Around the World in 80 Days (2021)
Slow, predictable, boring, unlike the book
When I started watching this series, I quickly read the original book. I became excited and expectant to see the story on the screen. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that this series only shares the title and absolutely nothing else! Don't think you know ANYTHING at all about the Verne classic after watching this. It's a totally different story in every way. Every single part of the story is different and every character is totally different. Why PBS chose to trash the classic and, instead, write an inferior story, is beyond my understanding. I suggest you read the original instead.
Blown Away: Christmas (2021)
Very strange series of episodes
Why was the guy from Queer Eye there? He knows nothing about glass and thus has no appreciation of the artistry and skills needed. He constantly asks stupid questions about what's happening, because he doesn't know! If I were an artist being told to leave the shop by this guy, I would frankly ask "who are you to judge my work, dude! You know nothing of my art!"
I know, they see people watching this show, so they're pushing the Queer Eye guy into the show in hopes of pushing up the other show ratings, but it just doesn't make sense. Go back to having judges who know what they're judging!
Robin Hood (2018)
More alcohol!
It took me a little while, watching this movie, to realize what it needs. But, I finally figured it out... More alcohol! If you have enough drinks while watching this, then you don't notice so much the modern terminology in a middle ages world, the costumes which aren't appropriate even for a battle today, much less then, etc. Anachonisms galore! Story lines that don't make sense, etc. But, it *is* full of fun action! I have to got it that! So, make sure you have enough alcohol to ignore the nonsense and just relax and have fun! You were entertained? That's all it is.
Supergirl: The Faithful (2017)
Supergirl as a Cargo Cult!
Maybe my strong interest in religions and religious practices sways my judgement of this episode, but investigating the idea of "Supergirl as Cargo Cult" Is something I wouldn't have thought of. Definitely an interesting angle and entertaining episode!
Anomalisa (2015)
Waste of time! Doesn't develop at all. Incredibly boring!
This has to be the most boring movie I've ever seen. I finally had hope that maybe it would progress to something more interesting, during the morning after seen, but then it went back to just being trite and boring. Please don't waste your time watching this crap. Even after a few drinks, it's still boring. Did anyone actually pay to watch this in a theater? I hope not. I'm told I have to write at least ten lines of text in order to submit this review but the movie is so simple and silly that I don't know how I can even write that much! OK, there were two interesting parts; the part where the main character has his face drop off, thus showing that he, and everyone else is a robot of some type, and the other part was when the customer service person said that he loved the main character. One would hope that a good writer would work on those points and develop them into something worth while. Some good payoff at the end. Maybe just leave us with something! But... Nope. Nothing. After the entire movie, we're left with nothing at all. No conclusion, no insights, nothing. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I don't get it. Don't waste your time! Really!
