- As the government of Alpania, a seaside European republic, is threatened by revolutionary monarchists, three American adventurers--Jack Perry, Dick Sayre, and Lyn Brook--arrive in the country and immediately become embroiled in the civil strife. Perry offends the monarchists, who capture him and sentence him to death before a firing squad. Brook rescues his compatriot by bombing the complex, thus killing Perry's captors. Disguised as a woman, Perry infiltrates the royalists' circle where as "Fedora" he quickly becomes a court favorite and earns the love of Zana, an Alpanian woman. While Perry carries news of the monarchists' plot to the republicans, Brook, donning feminine attire and calling himself "Thelma," diverts Grand Duke Nebo. Perry is recaptured, but commandeers an enemy airplane to safety. After an automobile chase, Perry eludes the revolutionaries and escapes to America with Zana.
- Trapper Jean Maddane and his friend, Tom Wise, arrive in Placer, a town in the Pacific Northwest, where they learn that most of the area's timber land is owned by the ruthless Taggert, known as "The Wolf of Placer." The only person standing against Taggert is Ruth Shirley, who refuses to sell her land. When Jean observes one of Taggert's henchmen, Black Pete, trying to force himself on Ruth, he intervenes. Seeing Jean best Black Pete in a fight, Taggert decides to hire Jean as his camp foreman. Sometime later, after Black Pete is near death following a shooting accident, he warns Jean that Taggert has abducted Ruth because he secretly wants both her and her land. Jean then goes out into the woods and rescues Ruth from a pack of wolves, which then kill Taggert. Finally freed of the Wolf of Placer, Jean and Ruth find happiness together.
- Dartigan, an adventure-seeking Nebraskan with a broken-down horse, seeks the famous Three Buckaroos and receives their challenges to three individual pistol duels when he stumbles onto them. En route to these appointments he meets and falls in love with Constance Kingsley, and he valiantly assists the Buckaroos in repulsing an attack by cattle rustlers at the rendezvous. Thus, Dartigan is allowed to take the oath of The Three Buckaroos, which forbids him to declare his love to Constance. Led by Dartigan, the Buckaroos engage in many valorous exploits and finally round up the rustlers--freeing Dartigan to tell Constance what she has been waiting to hear.
