Your Place or Mine (2023)
We needed a rom com but this wasn't it
I have been dying to watch a new rom com and was really excited about this as I'm a big supporter of Reese as a producer and she has been making some good shows and movies lately, however this was not up to mark. While Reese's acting is generally enjoyable, Ashton is uncomfortable to watch, there is no charisma and definitely 0 chemistry between the two. The gardener character was pointless and they have missed the marks on what used to make a good old rom com. I guess the same happened with something about Tiffany movie, it's like they have the budget and actors but are not able to recreate a good rom com vibe and flow. Real shame!
Enlightened (2011)
There should be more series like this!
As a 37 years old woman who has gone through a major enlightening phase over the last few years I find this series extremely relatable and powerful. It portraits all the stage of awakening and the new vision of life that comes after... feeling extremely alienated by people that won't understand the new you and longing to find those that will, as well as finding ways to put your new found purpose into action.
I loved it! I really wished there were more of these type of series.
4 metà (2022)
Fun and enjoyable
I agree with some other reviews that it is a big confusing with the constant couple switching and that part could've been done better, but nevertheless it was very enjoyable and innovative movie, dialogues were very relatable and the final message is so spot on in my opinion!
And Just Like That... (2021)
Why? Just why?
Why the all woke crap and cringe worthy dialogues?
I just want escapism after this past two years and was counting on few laughs and some girls talk that SATC used to provide.
I will continue watching it to see what happens but i really pray that it improves...😌
Acapulco (2021)
Escapism at his best
I get that these days series have to be either controversial, political or "squid game" brutal to differentiate themselves but I think we need more of these easy watch good feeling series right now. Yes it's not realistic, yes could be better but it's enjoyable, characters are likeable and the visual are fun, so yes let's not be overly critical about it and compare it to other series out there who are trying to push the boundaries. So far so good!
Evil: F Is for Fire (2021)
Do your research please
I loved that they tried to incorporate Islam and adding a Muslim character like they have done in the past in the good fight (the converted judge was great) however when adding a Muslim character would be good to check with a practising Muslim if what they are planning to show would actually be accurate. They should've reversed the religions of the couple and then it would've been kind of ok as a Muslim man can marry a christian woman, also the adoption is a touchy subject in Islam and not considered adoption per se, the sheikh wouldn't have agreed to visit their house.
Please check out the Muslimvisibilitychallenge that the actor Riz Ahmed launched, we need to have Muslims represented in film and tv properly so research is the key!
The Good Fight: The Gang Is Satirized and Doesn't Like It (2020)
What happened to this series?
I was so excited to watch the new series but it just feels off, I just cringed watching the first 4 episodes, I feel like I'm watching a different show, I miss Diane and Lucca's dialogues from the previous series, please bring back the good wife flavour.
Modern Love (2019)
Absolutely loved it!
I binged watch it and didn't regret it!
The acting is beautiful and the stories despite being fictionalised are actually true felt.
The episode about bipolar disorder is awesome and Anne Heathway's performance was great.
I hope they make more of these!
