- Charter helicopter pilots Chuck and P. T. solve crimes. Rescue people, perform tasks and more using their Bell helicopter, the star of the show;

- Kagan, an escaped convict, plans to kill the people who sent him up. A deputy is killed in what appears to be a case of reckless driving. A plane carrying the sheriff is sabotaged and nearly crashes. Next on the list are Chuck and P.T.
- Billy and Danny fall into a mine shaft at a ghost town. Billy's little brother, Ricky, goes for help. He is spotted by Chuck and P. T. in the whirlybird. They take him to a hospital and then return to search for the other boys.
- A million dollars in diamonds is stolen by two masked robbers at Longwood Field near Whirlybirds headquarters. One of the two police guards is fatally shot and dies. Before he dies he manages to tell his brother he knows who one of the masked robbers is. The brother goes on a mission to find and kill the murderer. Chuck and P.T. believe he should let the police handle this but the brother is determined to get the killer.
- Three escape convicts, one of whom has flying experience, steal the "Whirleybirds" plane and rough up their secretary. The warden arrives and they co-ordinate a search for the missing plane which has little gas. When the convicts return to fuel the plane, the warden later arrives to wait for new developments and is kidnapped by the convicts who fly off again. The search continues...
- Whirlybirds ground crew are trying to contact P.T. and Chuck to warn them of imminent danger of a thunder storm. As this is going on reporter Bronson arrives to do a news story on the Whirlybirds business. Chuck and P.T. at this moment are delivering a portable iron lung respirator to a secluded mountain home were a young boy named Tommy is in great need of the respirator to survive. Dangerous winds and lightning, fear of loosing the precious life saving cargo due to the holding straps coming loose, plus a leak in the helicopters gas tank only make things worst for the pilots. To make matters even worst the storm breaks the power line leading to the mountain home and it is up to the Whirlybirds to help a local lineman reconnect the live electric line in time to save young Tommy.
- The Whirlybirds are hired by the sheriff's department to follow "drug dealers" at night from the air while using Infra-Red light.
- A wealthy explorer is conned by a former acquaintance into believing there has been a discovery of an ancient civilization. He hires the Whirlybirds to take them to the location not realizing that he is being set up to be robbed.
- Virgil Hook and his "lynch mob" want to take the law into their own hands and evict a suspected killer and his wife from their home. A reporter has important information that may change things . Chuck and P.T. help the reporter and police out.
- A popular jazz musician who hired the Whirlybirds to fly him to his next two gigs is murdered between shows. A local club owner is suspected in the beginning but a series of events appears to point to someone else.
- The Whirlybirds are hired for a hunting trip up in the mountains. But once they get there they discover that there's a plot to kill one of the hunters.

- A mysterious package arrives at the Whirlybirds office whose contents include their missing wrench and half of a $500 bill.
- Sister Bridgit, who works in an orphanage, asks the help of Chuck and P.T. with teenager Andrew. He went to live with foster parents on a farm and is not getting along with them. Sister Bridgit wants to help them be a family. While trying to help, Andy and his foster father get into an argument and Andy steals the family truck. Chuck, P.T., and Sister Bridgit search the city and stumble upon a possible robbery that Andy may have committed. They hope they are wrong about Andy but they and the cops scramble to find and capture him.
- A license plate found by P.T. in a river provides evidence that frees a man wrongly convicted of killing his wife.
- Billy is a lonely orphan, desperate to make friends he tells the other boys that he's a friend of the Whirlybirds, who he knows about from newspaper articles detailing their exploits. Luckily, Sarah asks Chuck and P.T for help.
- The Whirlybirds are hired to find a missing uranium prospector. The search area is rugged and inhospitable, and the task is even harder when two claim jumpers try to stop them.
