A Most Wanted Man (2014)
Do not miss this film, its a classic.
Sixth or seven time watching, 6.7 on imdb is about the worse case of ranking on that site. Its a 10, PSH performance more resonant knowing his demons & demise were round the corner. Casting is as good as it gets, its on film4 for a revisit or first timer.
The plot, acting, scenery, tempo, not a scene wasted. The simmering darkness keeps you hooker in all the way through. Also one of my fav endings ever to a movie.
We all read about the murky world of politics terrorism and banking, this film just splices it all together perfectly.
John le Carré's novel so eloquently dealt with by Anton Corbijn, a man who made The American & Control both excellent and underrated movies imho.
Boiling Point (2021)
Mitchelin Star Performances
Not one weak performance, outstanding film that deserves to get showered in awards. A stressful watch made more so having had experience working in busy resturants & bars. 10/10.
Liverpool Narcos (2021)
Good watch for the interviews
Docs try various styles to tell their story & was a bit meh with drama scenes but interviews are aces.
London geezer charismatic addict reminded me of a fair few fellas in the contacts list over the years, was lolling and disgusted at same time. Liverpool comes across as the real winner, treated terribly for years by the government but the people overcome. People's views on the drug industry prolly won't be changed but i learned a lot more about the mentality of the people of Liverpool criminals, civilians & the rehabilitated and was mostly all very positive.
High Maintenance (2016)
Well worth your time, very original
10/10
U never know where it's going, love n hate some stories + characters along the journey but what a journey, exploring a cities soul, the story telling is wonderful, awards all round.
Bob Servant Independent (2013)
10/10 comedy gold I missed 1st time round.
Simply the greatest thing to have happened to me during the lockdown was discovering this show.
A mix of eccentric, great acting, the funniest script I've heard in years and the magical backdrop.
It's wonderful on so many levels, writer & creator Neil Forsyth.
