The Gentlemen (2024)
Thoroughly enjoyable worthy of high ratings!
I'm a huge Guy Richie fan and The Gentlemen is spectacular I saw in the theater and I own the Blu-Ray! This series is a gem I've been meaning to watch sooner just not on Netflix much and have sleep struggles. The humor is excellent, story is magnificent love the main family, cast is awesome I must say generally I don't like Theo James except in White Lotus he's great in Gentlemen and so is Vinnie Jones loved him Snatch, and this mini series hits the spot wish there was more. I should own more movies by Guy Ritchie, I love Rock N' Rolla it's not mentioned enough. The chicken outfit is so great, I enjoy the brother in this I'd watch him more.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016)
Under appreciated
Sure not much better than 1 I would say Christopher is a better writer/director yet Edward Zwick's take is pretty enjoyable especially for the action and some of the dialogue is awesome sauce! The series on Amazon is phenomenal easy 10 and the previous Jack Reacher that came out in 2012 is a 9 it is very well made; yet Never Go Back is still a fun thrill ride. I would say the acting is on and off great don't know about robotic like someone else said that seems harsh, the story is great, cast is excellent, and the action triumphs everything. I like the betrayal of the army characters and how Cobie Smulders did her own stunts. Fun one deserves better!
Jack Reacher (2012)
After rewatching MI7 Christopher is so talented!
Seen a couple times back in the day even then I remember Jack Reacher being a comforting well made film! I didn't realize how good it is, action was sublimely done, script feels so smooth, and plenty of charm packed in. The actress that played Sandy is a dime I wish I could chat with her. Crazy how I watched this many years ago I didn't realize how excellent Christopher is at his craft truly impressive to me especially noticing how he wrote Usual Suspects, I want to own films by him and gosh I wish I could be as brilliant at writing/ directing. Complicated action extravaganza's are fascinating worthy of praise,
A Gentleman in Moscow (2024)
Great mini series
Ewan Mcgreggor is magnificent and it's awesome how Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in this they were both Fargo season 3 which was spectacular! A couple reviews were interesting odd how someone said to watch before reviewing yet that person reviewed April 6th quite hypocritical to say early on and I like how one other top reviewer mentions the history among other aspects not sure about the rewriting part most I've seen are still great regardless. Lots of charm, amazing set design, enjoyable story, and fantastic acting; probably only complaint is a little slow at times the bulk of it is really well made!
Sugar (2024)
Reminds me of the 2011 video game LA Noire - Which is excellent!
Very well made I probably could've started sooner but was into other shows and sleep struggles sometimes luckily I got 7 hours last night. Colin Ferrel is phenomenal in anything the last couple decades like Phone Booth, Horrible Bosses, The Batman, In Brugess, Banshees of Inishserin, The Gentlemen, The Lobster and Killing of a sacred Deer are amazing movies! My mom recommend Sugar I see why we both enjoy detective type shows this is especially well made, I noticed the ratings for each episode fluctuate to me this is worth high ratings and praise. Sugar is an awesome investigation series kinda glad I waited till all episodes are available.
IF (2024)
One of the best kids movies!
I missed the first few minutes cause I saw The Stranger first timing was little off and so glad I chose to see the RPX IF I wanted to see awhile regardless of the previous film. Anyway IF was so satisfying I loved all of it, the main cast, imagination was exceptional, so charming, very funny and one of the most heartwarming experiences I've had in a long in time! Genuinely deserves praise and nice ratings all around. Not sure if I'm over the top maybe it's silly I'm 31 a few months away from 32, I have Autism and very much enjoy my innocent side. John Krasinski created an exceptional gem I'll want to own when available although I'm of few that enjoys physical copies.
The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024)
I really enjoyed more than expected!
One guy that sat near me said it was horrible afterwards I disagree the tension and buildup was so good! Renny Harlin has been a legendary director since the 80's nice that he directed this, I love a bunch of his projects like Last Kiss Goodnight, Cliffhangar, and even Covenant among others. Stranger films are great horror I'm surprised there hasn't been more of them made. If there's any flaw it'd be a little bit of the dialogue was ridiculous a few times most everything was well done the terror so good, the music was great, and the acting was excellent. I think this deserves better for sure genuinely an awesome horror.
We Have a Ghost (2023)
Pretty good crazy been out over a year
Not sure why I didn't watch sooner - Love Christopher Landon's films! Nice for a ghost story first one by the director about a family the others were more about friends that have to survive some kind of madness like Scout vs. The apocalypse and Happy Death Day which are great id say even better than this yet We Have a Ghost is a great for what it is. Kinda offbeat, strange, colorful, and well made entertainment; love anything by the director. I'd say only reason I didn't watch sooner is cause of sleep struggles and generally not on Netflix much lucky enough I had amazing sleep last night regardless enjoyable one for what it is gets even better as it goes too!
Happy Gilmore (1996)
So much better than last couple movies I watched
I've seen a few times a long time ago I don't think I appreciated much before it truly is a gem and great goofball of an experience! Adam Sandler has been part of some excellent movies in his prime, Happy Gilmore is hilarious and wonderful entertainment for 90 minutes. Nice to see Carl Weathers and Julie Bowen I love them both. Such a pleasant awesome gem especially after watching a couple horrible movies on Netflix average service unfortunate this is leaving May 31st maybe other ways to watch great ones like this although I enjoy collecting physical copies as well. Gosh I love the way this was made so much fun!
Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)
Boring mess easy to hate!
I had hope that part two would be better than one but gosh this is like we'll have a little excitement in the first 30 minutes then proceed to have dreadful farm nonsense for way too long and not enough action till the last hour. Zack Snyder used to have some awesome movies like Dawn of the Dead remake, Sucker Punch, and Watchmen is masterful not sure about the last 4 movies even Justice League got hate until the long cut was released HBO along with Batman Vs. Superman is cheesy; just seems his movies got worse after each one and I'm pleased with the loads of hate Rebel Moon got!
The action is far and between or similar to that saying the best of it is basically stolen Star Wars with a different style to it maybe that's something the creators would be proud of it cause is kinda satisfying doesn't help much though. Movies like this and Unfrosted make me glad I don't use Netflix as much as other services. Rebel Moon should've been a mini series maybe that'd be different, I'm very disappointed.
Unfrosted (2024)
It's solid - More bad than anything!
Awesome cast easily the best aspect, interesting story although a little scattered still a fun goofball story. I had finished Modern Family, figured I'd watch a movie it's a fun one I think the flaws come from to many gags and could've been a drama or a documentary about pop tarts. Usually I'm the type to say something deserves better in this case it's just a mediocre story that's barely funny and stale.
Unfortunate there's more to be frustrated about I understand anyone that bashed Unfrosted, yet the charm around the colors/set is nice, the music is great, and cast is better in other stuff; so I would say there's a 60/40 cause the negative would be outweighed by the larger number! I'm nice about some of it but I must say I hate more than I like. I'm sure my review will be mixed which is fair just know this movie is bad.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
I got to see in theater today - Well worth it!
Crazy how George Lucas just turned 80 recently, such a legendary director for his visionary talent. I quite appreciated Phantom Menace, I only saw once awhile back didn't remember much except I love Jar Jar Binks crazy how originally he got hate. Pretty sure Star Wars is the only set of films that started out of order nearly 50 years ago yet this is Episode one which is excellent for what it is! I like how one of the top reviewers listed off the positives and cons I'd probably agree with them plenty of great aspects despite the cheesiness that's mashed in well. I wonder what happened to little Anakin's career I don't think he acts anymore. I don't understand why this even has been playing theaters I'm surely glad I got to see it.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
Tranquil even in imax
I loved this a lot even more than the last couple Ape films! An interesting aspect I appreciated the bulk of the movie had creatures focused and barely humans except Mae; no relation but Kong v Godzilla had a lot to do with the creatures I'm happy with that. The cast was phenomenal, the cinematography was magnificent, and flow of the story was great! Maybe it helped that I got to see this one in the theater and didn't do that with any of the other Planet of the apes films. I know Freya isn't related but she reminds me a lot of Keri Russell which is unique since she was in the previous one. Hope others loved as well deserves to be praised.
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015)
Gosh I love this movie!
Such a fun one I admire Logan Miller in anything I've seen him in even regardless the bulk of the movie is quite entertaining! I must say all of Christopher Landon's films are great, I own both Happy Death Day's I should try to get more. Scouts Guide to the zombie Apocalypse is a nice mix of young goofy behavior and zombie action delight glad this is on paramount I think I have digitally haven't checked in awhile. I miss high school days it's been many years the young demographic types are usually enjoyable at least the bulk of them, I would highly recommend this to anyone most zombie ones are great.
Wild Card (2015)
I can't believe the low ratings!
I'm not sure why I didn't watch sooner when I've had chances before but it's pretty good. I don't know why more didn't appreciate maybe pacing or some other reason great for Jason Statham, I enjoy most anything with him in it. I'm shocked by the 5.6 rating seems harsh at least deserves higher than a 6 the action is stylish greatness, well made and well written a few years before William passed away he was talented so was Anne Heche! I think the biggest flaw is slow pacing which is odd since Simon West directed Con Air early in his career that's a high octane ride with Vegas in it too. Pretty good for what it is though.
Solstice (2008)
2nd movie wit 5.3 rating on here!
I decided to watch cause Shawn Ashmore mentioned in the commentary for Mother's Day 2010 which is a much better film but Solstice is solid for young demographic and easy scares or the attempt of them. It's a sweet one nice for the young cast I love Amanda she blossomed quite a lot years after this. I really wish I could get Tubi not have ads but whatever for a service that has not common ones it's a decent service. Not much to this film I understand the low ratings from anyone. The main actress is lovely don't think I've seen her in anything before this; nice amount of terror mashed in and weird vibes cherry on top of everything R. Lee Emery he was a legend!
Mother's Day (1980)
Remake is better but this is good!
I sorta feel like I've seen awhile ago but I don't remember lucky the film is available on Tubi I've never watched on the service only scrolled a couple times Mother's Day is a nice choice for the first movie to watch on Tubi; wow I didn't realize there's a bunch of ads I'd pay to not have any I probably wont use much because of the ads Tubi just has movies other services don't. Anyway not bad for a 44 year old movie fairly clumsy the remake by Darren Lyn Bousman only has one bit that's silly when one of the criminals try's to kick the door down and didn't need to. Not much horror more satire and a bit gritty/morbid. I don't know why this has a 5.3 rating deserves better than that!
Ricky Stanicky (2024)
Very enjoyable
I didn't realize till a bit ago this is by Peter Farrelly I absolutely love his films! Such a fun movie crazy how it's all about a huge lie and John Cena is great in comedy, I'm more used to him being in action or a meme. The lead cast is so great, the flow is excellent and nice to watch after a few horror movies I watched before this. Well made crazy how the director used to work with his brother years ago at least they make movies still. Wild how effective the Ricky lie becomes with everyone involved and I'm glad this has solid ratings it deserves the praise; I love more than expected hope others do too!
Run Sweetheart Run (2020)
Average at best
Been meaning to watch years ago not sure why I haven't but it is a solid thrill ride. Mediocre feels I wasn't sure at first about the hate but there are a few flaws scattered all over. The acting is great and unsettling vibes are pretty well done! There's some awesome bits like when Run is on the screen that is magnificently done. Odd how sudden things change from wholesome to madness quicker than expected and the tampon dilemma shouldn't even be part of the movie so I guess I see why this got hate. I would say Hulu had a much better take on a date gone wrong called Fresh movie is spectacular!
Hazbin Hotel (2019)
Quite awesomeness!
I enjoy every genre mashed in except the musical aspect even that is satisfying. The colors are brilliant, the show is comforting, voices are phenomenal, and the madness is glorious! Odd it came out it in 2019 except the pilot the show and continued in 2024 that's probably the only show that has done that. Besides a few adult elements like the vulgarities and a little bit of inappropriate behavior it would be targeted at teen audiences so that's fair. I have been into a few other shows but I'm glad I decided to binge this wild animated ride Hazbin Hotel is it's very worth high ratings no matter who is into the show it's great entertainment.
Fallout (2024)
Masterful worthy of high ratings!
I've only played a bit of Fallout 3 on PS3 years ago and this makes me want to play more of the games available at least for me since I only have PS5 now regardless would highly recommend this to anyone! The amazing flow of directing, soundtrack is fire, casting is great and I must say I enjoy anything from Jonathan Nolan; ironically my last name is Nolan I'm just not related to anyone famous.
I haven't had Amazon since January before today the Fallout series is perfect choice back to the service in my opinion Amazon and HBO are the best entertainment I never understood the hype with Netflix it's enjoyable occasionally. Anyways though Fallout is phenomenal in every aspect, I appreciate the authenticity of the of everything put into everything. I definitely want to play more of the games soon.
Seriously my review got hate already if it makes a difference I have autism.
The Fall Guy (2024)
Absolutely loved it
I've felt a bit rough today yet still wanted to see the early ish screening in IMAX so worth it! I own all the other David Leitch films I'll definitely want to own this one. So well made entertainment, great humor most of the way through a couple times I was the only one laughing, all of the action was outstanding I'm sure all the stunt work was fun, and great dialogue! Pretty sure this is David's first PG-13 film all the others are rated R, great for more audience I even got to see next to a beautiful mom that smelled really good that was nice she seemed to enjoy quite a bit too. I even biked home despite having 4 hours sleep and was achy; well worth it no matter what I hope others love Fall Guy as well!
Challengers (2024)
Sensational, enticing and worthy of awards!
I loved this so much even for someone that barely is into sports everything about it is well done and engaging great cinema - so glad I saw in RPX. The soundtrack is genius, acting is magnificent deserving of praise, the screenplay is great even the guy that sat next to me said that afterwards and I very much enjoy anything by Luca the director is very talented! I love Mike Faist performance I want to see more of him and Zendaya is a gem in anything I've seen her in she deserves the Emmy's she's won.
I'm not sure why there's a few top ones that gave this a 5 Challengers genuinely is worthy of any praise for every aspect especially story and wonderful romance. Sorry if my review isn't a certain way if it makes a difference I have autism I appreciate movies differently.
Boy Kills World (2023)
Excellent wild ride
I believe this counts as one man army and if so Beekeeper was better for that aspect this year although Boy Kills World is definitely awesome! Bill Skarrsgard is so talented in anything I've seen him in, you can tell he's in exceptional shape which is impressive always and admirable. This has some bonkers amazing action sequences, great story, some silliness, and highly entertaining; this deserves solid ratings by many! I think it's wonderful how Famke Jensen worked with Bill before years before on a series I forget the name but I'm glad they did again in this extraordinary action experience that is a lot of fun.
Knuckles (2024)
Shocked by the negativity!
This hits the spot and maybe meant not to be taken too seriously. I love the soundtrack a lot, the humor, wild action, and epic entertainment vibes packed in! I can't believe this got so much hate in the last couple days since release I mean there's a little bit of ridiculousness but overall it's well made all around. Knuckles (Idris Elba) is so great and I really appreciate the fun vibes it's so enriching of heartwarming nature; to me the crew behind everything perfected it. Adam Polly is wonderful in anything as well, I genuinely don't understand the the hate this got it's a pure blast in the bulk of it.
