- An Irish girl comes to America disguised as a boy to claim a fortune left to her brother who has died.
- Millie Stope lives with her grandfather on a remote island. Her grandfather fled there for political reasons. But they're not alone. An escaped prisoner, Nicholas, is terrorizing them, and further more, he's interested in Mllie. John Woolfolk has lost his wife in an accident and tries to forget by sailing in his yacht aimlessly on the ocean. By chance he drops anchor in a bay of that island. The soldier returns, claims the girl, and marries her after the Cossack is accidentally buried alive.

After a visit, Barnett is so convinced, by Jane's sincerity, of the value of the endeavor that he volunteers his help. Anstell pretends to support the mission to gain public favor, but a mob seeking revenge for wrongs done by Anstell attacks the son, John, and beats him to death. Anstell sees his mistakes, awakens to the real purpose of Jane's work, and reforms. Jane and Barnett continue together at the mission.
- After obtaining a divorce from his second wife Emily, Roy Tappan marries Dora Carson, who has just divorced her husband. Left poor with two children, Emily marries Walter Heath, a former suitor, then discovers that she cannot live with her new husband because the divorce is not legal in her home state. Tappan and his new wife soon run out of money, each having thought the other was wealthy. His aunt promises to support him in exchange for his two children. He kidnaps the children and hides them from Emily in his aunt's home. After Emily and Walter find them, they go to Yellowstone Park, where they are considered legally married. Tappan follows and is killed after a fight with Walter when a boiling geyser throws him into the air and throws him onto the rocks below.
- During a rebellion of prisoners at the San Quentin State Prison, Boston Blackie makes a lightning escape aided by Mary McGinn while chased prison guards.
- Howard Spurlock, wrongfully accused of theft, believes police are seeking his arrest. On "the ragged edge," he takes refuge in China, where he meets and is nursed back to health by Ruth Endicott, daughter of a missionary. They marry and go to an island in the South Seas where, later, his innocence is proved.
- King Philip of Spain is jealous of his more popular brother, Don John, and sends him into battle against the Moors, hoping he will not return. Don John is in love with Dolores, daughter of General Mendoza, but the general discourages her, as Don John is betrothed to the Queen of England's sister. Don John returns victorious, and following a dispute over a secret letter, the king stabs his brother and leaves him for dead. When Mendoza accepts the blame, Dolores, who knows the truth, tells the court she had been dishonored by Don John, causing her father's reaction. Dolores then threatens the king that she will reveal his guilt unless her father is pardoned. The king pardons Mendoza, Don John recovers, and he and Dolores marry.
- Arrested for speeding in her roadster, Hope Warner, a wealthy young woman, meets and is aided by Martin Van Huisen, a young civil engineer who has made his way in the world by sheer force of character, despite the handicap of early poverty. Later, Martin is instrumental in saving Hope's life and the friendship between the two ripens into love. They become engaged but the girl's loyalty to her lover is put to a severe test when he takes her to visit his father, old Peter Van Huisen, who lives in the tenements, where he has spent all his life and will not leave. When Hope sends out invitations for her wedding, her snobbish training asserts itself and she tears up the one intended for the elder Van Huisen. On the wedding morning she is troubled with remorse for her action and by the time she is attired in bridal costume, experiences a revulsion of feeling. She jumps into an auto and hurries to old Peter, confesses her fault, brings him back with her and is married.
- Young Angus Burke accidentally shoots the sheriff, who is leading a posse to get the boy's father, a thief. Angus' mother dies, and he is taken to trial alone. Found not guilty, he is given a job with the local newspaper office. He leaves when several citizens object to his presence--to return several years later. He takes over the newspaper and saves the townspeople from a gang of crooks.
- Mild-mannered silk salesman Roland Francis finds himself a target for marriage-minded women who believe him to be good husband material. Pretty young Ann Winton, after being dared by her brother-in-law, invites Roland to dinner and a night on the town in Greenwich Village, and Roland accepts.
