Lost Girls and Love Hotels (2020)
Oddly and Darkly Unique!
This is a movie with oddly dark and difficult subject matter. It was very well acted and is certainly a quality work of writing, production and direction. This is not a happy movie but certainly worth a watch. I haven't experienced a emotional effect like this in a movie since "9 and a half weeks" with Basinger and O'Rourke and there are several parallels. Having said that, in many other ways they are certainly not the same. I would recommend a watch just because it is well done and unique. Heed the R rating!
Resident Alien (2021)
Best Comedic Actor Since...
I am thoroughly enjoying watching Alan Tudyk in this Alien role. In my opinion he might be the best comedic actor/straightman since Don Knotts!! Obviously it's all on him whether the series is successful or not and he makes it look easy; a very talented man.
Creed II (2018)
The Early Last Straw!
About one quarter into the movie, Creed and his wife are standing in the middle of a living room holding hands. She appears to stand approximately 5 inches taller than Creed. At least choose an actor who can reasonably represent a heavy weight stature. At least choose an actor that is larger and taller than his girlfriend / wife! When I saw that it was indeed the early last straw!
Empire of the Sun (1987)
Unbelievable!!!
How did Christian Bale not receive an Oscar win for his incredible role in this great movie??? Six academy nominations and not one win. In my opinion shows how the industry is stacked!!!
The Rookie (2018)
Nathan Fillion ; ALWAYS THE BEST!!
I don't know whether it's because Nathan Fillion knows how to pick the best shows / scripts. Or if it's simply because of what he has to offer in an actor's influence to make those successful?! What I can state is that I have always enjoyed the projects he's involved in.. The Rookie is simply the latest in his repertoire.
I always thoroughly enjoy the show and look forward to it week to week. I hope the network doesn't make some stupid decision to delete it for once again, some stupid reason!!
Robin Hood (2018)
Wasted Potential
My main disappointment is that Jamie Foxx entered into this film; such a great actor and such a poor choice. What's with all the modern haircuts? What's with the weak ass and dumbded- down version of Robin Hood?
In my opinion this movie was almost a politicized hatchet job against what normally is considered a great hero. Very sad interpretation!!
Bannock (2014)
Oddly Good!!
Made in 2014. One has to look up the date otherwise you would never know when it was made. One can't place the era as all the actors are unrecognizable. Quality photography and editing and sound! The script lends towards an attempt to duplicate the era of history and... who would know?
Quite unique. Oddly enjoyable and satisfying! Based on that premise, I definitely recommend it.
House M.D.: Chase (2012)
Conflict of Conscience.
What a great episode! Having had in some way similar religious experience, I can relate. So the episode has significant meaning to me. So once again I state "what a great episode".
Black Snake Moan (2006)
Something Different
Just think of all those movies that always fit in one cookie cutter mold or another. This show is not one of those. Get ready for a nice treat; a change of pace that is beautifully accomplished between Jackson and Ricici.
Trauma Center (2019)
Ouch!!!
I felt very sorry for the actors in this show. I couldn't tell which was worse, the script or the directors end result.
