The Stand (2020)
Definitely worth a chance
I'm a fan of King. I have accepted that the majority of his books will not be done justice by their movies. In doing that years ago it finally allowed me to enjoy the cinematic versions for their entertainment value without trying to pick them apart. I loved the casting. Had a hard time seeing Goldberg as Abigail but ( meh ). I like the timeline they used here but wonder if I didn't know the story and were a new viewer with no prior knowledge of it, would I have been confused ? I feel it may have been difficult to follow for anyone who is new to the Stand. Overall though I felt the series was enjoyable, loved the characters and the new take on it. Still love the original as well and of course the book. You can never beat the book.
Black Is King (2020)
Disappointing
In the middle of our quest to be united, Beyoncé is tossed into the limelight with the assistance of Disney to make an hour and a half long music video titled to elevate the importance of one race above all others. I fully support teaching kids to be proud and feel good about themselves. What I don't support is teaching them to think they're better than everyone else or in some way royalty. Btw, Beyoncé, monarchs are oppressive. Perhaps it's time to stop being a hypocrite.
Honeymoon (2014)
Lackluster...
I just watched this movie on Hulu. I had never heard of it and didn't realize it has been out awhile. The trailer looked promising! But unfortunately this one turned out to be a dud unless you like open ended movies with no closure/answers. If a movie isn't a good story answering The Who what when where why and how.... I'll pass. It would've been nice to at least be thought provoking and open for some interpretation but I saw nothing. It had potential to be a great movie but it seems like the writers fell asleep every ten minutes
