The Tattooist of Auschwitz (2024)
Good, buy could have been great..
It annoyed me that they put a spoiler in like the 4th episode where they tell us they were together for 55 years, why would you do that in your own show?!
Husband lostt complete interest on the show after that, I continued the show after finding nothing else 5 days later.
Also so distracting that they put Rose from 2 and a half Men in there with a terrible blonde wig and an; what we thought New Zealand or South African accent? Apparently its an Australian accent?? We couldn't tell, we're Australian btw.
It really took us out of the story and the vibe of the show.
Were they trying to make it light hearted by doing this? Pulling us out of the terrible things that happened? I don't know.
Also the English accent on the Jewish guy, I would think that a Jewish accent would have been easier than a mixed Australian/New Zealand/South African accent.
If they wanted to make it really impact full, they shouldn't have bothered with these things.
Get rid of the try-hard Australian accent, have a neutral interviewer, get the guy to at least Try to do a Jewish accent, it isn't that hard, don't give away your own ending in your Own Show!
Plus her getting annoyed at him was unnecessary to put in, she feels so deeply for him and his story that she has a panic attack, but gets annoyed at him calling because he wants some human conversation or contact after his wife dies.
Also if they wanted to make a meaningful impact when they show the random faces of those who died, instead of being actors, show the REAL photographs of the people who died, pay tribute. That would have been Incredibly impactful, a missed opportunity.
The real footage of Lali and the interview is a million more times impactful than most of what they put in the movie.
Scenery was great, costumes great.. Make up Not so much. Directors could have gone a bit harder on it. If you've seen Real photos of Auschwitz it is Far far worse. They look like skeletons; they were so gaunt and malnourished. Should have portrayed that better.
I did like the story, but it felt too Disney-fied fairytale for me, glamourising it, making it a love story.
Noah (2014)
I thought is was pretty good!
I liked it. I'm not sure why these religious folk are so against it? Like you believe a story about a flood and 2 of every animal, nephilim, talking donkeys and every other far-fetched story. But can't wrap your head around this?
Like how was Noah supposed to build an Ark By Himself? He's supposed to be what, 600 years old? This stuff you believe?
Let's just say for arguments sake that these stories are true.
Was No One supposed to notice him building this ark and try to kill him, like humans intrinsically would? Or that Noah wouldn't have to make hard choices? They also have a lot of child killing in the Bible, so what did you expect all sunshine and rainbows?
I was just annoyed that Noah didn't kill those babies He had the right idea in the beginning, but changed his mind? Man is inherently evil but even though seeing this and living through these miracles, no one was willing to give themselves up?! I'm not even religious and I would have done it for the greater good!
We are flawed. This movie only gave me hope that something like this could happen, maybe with climate change? That's meant to happen over 100 years (hey there seems to be a pattern here! Maybe someones building an ark right now!) But I hope they fail or make the sacrifice to end it and we'll all be gone for good, finally! 🙏
Ghosted (2023)
Geez it's bad
Ugh, it's just terrible. Dialogue is terrible.
The movie Draaaagggs like anything...
Ridiculous unbelievable things happen like how she catches the thing at the end, so stupid.
Chris Evans is terrible and can't believe all those other actors signed on for this movie. The girl in it, I mean she tried, she was good in the action scenes but she can't really convey much emotion.. they both can't so there's really no charisma between them at all.
Only thing that was enjoyable was the gag with the people kept dying and the boyfriends, so will give it a star for that, other than that this movie is just disappointing and was waiting for it to end.
Thumbs down 👎
Crimes of the Future (2022)
One of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Disgusting, why would you put something like this out in the world? Why would you put more ideas and thoughts into an already ugly world, where sick and disturbed people can and will take things too far?
This movie is seriously messed up, no real point but some strange sexual surgery fantasy. I could have gone my whole life not knowing that was a thing.
I wish I could unsee it.
I'm surprised a lot of these actors signed on for a movie like this, or that it even played at the cinemas. I would have walked out too, as I heard other people did.
The Cronenberg family is seriously messed up. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Ad Astra (2019)
Empty and nothingness
This is my first written review here, this movie irked me enough to write one.
I usually love space movies, loved Interstellar as it made you think about the possibilities of the universe. But this movie was a disappointment to say the least.
You never really get to see anything, they don't really even do anything. It's just a whole pile of nothingness put together.
Space has so many fascinating possibilities, so don't know why you'd make a story about nothing when you have these incredible CGI and special effects at your fingertips. Could have made something really special.
Its boring, you don't get to know or feel for any characters. There's no wonder and awe, no charm, it's empty and it drags.
Pretty much Brad Pitt just goes looking for his daddy in deep space.
I thought I'd stick it out, maybe we would get rewarded with a decent ending, that something was found? But no, nothing again.
Apparently they discovered that there was No other life out there in the Universe, nothing.. Bleak.
Workin' Moms (2017)
Loooove
Just finished watching season 6.
Episodes 22 minutes long are too quick, I expected new seasons to come out sooner when there's technically only 4-5 hours screen time per season.
Love this show regardless though, can't really remember what happened in season 5 that everyone is talking about, but season 6 is on point.
Love their down to earth difficulties.
And honestly Love to see their outfits.
Haven't seen another show like this, a look into working mums lives, make mistakes and don't take themselves too seriously.
Netflix should be promoting it more, it's a great show that that a lot more people could like.
Looking forward to season 7!!
My Octopus Teacher (2020)
Could have helped it not suffer..
I liked it, but seriously dude you just let her get slowly get eaten, picked at by scavenger fish and sea stars for an entire day. How could you sleep if you really cared about it? Slowly being eaten, her flesh being torn off her throughout the night while you sleep comfortably in your bed? Until you came out the next day and a shark Finally came and ate her.. Seriously? You said you supposedly Loved that Octopus nut you let it suffer for so long.
It's not stupid, if it used you to unknowingly help it catch lobster, it knew you could have helped it when all the animals were tearing at it.
Also couldn't help but feel your family, especially your son needs you to be home more often and be present and there for him. Not you trying to fill some void in your life.
