Darned Good Flick
12 December 2011
Hey, I'm sorry, but this was a darned good flick. I've always been a history buff which usually means that I'm in for a disappointment when it comes to period pieces. No so, this movie. Yes, Tom and his son have an improbable journey but I understand it's a vehicle that allows the audience to get a view of the revolution from different viewpoints. Yes, Last of the Mohicans was a "beautiful" movie as was Patriot, but Revolution feels real.

I think the only reason some people criticized the movie is because they had trouble with the Yank accent that Pacino used. What did they expect, for him to say, "Say hello to my little flintlock friend!"

Alien (1979)

Where have I seen this before?
18 February 2005
I remember sitting in the theater watching "Alien" when it first came out. It really gave me the creeps. What made it worse was I had the strangest feeling I had seen this very same movie when I was a kid. It took me almost two years for me to put my finger on it.

While at a video store, I saw the cover of an old SciFi flick that scared the bejeezus out of me when I was about 5 years old. The movie was called "It, The Terror From Beyond Space." Scott obviously saw this movie and took those aspects that scared the pants off an five year old and turned it into something that scared the pants off a twenty-five year old (at the time).

More than twenty years later, I still believe the two greatest SciFi flicks ever are "Alien" and "It, The Terror Beyond Space."

The best cave man movie ever!
18 February 2005
Okay, there haven't been many cave man flicks and they were all bad except for Quest For Fire. Yes, the mammoths looked a bit like Mr. Snuffolopogus and some of the makeup jobs could've been done better but it's still a great movie.

The story line was captivating and the characters were well-developed. Even though there were no subtitles, I could still understand everything that was being said because of the way the movie was put together.

This flick has it all: Action, adventure, comedy, and romance. I loved it.
