- This movie was adapted from a newspaper serial (Strange Tales of the Adventurer in the Wild Country) and released in 18 feature-length parts over a period of 3 years (1928-31). In its entirety it would be 27 hours long.
- Stefcia Rudecka starts working as a governess in an aristocratic house. Waldemar, the young heir, falls in love with her but his well-off family is not eager to accept the woman he loves.
- Episode 1: "Land of the Intrigue" Taking advantage of his monarch's lack of funds. Prime Minister Simond of Alania, who secretly aspires to the throne, induces him to pass an obnoxious tax bill. Then, with his sovereign unpopular, Simond feels it a good time to strike, so he causes the assassination of the King, Phillip II and Queen Alize, while they are hunting in the royal forests. Capt. Barreto, Commander of the Alanian palace guard, and a loyal friend of Phillip II, realizes Simond's dastardly plan, and when he hears him issue an order for the apprehension of the little Crown Prince, the only obstacle remaining in his path to the throne, he dashes off with him to America, with the aid of Juan, a fisherman. Barreto makes arrangements with Juan to keep in communication with his brother, Lieut. Jarreto. Simond proclaims himself Prince Regent, and with a bold bid for popularity, rescinds the obnoxious tax bill, his first official act.
- Staying at a fancy resort, Wladyslawa Majewska is mistaken as a male guest when she is dressed in a skiing outfit. The manager offers her, thinking she is a he, a job as a dancer to entertain the unescorted ladies who frequent the hotel. Wladyslawa goes along with the offer, and keeps the old ladies dancing but falls in love with the best-looking male guest in the process, who thinks she is a man.
- Polish comedian Adolf Dymsza cross-dressing and masquerading as a woman in order to gain the confidence of his sweetheart's domineering guardian.
- Two rival sports equipment companies and their heirs, Jadzia and Jan, whose meeting will become a source of funny misunderstandings.

- Franciszek Brodniewicz reprises the role of Duke Waldermar Michorowski he played in the 1936 "Tredowata." Here, he leaves his recluse existence to help rescue the victims of a great fire, and suffers severe injuries. In his delirious state, he believes he is being taken care of by his dead wife, and (amara Wiszniewska, who is serving as his nurse, thinks his statements of love are meant for her. He is subsequently forced to disillusion the girl when he becomes normal, and she drifts into a casual love affair, but later falls in love with the Duke's nephew, (Wojciech Wojtecki.) The Duke later takes his nephew's place in a duel with the rejected suitor.
- The story of a nice typist Joasia, a conscientious lady and an exemplary employee. Despite so many advantages, our heroine loses her job every now and then. He can't stand the courtship of other bosses. When she is completely desperate, she comes up with a diabolical idea. From a charming young lady, she changes into a disheveled bespectacled woman, thinking that in this way she will get rid of importunate admirers and find peace at work. Meanwhile, the roles are reversed and it is Joasia who falls in love with her boss, attorney Robert Rostalski, who unfortunately already has a friend. Joasia decides to go to the Fashion Ball, where the patron is a member of the jury. She borrows a glamorous gown and becomes the sensation of the prom. She is unanimously voted Fashion Queen and wins the heart of her boss.
- Barbara Radziwillówna, the daughter of the noble house of Radziwill, accidentally meets the future Polish king Zygmunt August under embarrassing circumstances. She introduces herself as a member of a forester's family, whereas the heir to the Polish throne describes himself as a squire serving the king. Their passionate love affair leads to a secret marriage which is revealed shortly before Zygmunt's coronation. However, the queen mother is furious at this turn of events as she has always planned a truly royal spouse for her son. Members of the parliament refuse to sanction the marriage, but the king's plea for recognition of his bride eventually breaks down all opposition. But the queen mother reverts to Borgia-like tactics to get rid of the unwanted daughter-in-law and the tragedy pursues.
