Conspiracy of Hearts (1960)
This is a movie worth watching.
This is a very moving film about the war and the life of nuns during the period. The story line is completely believable and real. Lilli Palmer always gives an excellent performance and Yvonne Mitchell is very interesting to watch, as she learns to appreciate the value of saving the children. The climax at the end of the movie with the anticipated shooting is very moving to witness. This movie was a rare one for me to become teary!! That is a sign to me that it is very good.
The Golden Girls: Dorothy's New Friend (1988)
Disappointment with the ending of The Golden Girls episode
I have been watching the reruns of The Golden Girls for years and still enjoy it greatly. This is one of the rare episodes that leaves me not laughing. I thought the humour was well done between the actresses as always and Bonnie Bartlett added to the laughs as well. However I was disappointed with the ending - to be watching and laughing for 20 odd minutes and then to have the ending finish in a rather distasteful few moments. I was surprised and disappointed as the writers usually present such great humour throughout the program. When Barbara takes Dorothy into the kitchen to say why they cannot go to Mortimer's the lines are as if they come from another show. I feel sure they could have concluded the episode on a much better and more humorous note. I still wonder why this was done!!
Please note, I don't think this is a spoiler.
The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (2015)
A great Marilyn Monroe Movie based on her Life
It was such a nice change to see a movie of Marilyn Monroe depicting her personal life and struggles.I have read many many books on Marilyn and I thought this was spot on. Congratulations to Lifetime Movies. Also congratulations to Kelli Garner and Susan Sarandon. It was difficult for Susan as in real life Marilyn did not spend a lot of time with her mother. Apparently Marilyn always lived with a fear of inheriting her mother's mental illness. It was also nice to still enjoy a movie on Marilyn Monroe after such a long time after her death.I believe Kelli captured Marilyn's voice extremely well. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to others for viewing. Thanks!!!
