- In Red Dog, Nevada, a lawless mining town, Ann Murdock attempts to oust the reigning politicians, all of them corrupt, by persuading women to run for office. Because the women cannot vote, they convince their husbands to vote for them, and as a result all of the elective offices in Red Dog come to be held by women. The men, meanwhile, remain at home to care for the houses and babies. Disgruntled by his loss of power, the former town boss has the new town officials locked in jail. Tenderfoot Leonard Blair tries to assist them but is arrested on a trumped-up robbery charge. Ann finally rescues Leonard, with whom she has fallen in love, and the women are released from jail to continue their petticoat politics.

Glory, who has wrapped candy in the letter, throws it on the floor, and it is picked up by the daughter of the accused man. Glory learns of her mistake, and with the help of Richard Grant, a young lawyer whom she met at school, she retrieves the letter from the businessman's home. When Richard proposes to Glory, she decides to forego the dubious pleasures of finishing school to become his wife.

Struck by her beauty, Paul tries to kiss Jess, but she drives him away at the point of a gun. Later she finds her father dead and, in order to discover the murderer's identity, becomes a dancer in Fanning's saloon. There she meets and falls in love with detective Steve Douglas, who has been given the assignment of exposing the whiskey smugglers, but when she learns that her father was killed with Steve's gun, she resolves to kill him. Just in time, Jess finds that it was Paul who committed the murder, and with a great sense of relief, she is joined to Steve.

He takes the necklace from Jack and then uses it to lure Kathleen to his room late one night. When he tries to attack her, she kills him.
