Treadstone (2019)
solid spy action series you shouldn't watch
Why? Because they canceled it after 1 season at a clif-hanger leaving entire plot lines un-finished!
That's like showing someone half of a thriller movie never knowing how it ends.
To be honest, I'm not sure why it didn't catch is its a great action series! Plot line, action (except for the exaugurated fighting sounds), acting this is really a Jason Born series!
I'm also not sure why so many people got confused on the plot line, its as rich and complicated as any spy movie. Its actually easy to follow as every time the plot line changes its main character view point or time there is text on the screen showing the name of the character, the location and the date - you really should get confused at all.
All in all, a great series I would recommend and watch season 2, if it had one. Since it doesn't I don't see any point in watching it.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Awesome 1st season, then Netflix dumbed it down, be warned.
If you actually saw the original in the 80s you'll love the first season! it was grownup cool interesting and fun.
while the 1st season debut on YouTube of all things the 2nd-3rd season was done by Netflix which turned it into another silly ridicules teen romance show for ages 8-18.
I watched it because I had hopes following the 1st season but it made angry so many times with the stupid storyline and immature plot choices.
if your above 18 watch the first season only.
if your under skip to season 2 & 3.
I'm going to skip the next one for sure.
Seungriho (2021)
Awesome!
If this was an American sc-fi with names like George Lucas people would have rated it 9 or above!
It's a good movie with awkward Korean vibes but over cool fun and interesting, don't dwell over the minor issues. It's a great movie!
Better then most American sci-fi lately.
Humans (2015)
Refreshing Sci-Fi - full season review
after finishing the first season I can honestly say this is the best sci-fi done in a long time. after so many dumb-down American Sci-fi the Brits did it right, sort-of..
a good sci-fi changes only one major thing about science or the world while everything else react in a realistic manner. in this series the only thing you need to accept is that conscious droids can exist. they live in this world and are bound to its rules in every way. everyone react to this in a somewhat believable way. you also have nice side stories by all the cast involve. no charterer is overlooked or unexplained. I wasn't too found about the mothers rule and her relations ship with her husband was somewhat forced. other then that you understand who everyone is and what their motives are - and yet this isn't dragged out. no more lost style episodes where you watch 40 minutes just to learn one characters back story. the plot moves in a steady and sometimes even fast pace without dragging out anything it shouldn't. the only time the pace slows down is to help you fully understand how disturbing something is. there is often a deep chill from the overall idea of conscious machines and having them in your life or home when your not sure if you can control them. we are heading in that overall direction and while we don't have robots waltzing in our home we have endless devices "watching" our every move.
how about some rants? well, the most annoying thing you should try to overlook is that this is all happening today. somehow, we have unbelievable advanced robotics but we still need to drive our own gasoline cars - come on! also in the episodes: Microsoft surface, galaxy tab, Sony controllers, iphones and other too normal gadgets. as usual in all sci-fi series hacking seems too easy to read and follow while in real life code is complicated and can take a while to understand and manipulate. its not something you do in a few minutes and click enter on a surface tablet running windows 8 (ya, you see it often).
anyway, these are the only things stopping this series from being a solid 10. and they can be overlooked.
if you enjoy light sci-fi (no zombies or aliens) and good action drama you will enjoy this one.
Coffee Town (2013)
CH skit stretched too long
I like most of what college humor does but this one isn't it.
this feels like a sketch or a 30 minute sitcom episode stretched to a movie. the character development is close to nothing. the only character who gets any depth is the lead but hes just not that interesting to begin with. all the other character are static background that barely have anything to do with the movie and its story. your not sure how these guys meet and why they're even friends.
acting is OK and Ben schwartch is the best of them unfortunately he has a simple role to play that gets repetitive fast.
the story is very simple making you wounder why are you watching this and why so much effort was put into something so meaningless. the story tries to deliver some thought on life, karma and good and bad but barely scratches the surface.
if your bored and like simple comedy this ones fine but just about any other movie to TV show will better fill your time.
Jupiter Ascending (2015)
Sci-Fi goes Disney
wrongfully characterized and advertised. movie trailer tries to portray this move as a deep action sci-fi which it isn't even remotely close to.
if you are looking for an action sci-fi like matrix or star wars this isn't it. while having a complex world with some logical back story the story is clumsy at best. there are many holes gaps and general premises which are externally unlikely. your just supposed to smile and say oh well what the h.
so what is this movie about? this is a nice beauty and the beast movie fused to a sci-fi story. its fun, romantic and simple enough to be a family Disney movie. thats right. though sci-fi this movie will probably hit teenage girls soft spot. even the dragon monster is somewhat cute and relate able.
this is a fun light romantic action movie with some nice sci-fi ideas. nothing more. and who doesn't love Jacky!
its by no means a great movie but a nice 7/10 afternoon movie to watch with your family.
