and finds out what happened, the outraged boxer sets out after Larry,
- Two land sharks, U. Holdim and I. Robim, are after a farmer's property where oil has been discovered. The farm hand, Lay Zee, in love with the farmer's daughter, saves the farm and routs the oily crooks.
- Larry arrives at his girlfriend's house to ask her father for her hand in marriage. Her father, who is in the middle of winning a chess game for the first time in 20 years, immediately throws Larry out the window. Meanwhile, the girl is kidnapped by a Chinese servant, who is secretly the henchman of a gangster who has developed a sleeping potion he wants to try out on an unsuspecting woman. Larry finds out, and he sets out to rescue his girlfriend and try not to get thrown out of a window by her father again.
