Irish Wish (2024)
Adequate
Perfectly adequate movie to kill two hours. It's predictable, cringe worthy at moments and very very easily see through. Every "twist" will be seen coming from miles away. But I can't help but to let a part of me enjoy it. It reminds me of the early 2000s straight to VHS movies that you regrettably rented.
The scenery however is beautiful but the characters are somewhat unbelievable. The main issue with them are that none of them make any rational decisions at any point. There are so many points normal people would have have acted very differently leading to some very cringe worthy moments that can't be excused.
All in all I think you should avoid this unless you're strapped for choice.
My Name Is Earl (2005)
Proper feel good tv
I loved watching this when I was a kid, coming home from school and seeing this with a glas of chocolate milk and a toast.
I wondered if it was all nostalgia, so I turned it on and it has quickly become my new show after work. It's got the perfect level of good jokes, disconnected stories meaning you can turn off your brain and almost always end with a happy or comedic ending.
Earl comes off as a incredibly sympathetic character as he attempts to change, despite his rough life of crime and debauchery, cheating wife and trailer park style. You can't help but to constantly root for the guy and like him.
If you're looking for something to turn off your brain to, just enjoy and relax to. This is the perfect show for you.
Barbie (2023)
Excellent marketing team.
They really did some fantastic marketing with this movie.
It's not exactly bad. It's just mediocre. It's very pretty to look at, and some of the music is actually quite funny and fitting.
But this is nowhere near what was advertised, it's not a fun jokey movie that brought homage to old movies, some saterical jokes etc. It's that, followed by story with heaaaavy messaging, followed again by a quick joke.
However none of it is funny or interesting enough to justify its runtime. The ending in particular was very obvious and just kept going, it's so clear they want you to feel something but you don't. It's just not interesting enough with the story they out forth and how long the "ending" goes on for.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
The continued ruination of characters
Did you enjoy watching your favourite hero in star wars as a lone homeless pathetic old man, needing to be saved and shown the way by a younger English woman?
Well boy then you'll love this! Because this is the exact same formula again, Indiana Jones is a sad old man throughout the movie, and always rescued by the smart, quick witted unlikeable "supporting character" (It's really her film)
If you've never seen Indiana Jones, maybe you'll like it. If you've seen it before, spare yourself the horror and let Indiana stay as he was in yourr memories. The Disney formula is so incredibly painful and easy to see through.
