- A newly hired police chief vows to clean up a notoriously corrupt police department. When he is murdered, investigators find that there is no shortage of suspects, most of them being fellow cops.
- Dyer is buying ranches and then retrieving his check by having his gang kill the owner. Bob Worth arrives just as Buck Morton is killed and gets blamed for the murder.

The private detective assigned to watch him tells Mrs. Neville he has been kidnapped. She immediately suspects her husband. Meanwhile, Tommy is selling newspapers in another city. He is attacked by a bully, and is rescued by gangster Terry Mallon and his daughter Kitty. Unaware of his identity, they take him to their beach home. Reporter Breezy Benson is sent to interview Mrs. Neville about the divorce, and is fired when she won't talk to him. He meets Kitty at the beach and is intrigued by her. He meets her father, who is curious but not suspicious as news of the alleged kidnapping has not been reported.
- When Mark 'High Gear' Sherrod (Murray) looses his nerve, the race car driver takes a job driving a taxi, but when he befriends a cute reporter and the young handicapped son of a deceased driver, he attempts to return to the track.
- A United States marshal in the Southwest learns of a Mrs. Osborne, whose son and husband have been killed by raiders and whose daughter, June, has been taken captive. He orders Jack Laramie, his best man, to investigate the affair and arrest the guilty parties at any cost. Jack arrives at the local cafe and learns the identity of the outlaw gang and June's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Jack has rescued a child whose parents have been killed while crossing the prairie to stake out a homestead. Laramie rescues June from her captor's hideout, shoots him, and brings about the arrest of the other outlaws. He claims June for his bride, and they adopt the little orphaned girl.

- Ranger Ray plans to marry stage driver Bill Mason's daughter Mary. Unknown to Mary, twenty years earlier when he was Sheriff Mason had to kill her father.
- When his young son is shot, John Wellington kills the culprit and flees. But his son Johnny recovers and is raised by Sir George. Some twenty years later Johnny sets out to find Sir George's missing granddaughter. He finds her and also finds Rand, but neither of the two men realize they are father and son.
- A wandering cowboy attempts to locate a pal who has struck it rich in mining. When he gets to town, no one seems to have heard of the friend. Our hero learns the truth with the aid of a female bandit.
- When Clay Morgan kills Joel Potter, Marshal Manning has to arrest the brother of the girl he plans to marry. When the Morgans effect Clay's escape, the Potters take Ann Morgan as a hostage. Manning is now caught in the middle and the two sides are about to fight it out.
- A dying Marshal gives Tom his identification papers to Tom. After Tom arrives in town, the papers drop and are found during a fight, so Tom decides to assume the Marshal's identity. Chief Mason now sends Rattler, the Marshal's killer, to follow up by killing Tom. But when he overhears that Tom is a fake, they change their plans and go to arrest Tom for Marshal's murder.
- As punishment for speeding, a young man is forced to "adopt" a mother from a local old-age home in the hopes that she can help change his life.

- Intent on avenging his father's murder, Roy Neal and his sidekick Rusty find themselves in the border town of Gladstone where Neal is mistakenly arrested for the robbery of a mail truck. After escaping, Neal joins up with pretty June Bowers whose father has apparently also been murdered. Neal, suspecting two of the town's leading businessmen of being the murderers, tries to flush them out before the sheriff can lock him up again.
- This surprisingly violent 15-episode serial takes place on the border between Texas and Mexico. When warned by Captain Jack of the Texas Rangers of impending trouble, elderly rancher Bill Burrel swears that Mexican cattle rustler Pancho won't do any riding or shooting in the area again. Pancho's lieutenant Santas, (who desires his boss's daughter Juanita's hand, and has been refused), overhears Burrel and decides to make things rough on Pancho by stirring up trouble for both sides. Pancho and his raiders, sworn to drive the settlers off the border country, attack the Burrel ranch and shoot Burrel dead, and his son Harry swears to make Pancho pay for his night's work. In the conflict that follows Pancho is knocked unconscious and his hands crushed in a press by masked men, apparently Texas Rangers. Though the torture is actually performed by the traitorous Santas and his cohort Rodriguez, Pancho blames the Rangers for the injury, swears revenge, and the two factions resolve to destroy each other. In succeeding chapters, Pancho and his ruthless gang menace Harry, his sweetheart Ruth and abduct Harry's younger sister Blanche, inflicting fiendish and deliberate tortures upon them. Pancho's demands are carried to his sworn enemies by the black-garbed "emissary of evil" the Masked Rider, who rides onto the scene without warning to kidnap, assault, or fire upon the Texas Rangers, their relatives, and even their horses. Pancho's daughter Juanita, frequently harassed by his men, is shocked by her father's cruelty and takes surreptitious action to prevent his murdering innocent captives when she can. She also falls in love with Captain Jack of the Rangers, which complicates matters even further. Rugged and outspoken "Ma Chadwick," Ruth's mother, helps the Rangers when Blanche and then Ruth are both kidnapped. Interesting shooting locations include a hacienda complex in Sabinas, Mexico, an ancient mission in San Antonio, the gigantic Medina Dam, at which a terrific action sequence was apparently almost thoroughly improvised (the scene does not appear in the original shooting script), and the "hole in the wall," a labyrinthine passage through the border mountains.
- John Clark (Bob Steele) and his deaf pal, Bootch Collum (Buck Connors), are trailed by U. S. Marshal Lamar Bly (Jack Rockwell), who thinks they are part of The Kootney Kid's (Earl Dwire) gang, which had just held up the stage coach. But the gang attacks the pair, and Bly joins them in the gunfight. Bly is wounded and is taken to a Mexican's camp to recover. He gives John his badge and authorizes him to take up the hunt. The Kid, unknown to John by sight, is on a ranch which he hopes to gain legal possession of as it has oil. It is really John's by right, which he does not know until informed by his sweetheart, Joan Vallon (Roberta Gale.) The Kid has taken a letter from the stage holdup which he is using to establish his identity as the rightful owner named Everett Tarkington Clark, John's real name. John is in the courtroom when the Kid makes his claim, but his protest is overruled and he is arrested on suspicion of having killed Marshal Bly. He and Bootch escape and ride to intercept the Kid who is on his way to eliminate Bly, the only person that can verify John's claim...
- Bolton has organized a feud between the Rork's and the O'Neil's. He has rustled cattle and killed a man putting the blame on Danny O'Neil. Tom Rork has found a bullet with markings on it that he hopes will clear Danny.

- Billy Donovan arrives looking for his sister's killer. When he hires on at the Halloran ranch where the mysterious Phantom has killed all the hands, it's not long before the Phantom shoots him.
- Jimmy Dixon, pursued by a band of Mexicans, changes clothes with a tramp, who takes off on his horse. Four miles later, Jimmy walks onto the Double-O Ranch, from which he had been thrown off four years before by his dad, who had blamed Jimmy for something that his twin brother Duke had done. Duke, home from college, took over the ranch when Mr. Dixon became ill, and has run it into the ground. When Duke goes to the bank to repay a debt to Jimmy, he rides onto Phoenix with all of the ranch money. Jimmy, forced to pose as his brother, runs into Duke's fiancée, Jean Adams and a Phoenix girl friend, then has to fight Swede over a dancer. Jimmy learns that gambler Regan and Duke plan to steal the Double-O herd along with the cattle they're already rustled from neighboring ranches. Duke tips Regan about Jimmy, who is nearly killed. Remorseful, Duke joins Jimmy in the showdown against the rustlers and dies protecting his father.
- Rin-Tin-Tin brings the killer of his mistress to justice.
- Jim Blake rescues criminal Hare Talton and Good Samaritan Estaban Solano from dehydration and death and tries to rehabilitate Harve by taking him in as partner in his gold strike.
- Bob Marlow is sent undercover to an Arizona town where an outlaw gang, comprised of the six Tolliver brothers, have taken over the town and terrorizing the citizens. He comes to town, posing as an Eastern dude, and, through a series of incidents manages to get rid of three of the brothers, mostly through their own ineptness. The remaining brothers decide to get-while-the-gettin'-is good, rob the bank and head for the Mexican border. But Bob isn't far behind.
- When Morley has his own bank robbed, Tom tries to break it up. Mistaken for one of the gang, he is caught and sentenced to a chain gang. His girlfriend Peggy then sets out to prove his innocence.
- A sheriff tracking a gang of rustlers discovers that one of them is the brother of his fiance.
- Doran and the Sheriff have a scheme to bring in an outlaw gang. Doran is sent to prison so he and the gang leader Mitchell can break out. This gets him into the gang but he is in trouble when it's revealed he is working with the Sheriff.
- Insurance Agent Ted Sanders has been called in to investigate a robbery and murder. A deputy also arrives to investigate. But unknown to Ted, the Deputy is a fake and actually part of the gang. The fake plants some of the money in Ted's room so he can arrest him. Then with the help of the gang he plans to finish Ted off.
- The man that framed Tom Lansing's father for murder is at a ghost town where no one is allowed in or out. Tom gets in by posing as an escaping outlaw with his sidekick Banty posing as the Sheriff that is chasing him. Tom learns that the boss Cramer is the man he is after but there is trouble when Banty later gets caught. Cramer holds a kangaroo court planning to kill Banty if he doesn't tell who his confederate is.
- Jack is looking for the man that was responsible for the death of his sister after he hired her as a school teacher. When he runs into school teacher Ann who was just hired by Corey, he soon realizes Corey is the man he is after.
- Strelsa Cane, a successful stock actress, comes to New York and meets with reverses in her endeavor to get a start on the New York stage. Through a ruse she finally sees Winthrope, a successful manager, who is impressed with her ability but demands that she make a dishonorable bargain with him as the price of stardom. She refuses. Put out of her room for non-payment of rent, she seeks refuge in a house to which she has found the keys. Steve, the brother of the owner, finds her and denounces her, believing she is the woman with whom his brother has an affair. Later he learns the truth and insists that he will marry her, but she has accepted the manager's offer in desperation. Her debut proves a big success and as she prepared to keep her part of the contract, Steve appears. In a fight with Winthrope, he is struck from behind the curtain by his discontented valet, and Steve and Strelsa decide to go West and begin all over again together.
- Hoss Martin befriends Chuck Willis, a war veteran long separated from his mother. They arrive at the old home to find Gabe Lawrence posing as the son. Gabe is scheming with Luke Steele to deprive the mother of the ranch, but Hoss shows them up, installs his friend in his proper place, and wins the love of sister Elizabeth.
- The famous western fiction writer Bob Morris arrives at the Henderson ranch. He quickly realizes the hanging, runaway horses, and the shootout are fakes for his benefit. But when a real robbery takes place he thinks it's another fake.
- Marshal Reb Russell (Reb Russell), working for the Cattleman's Pretectice Association, is sent into a territory to investigate a large-scale rustling operation carried out by a well organized gang of outlaws. He is ambushed outside of town by Jerry Blake (Gene Alsace), a man he once sent to prison, and kills him in the ensuing gunfight. Red finds a note on Blake that introduces him to man called Deke. The gunfight is witnessed by Tommy Lord (Hal Taliaferro) and his girlfriend, Sue Callahan ('Lucille Lund), whose father, Wade Callahan (Lafe McKee),has been a victim of the rustlers. Sue rides for the sheriff, Curt Turner (Slim Whitaker). It turns out that the sheriff and his ten-man posse comprise most of the members of the rustling gang and have no intentions of allowing Reb to leave the area with his life intact.
- Bob Sinclair, black sheep of his wealthy family, returns home after making his fortune and soon finds himself accused of embezzlement and of the attempted murder of his father, Lionel Sinclair. He also finds that his sweetheart, Edith Stafford, is being courted by his brother, Edwin. Bob escapes by stowing away on a ship on which Edwin and Edith are passengers. In a series of thrilling adventures Bob is able to produce evidence to clear his name and reveal that Edwin forced Edith's brother, Charles, to embezzle funds and to strike Mr. Sinclair.
- Bruce Reynolds is looking for his grandfather's map to a hidden supply of gold. When Garlow sees Amos Jenkins with the map he kills him. Cliff Graves witnesses the murder and jealous of Reynolds for taking away his girl friend Joan, blames him for the crime.
- An agent sent to investigate the thefts of gold bullion shipments discovers that the mine owner is behind it. He also finds out that the owner has his gang capture travelers in the desert to use as slave labor in the mine.
- Jim Morgan, in cahoots with the Sheriff, hires three wanted gunmen Dog Town Kid, Gibbs, and Pike and makes them Deputies. He wants them to kick the homesteaders off their land. The Kid then arrests the outlaw Lobo Joe. When the three fail him, Morgan turns to Lobo Joe with disastrous results.
- Tom Henderson is made Sheriff of Chico to fight Slim Walker's gang. Unknown to Tom, banker Luke Hargrave is the gang's real boss. Dad Kane is looking for the man that blinded him whom he can remember by his voice. He finds him when the gang robs the bank and Tom chases them down.
- Smokey, looking for his parents' killers, trails a gang to Blaze's ranch. Posing as a wanted man he join the gang. He hopes to find a ring taken from his father that will identify the murderer.
- Perrin and his partner get paid a big sum of money at the end of their cattle drive. Shortly thereafter, the partner is found with a knife in his back and Perrin is blamed for the murder.
- Hank Davis kills Jack Lewis to get his gold mine. Bruce Conway brings him in, then realizes that Davis is the only one who knows where the mine is. Bruce and his pal Whitey rescue Davis from the lynch mob only to have Davis' gang catch them and leave them in the desert to die.
- Ted Warren returns from WW1 to find that everyone thinks he was dead. The culprit is Kent who intercepted his mail, rustled the Warren cattle, took over the Warren ranch, and is now after Ted's girl friend. When Kent's henchmen fail to kill Ted, Kent shoots Ted's father and leaves him for dead. But only wounded, the plan is to have Warren appear as a ghost to get a confession from Kent.
- Wealthy oil magnate Harry Mangin is in love with his competitor James Murdock's daughter Blanche. Mangin schemes to ruin Blanche's father so that the girl will be forced to accept his attention. However, Blanche loves "Sky Eye" Blake, an aviator at the adjoining U. S. aviation field. When Mangin is driven in desperation to muster his own private air force in order to destroy his rival's oil plants, "Sky Eye" takes to the skies to quell the riot. After several daring escapades, "Sky Eye" captures Mangin and wins Blanche for his bride.
- King Calhoun comes to the aid of "Ma" Jackson, who is fighting to regain control of the family ranch after her husband's death. Her daughter, June, is desired by the ranch foreman, Pete Miller, who threatens revenge after his is fired.
