A Late Quartet (2012)
Exceptional
A rare treat for those with the knowledge and imagination to be inspired by music and the human condition in which we find ourselves. This is not just for classical music lovers; it is for all real musicians and lovers of the artistic process.
Great acting, writing and direction. A film full of passion and intellect informing us that there is still the human capacity to create the spirit of a universal rhythm and harmony beyond the trivial and mundane
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016)
A Geo/political War Film based on the Facts. Riveting.
The' most revealing event about this film is the fact that Secretary Clinton was the person responsible for allowing this tragedy to happen.
The events played out here under the scrutiny of Mr Bay is masterful and has to stand as a lighthouse in cinematic direction. The whole is skilfully edited with plot events that meet most criteria for embedding a true narrative into an appalling catastrophe fit for the screen. The irony is that the CIA Station chief received a medal for being completely devoid of any leadership or vision.
Apart from being a war film shot as close as you can to actually being there, this is a political work clearly showing the actions and consequences created by a government machine totally incompetent to being in charge, and an event where responsibility for murder has never been faced.
In this film there are no big stars and thank goodness for that. It is certainly not gung-ho, looking for John Wayne. The only gung - ho character is Hilary Clinton (sadly not mentioned in the film), and those so called expert film critics who have slated this should go back to media studies, because that is clearly where they come from.
Quantico (2015)
Really Poor
This series is really bad, with plot deletions and fabricated lines of narratives that are unconvincing. It reminded me of a high school romp with all the superficial acting, plot manufacturing, and cheesy technical devices. If it were a drama documentary then it would tell us why the FBI are such morons.
Libertarias (1996)
Superb
The best docu drama I have ever seen. Everything was spot on. I have studied this period in detail and it does not disappoint. Only saw it with French subtitles but no problem for me. Why isn't there one with English titles? That is absurd as English speakers need educating
Tell Me How I Die (2016)
Dreadful attempt at mature drama.
Written by morons, directed by a moron, overall a bad student attempt to make a film. The narrative pleads for some intelligence to at least throw in some plot events which would make it less amateur. Why oh why would these fools not even question their wristbands, surely that would be the first item to get rid of. The characters are poorly scripted archetypes based on well tired understandings of women and men as baseless characters in a reality TV show. Is the moral of the story that students need to get themselves out of debt by avoiding a plutocracy embedded in the culture of retarded drama of the worst kind.
