Now I know where Tubi shows learned their trade.
17 March 2024
My wife watches this show and it is absolutely DREADFUL! The horrible writing, horrible dialogue, the worse than horrible acting! The plot is an inconsistent mess. I believe the writer(s) constantly forget where they left off after each episode. I also believe the writers are middle schoolers that are living out their fantasy through bad writing, while the actors are pretending to act. I honestly don't know how this show made it through 4 seasons, unless people just enjoy terrible shows. If I was forced to give up TV forever or watch this entire series, I guess books and radio would be my only form of entertainment.

Female Columbo and I love it!
2 March 2024
Wife and I watched the first episode and immediately fell in love with Elsbeth. While she reminds us of Columbo, she is her own person and we love it. She is quirky and devilish. She has kind of a gleam in her eyes that lets you know there is a lot going on behind them. She is witty, funny and possesses the wonder of a child and the disposition of someone I would like as a friend in real life. You learn from the beginning she has seen a lot but does not appear to let it darken her view of the world around her. So far the cast of characters come off as reasonable and for TV surprisingly realistic. We are patiently waiting for the next episode and hope the show continues to shine.

Dry. Boring. Poorly written.
25 January 2023
This movie was a boring, poorly written wannabe old style western. The characters are dumb. The story is dumb. The pacing almost put me to sleep. It has a few and very few good spots. It is a waste of some very good actors. It is also a waste of almost 2 hours. It was predictable. It felt like a story a lucky grown up would write because he saw a western when he was a kid and someone gave him a lot of money and too much time on their hands. The characters were so one dimensional when they turned sideways I couldn't see them. When people give a movie good scores while wearing nostalgia glasses they dismissed what makes a movie good and that is story, pacing, visuals and great acting.

Not good bad, just bad bad.
11 January 2023
The movie started out decent and went down slowly. The writing is AWEFUL!! All the characters are STUPID and DUMP and STUPID! The acting was not the worst I have seen, but it was pretty bad. The acting and story was like a badly designed roller coaster. I thought it was going to be B movie bad, but it was F movie trash! The production values were pretty good. Good camera work. But the HORRIBLE writing killed this movie! Marques Houston really believed in his project enough that he starred in it. Tubi is the home of horribly written and poorly acted under the trash bin F movies. I don't mind a bad movie, but dreadful is hard to swallow.

The magic of The Orville
7 October 2022
The Orville does what Star Trek did on a few occassions. They blend, serious, silly and realistic human interactions in a way I have only seen on a few Star Trek series. The writing in NOT the best, however it is really really really good. The issues are real and the way they are presented is almost genius. This episode is about slavery and told by 2 different stories without losing the message from either story. The relationships feel authentic. The acting is always on point. The humor is feels natural. This is another episode that made me think, feel and laugh! I love this series and I enjoy the direction is it going.

I'M NOT CRYING, YOU ARE!

The Orville: A Tale of Two Topas (2022)

The feels are real!
6 October 2022
I watched this episode and I was getting all kind of emotions. I usually suppress (I kid). It was a powerful and emotional episode. It deals with many issues and if you are open to alternative points of view, you will have you thinking about what you know and what you believe. If you think The Orville is a goofy Star Trek knock off, it is, however it is much more. It's fun, thought provoking and deeper than you would ever imagine. Do yourself a favor and give this show a chance! I chocked up multiple times and I am glad I watched it and would be happy to watch it multiple times GREAT EPISODE!!!

I don't get it.
26 April 2021
I watched the first 2 (mini movie) episodes and found it annoying and dumb. The characters were annoying, unlikable, unbelievable and unwatchable. Maybe I am missing something, but the writing was sloppy and all over the place. The characters acted in way more people in my experience don't. . It started out interesting and with some potential, than it got lost in all the contrived drama and weak slapstick comedy. If it was labeled as a comedy, maybe I could accept it more, however Netflix did not label it as such. My 2 cents.
