Uncle Tom (2020)
eye opening
Compelling from beginning to end. Uncle Tom exposes one political side, using oppressive policies and rhetoric to create divisiveness, while the other, promotes free-will and individualism to create socioeconomic and social equality. The stories told are the reality of being black in America. If you are 100% with us, and if you vote for us, then we can validate your blackness; however, if you vote for the other side, "then you ain't black."
Rules of Engagement (2007)
Grows on you
I hate most of the new laugh track sitcoms. The writing revolves around immature sexual innuendos. The sitcom died when Seinfeld, ELR, and the King of queens left television. While this show is not innocent of using unimaginative sex puns, it does have many likable characters. Patrick Warburton brings us back to the old days of David Puddy, and if you're a fan of David Spade's obnoxious sarcasm, you will definitely get your fill. Perhaps the biggest surprise; however, is the South African Indian actor Adhir Kalyan. His timing is impeccable, and as David Spades assistant, the dialogue between the two is hysterical. Ultimately, this show does not come close to the big three mentioned earlier, but it is by far the best out there today.
How I Met Your Mother (2005)
What ever happened to the sitcom?
Yikes this show is bad. It is a true testament to how far our society has fallen when How I Met Your Mother, 2 1/2 Men, and 2 broke girls are considered funny. The laugh track sitcom died when Seinfeld, everybody loves Raymond, and king of queens left television. Now all writing revolves around childish sexual innuendos. It caters to today's retarded generation of teenage boys and girls; that is the same group who believe that Dane Cook is hysterical. Sitcoms belong to the funny stand up comedian, not Neil Patrick Harris, Ashton Kutcher, and that ugly girl from the 40 year old virgin. Other genres of comedy have been taking over. Parks and Recreation is the funniest show on TV by far. Those comedies are alive and well; however, the laugh track sitcom is dead.
Face/Off (1997)
love action, hate holes
Don't get me wrong, I love action movies but I saw faceoff for the first time today (1/9/2013) and was frustrated from the start. The hospitalization of Nick Cage is mindblowingly stupid. He is one of the most wanted men in America, but because he is in a coma, they leave him in a low security room, unchained, and with access to a telephone. Come on!! That would never happen. That was enough for me to give it a bad rating. Also, people's bodies don't fly back ten feet from a gun shot. The most hilarious part is in the boat chase, nick cage starts barefoot water skiing. You know how hard that is? People don't just do that on the first try.
