A good, funny, slightly naive comedy
21 February 2024
A good, funny, slightly naive comedy. I can't even imagine who would be cast as Brendan Fraser if not Brendan Fraser himself. Only he could play such a brutal big handsome guy with childish habits!

Christopher Walken as a caring father, a husband who is always on guard for his family (and it doesn't matter that he's been underground for 35 years, but it's safe) and loved ones. Honestly, when I saw the first frames of the film and Christopher Walken, I thought it was a thriller, in which Walken would play a maniac who locked his family in a bunker and would never let anyone out, I honestly didn't expect such a good turn of events, and it was a little unusual to see him in such a role.

In general, there is a good idea in the film: first, the parents raised a good son, invested in him, taught him the classical treatment of women (how all this is missing now!), and then he made the parents so happy by ensuring their old age.

Of course, the plot is fabulous, but this film can be watched again and again, it makes sense.

Sound of Freedom
16 February 2024
A tale based on true events about former US government agent Tim Ballard, who left the service to devote his life to saving children from sex slavery.

"Sound of Freedom" is a message first and a story second. The idea of the film is to draw attention and open eyes to the horrors of child sex trafficking. And the film does this by showing sickening and heartbreaking scenes of children (though the details are left behind the scenes) in danger, being fooled by disgusting adults, forcing us to remember everyone's faces. Such episodes were specially inserted into the picture in order to produce a greater effect, to evoke strong emotions, driving what they saw into the memory with nails - revealing a problem that for some reason is often kept silent or considered indecent to mention out loud.

Turning to the artistic part of the film, we get a disturbing thriller, where the plot centers on a government agent almost single-handedly trying to restore justice and return children to their parents. And while Tim is a somewhat formulaic and overly heroic protagonist, he is a deeply thoughtful and often painful look at the life of a man working to bring down the world's fastest-growing crime syndicate.

As a result, the film beats the drum loudly with a powerful message to society, shedding light on darkness, evoking strong emotions and instilling hope.

Insomnia (2002)

From Norway to Alaska
14 February 2024
From Norway to Alaska I respect Al Pacino. I support Robin Williams, especially in his dramatic endeavors. I don't like Hilary Swank, but that's a small matter. I have a lukewarm attitude toward director Christopher Nolan. But for some time I really liked the film 'Insomnia'. Until I got acquainted with the original - a Norwegian film under the same name, it seems, released in 1999.

Yes, the American film is professionally tailored. Well played. Its disadvantages are visible only if you know how it could have been (and it was!). And it was: brilliant.

Al Pacino overacts. He goes out of his way to try to prove to the viewer how much he wants to sleep. During the entire film, the Swedish actor not only didn't yawn once, but he himself seemed to have no idea that he wasn't getting enough sleep. And at the same time, his fatigue poured off the screen. How? A miracle, probably. In the Norwegian original, the main character is not a hero at all. Pacino again released a caricatured brave comic, a man of honor and conscience. And the scriptwriters conceived of him as an ordinary person, quite unpleasant by the way, with human emotions and shortcomings.

Robin Williams is the most organic. Although again, one cannot help but notice some of the grotesqueness of his character. He plays the villain. He is obsessively unpleasant. Purely Hollywood approach - 'good character' versus 'bad character'. And God forbid the viewer confuses them.

The ending absolutely killed me. In "Insomnia" 2002, she aroused distrust in me for a long time. But now I know for certain that nothing like this was expected.

In 2002's Insomnia, there is a sense of a great idea that falls apart as the film progresses, and by the end there is no trace of it left at all. Why do unknown Scandinavian actors play incomparably better than Hollywood stars of the first magnitude who receive $20 million per film? Well, who said that everything in life is fair?

Last Holiday (2006)

There are few films that teach you to love life.
24 September 2023
In fact, there are few films that teach you to love life. Achieving peace and love is a dime a dozen, but the films that instill in us a love for life can be counted on one hand. This is exactly the film 'The Last Holiday'.

It tells the story of a woman who can't lift her head because of her job, she has a 'wish diary', but she has no family and doesn't even know how to attract the attention of her loved one. And then she finds out that she will soon die... Of course, well aware that her life is worthless, she begins to fulfill her dreams...

The inimitable Queen Latifah played this role perfectly, for which she has great respect! The film turned out to be romantic, beautiful, and despite all the tragedy of the plot, it was very funny!

After watching this film, I realized that you need to fulfill all your dreams, no matter what happens, never give up and always believe in yourself and your capabilities! The film turned out to be very lively and interesting. I recommend it for home viewing!

Thanks to Wayne Wang and the entire film crew!

Waterworld (1995)
8/10
Absolutely undeservedly forgotten blockbuster.
13 July 2023
Probably, it's not worth reminding once again that in 1995 "Water World" made a splash on the contrary. Even before the premiere, the film was accompanied by multiple scandals, a significant overspending of the original budget, relations on the set were, to put it mildly, strained, a few weeks before the end of filming, the director left the project, the theatrical version was stolen by filibusters a few months before the premiere ... The hundred and seventy millionth colossus crumbled at the box office , earning not much more money, which allowed him to write down one of the biggest failures in the history of cinema.

However, a decade and a half later, you don't remember such things and try to enjoy watching. Yes, it's still a larger-than-life-blockbuster that's just plain fun to watch from start to finish. Before us is the future: distant, gloomy and depressing. An apocalypse has once again happened on Earth: the polar ice has melted, turning our Earth into a large and unified ocean. Only a handful of people survived, who learned to live in the new water world. Among them is a lonely wanderer, about whom practically nothing is known: no one even knows his name, and therefore "death cannot find him."

"Water World" is to some extent a remake of the immortal classic of the post-apocalyptic genre - "Road Warrior". In the picture of George Miller, the world has turned into a huge desert, and society has degraded to unthinkable limits. In the Kevin Reynolds film, the same thing happened, only instead of a sandy desert, water. There was a cooler than cool silent protagonist, driving around in the most sophisticated vehicle of the new world. There is a cooler than cool silent protagonist with the most fancy boat even by the standards of the modern world. Both Max and the Sailor were helping a peculiar group of hippies trying to build a new world, protecting them from a gang of thugs who value the unprecedented luxury item - gasoline / oil above all else. However, in the "Water World" the main character is still more advanced: if you live in a water world, then what could be cooler than a person with gills (forget about the hundreds of thousands of years of evolution required for such a fact) and able to breathe underwater , which allows him to extract one of the most valuable resources - land?

"Water World" fits all the parameters of a blockbuster from the nineties: big, large-scale, noisy, senseless and merciless. But the film, which was not accepted in its time, has not lost its entertainment at all. It's still full of memorable scenes, from the jaw-dropping introduction of the protagonist and his boat to the chilling shots of the former Denver; from the most luxuriously executed and filmed attack on the atoll to a downhole ambush at oil traders; from the immortal "Adios, brothers" to the no less canonical "She is my friend"; from caricatured villains and characters to Dennis Hopper enjoying every second of his image...

Verdict: Absolutely undeservedly forgotten blockbuster.

Hostage (2005)
8/10
What was the happiest day of your life? Mine today. (c)
6 July 2023
Because of my longstanding love for our All Nut, John McClane, oh sorry, Bruce Willis, I could not deny myself the pleasure of purchasing this film. Painfully familiar eyes full of determination and fright looked at me from the cover, on a painfully familiar face, warped by a tight thought of saving everything that is possible. Since that day, my world has been turned upside down!

Bruce was amazing as always! Having shocked the audience a little at the beginning of the picture, appearing to the world with full-screen hair and the same beard, after a few minutes Nut brought everyone out of the coma, appearing in the already beloved image of the "bald knee". At the "knee", as always, everything was bad! A prestigious job in the police was replaced by a non-prestigious one, in a provincial police department of an American town. And in submission was no longer a hostage rescue detachment in the person of strong, brave men in helmets, but a couple of African Americans, several whites and a granny in uniform - invariably receiving calls from the population. In general, such a family environment, peaceful. What can not be said about the situation in the family of our hero - the wife was about to leave, the daughter also throws out a pretzel, even the dog looks askance. As a result, Willis in his favorite role of the sufferer!

Here, in one of the series of the same "fun" calm days, fate brings Bruce, or rather his hero Jeff Talley, with three thugs who decided to rob a rich bourgeois house - to rent a car. Well, as usual, everyone got to the fullest! The scumbags made a mistake with the gate and locked themselves in the house of the mafia accountant. The accountant made a mistake by filling his house with a super-tracking system, but not bothering to squint at least one eye at the monitors. Well, our hero Talley, not at a good hour, showed his face on TV in the news! And the stray ones rushed. The scumbags have completely gone crazy, or rather one of them. Jeff was caught by the mafia and, recalling his old merits, breathing passionately in his ear, ordered to get a secret disk from the house, otherwise his unsmiling family would be knocked. Well, the inhabitants of the house began to wag the nerves of the entire police in the district with calls and groans for salvation! Well, the day didn't get shorter in the morning.

In general, the film was shot with a claim to a stylish cool action movie. Yes, not just like that, but a cool European action movie! The first association that came to my mind was the French film "The Wasp's Nest". Everything was very reminiscent of his style, the same unhurried, but oppressive atmosphere of the beginning, quite memorable characters, colorful mafiosi and a hot, powerful finale. Imagine my surprise when, after a decent time, I found out that the director of The Hostage, Florent Emilio Siri, is the director of The Wasp's Nest. So, the diamond eye did not let me down! It's nice to realize.

But to see something did not last Florent, did not calculate. Maybe the story turned out to be not so interesting for the American audience, maybe there were not enough villains, but the fact remains that the film was received extremely cool. Neither in the US nor in the world box office, the picture did not even collect its own budget. Like, a lot of stamps and templates, and even the presence of good actors and special effects did not save the movie! Although, in my opinion, there is nothing terrible there, it turned out very stylish, lively and soundly, but this is in my opinion. But what all critics of the film agreed on was that the only motive for watching this action was the appearance of a new hellish soton to the people, excuse me, the main scumbag Mars Krapchek, performed by the young actor Ben Foster. All the critics then really went crazy and sang as one about the birth of a new star. And they were right. It was at the moment when Mars Krapchek appeared on the screen that my world turned upside down!

That's really who lights up in the literal and figurative sense, so it's Foster. A mixture of sensual gothic romance and chilling horror from the crazy eyes of a maniac - hits on the spot. From the first appearance in the frame, Mr. Foster lets everyone know that he did not just appear here, a colorful look, a colorful look, a colorful behavior. And now everything seems to be silent for the most part, but if he says something or looks or does something - that's it, put out the light, it's impossible to break away from this magnetic kid. And most importantly, the viewer constantly balances on the fine line from hatred and contempt to sympathy and pity for this sensual villain with vicious sad eyes.

The script, written based on the novel by Robert Crice "The Hostage", of course, redrawn a lot of things from the original source, in particular the same Mars Krapchek, for which I would like to say many thanks to the creators and bow from the waist for their trust in Foster, who, judging by their own statements, discovered a completely different Karpchek than he simply conquered everyone. If they had taken on the role of an exact copy of the literary Mars, a completely different spectacle would have awaited us (although my advice is to read the book, it is extremely curious). Maybe this is bad, maybe the book Mars would shock the audience to the core ... or maybe not. Perhaps there would be another crazy maniac with huge cockroaches in his head, otherwise we got the most complex and attractive image.

Die Hard 2 (1990)
9/10
God, you're up to your neck in terrorists again, John.
5 July 2023
  • They say there were terrorists at the airport?

Yes, I heard that too.

Usually, sequels don't often turn out great, and sometimes they are completely disappointing. But Die Hard is a completely different level and a different situation. Like it's Christmas again, terrorists again, but it's still gorgeous. More than 30 years have passed, but what does it look like. You watch, enjoy, laugh, at times you cry for a time that cannot be returned. But how awesome is that. Words cannot describe. It must be felt. I feel.

The fact that the director of the tape changed did not spoil the film. John McTiernan's place was taken by Renny Harlin, who for a long time was associated with Rock Climber for me, and here his direction is very cool and memorable.

At first, the more frequent scenes between John and Holly are missing, their love in the first film was very captivating, especially feelings. But in the end, of course, there will be romance and it fully satisfies my needs.

John McLain again single-handedly tries to stop the bad guys, he jokes again, he has great charisma, he tries to reach people, no one believes in him, he tries to explain the obvious again. His wrestling looks still in the same breath, everything is like in childhood, only even better. Earlier in childhood, apart from wow and great, you can hardly understand the depth of what is happening. For you, it's just spectacular, after so much time you look at a lot from a completely different angle.

Bruce Willis. John McLain is very happy with his jokes, his fights and shootouts. Against him, the opponent is no less tough than Hans from the first part. And their confrontation was very cool and spectacular, just like with his opponents.

Bonnie Bedelia. Holly is mostly on the plane and communicates with John from there, but of course everything changes in the denouement, their feelings are still a very important component of the film.

Dennis Franz. One of my favorite secondary characters. How John fought with him. How I tried to get through to him. For the time being, for a time, he seemed like an ordinary bureaucrat. Their dialogues with John are perceived as something special. Yes, and the character later changes for the better. It doesn't get so stuffy.

Tom Bower. As the janitor, Marvin added to the atmosphere of the film, and he had a pleasant impression of interacting with John.

William Sadler. Colonel Stewart is a cold-blooded and intelligent villain who does everything right, it's nice to look at such a tough opponent. Who can not be called a standard villain, he has everything according to plan and he is really good, it is clear that even John MacLaine recognizes his strength, it is felt.

John Amos. His character is not as cool as it seemed with his first appearance. At first, he seems like a very tough professional who will stop Stuart. I was waiting for their confrontation, but soon a lot of things change in him, of course he played his role great and there are no complaints about him, but the first impression was of course better.

Hard Die 2 is like a good wine. It gets better and better over the years. The atmosphere, the direction, the acting are all top notch. Watch and enjoy. And the golden 90s, and the way they filmed, dynamics, action, jokes, Christmas. Everything is very cool even after more than 30 years. And more than a worthy continuation of the cult film.

The Fugitive (1993)
9/10
In my opinion, The Fugitive is one of the coolest and most spectacular detective thrillers of the 90s
28 June 2023
In my opinion, The Fugitive is one of the coolest and most spectacular detective thrillers of the 90s, combining a great production, a chic cast and a great story that takes the viewer on a more than two-hour film journey.

Successful surgeon Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) loses everything in an instant after he is accused of killing his wife. In an effort to prove his innocence, Kimble escapes from the prison bus and begins his own investigation. The only thing is that he is being followed by a group of federal marshals, led by Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones), who is experienced in searching for criminals, who can even find a needle in a haystack.

Director Andrew Davis, for whom The Fugitive was a terrific success (neither earlier nor later works were so successful), managed to put on a film amazing in its tension, presenting, albeit as old as the world, a story about an undeservedly accused and trying to clear his name man , in bright colors.

Tommy Lee Jones played absolutely amazing, perfectly performing the image of a federal marshal, for whom the main thing is a sober mind and cold calculation, and emotions are relegated far into the background. This is clearly demonstrated by Jones' "I don't care" after Ford's character told him he didn't kill his wife. Even with a trapped man in front of him, practically confessing to him, Sam Gerard does his duty first and foremost. And it is possible to figure out who the killer is after the arrest. Tommy Lee Jones rightfully deserved an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, and his hero, Sam Gerard, turned out to be a memorable, charismatic, tenacious and cold person. But damn smart and insightful. In general, if we talk about Tommy Lee, he always succeeds in the role of law enforcement officers. Probably the whole point is in the appearance of the actor, which is conducive to itself and causes a certain feeling of calmness, if there is such a person next to you.

In addition to one statuette, "The Fugitive" received a bunch of nominations, among which was the best film (but then "Schindler's List" was awarded this title). The film actually turned out to be chic in the performance of their immediate duties and the acting troupe and the film crew. Great merit in the quality of the film belongs to the cameraman Michael Chapman, who worked repeatedly with Martin Scorsese before The Fugitive. This camera shop mastodon put his eye to the lens, filming such works as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, American Boy (all Scorsese), Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys and Roger Spottiswoode's Fire to Kill.

"The Fugitive" is a classic plot of a story about the police chasing a bad guy, from the very beginning of which the viewer empathizes with the protagonist, who turned out to be a hostage of circumstances. Throughout the film, the viewer will have to deal with this crime together with Ford's hero, trying to understand the truth of the killer's motives. Due to this, the film is watched in one breath and even despite the duration of 130 minutes, it does not cause a feeling of boredom, because the investigation process (set and executed great) keeps you in suspense and does not lose interest.

However, watch for you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.

Enjoy watching.

The Rock (1996)
8/10
All health, peace and good cinema!
18 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This year the film turned twenty-seven years old and a new acquaintance with the tape is timed not only to this date, but also to a complete acquaintance with the filmography of Michael Bay. The debut of the future cosplayer James Cameron, not in the style of directing, but in terms of the atmosphere on the set, happened on the film 'Bad Boys', with which they ran for more than one month before launching it into production. The debut turned out, we will analyze it in more detail later. And today we will review 'The Rock', considered by critics to be Michael Bay's best film, only 'The Island' got closer, but this is debatable. Next, I will share my impressions of a new acquaintance and some thoughts regarding this work. Get your drinks ready, let's get started.

Narrative criterion or narrative. The plot revolves around a US Army general who stole dangerous gas rockets and took him hostage in Alcatraz. In order to resolve the situation, the FBI connects Mason, who managed to leave the impregnable fortress, and chemist Stanley Goodspeed. The scenario is dedicated to detailing the process of saving innocent victims and preventing a global catastrophe. Action movies are not always distinguished by the branching of the script, but there is a difficult moral choice here. Globally, a film about how the army takes care of its soldiers in peacetime, withholding social benefits. Veterans of military conflicts cannot find themselves in peacetime. Post-traumatic stress disorder and corresponding phase shifts develop. In the film, a man of great intelligence went to the crime, which makes the audience of this action think about different facets of patriotism: people who love their country and watchdogs who follow orders. The latter from this point of view, in my opinion, look like absolute evil. The relationship between Goodspeed and Mason cannot be ignored either. Both became reluctant partners, both sometimes behave like old spouses, the best badi-movie films and the director's creative debut breathed.

Visual criterion or technical support of the tape. Since we have a blockbuster in front of us, we should start with such a moment as 'entertainment'. And last but not least, it is formed by camera work. John Schwartzman sets the frame in such a way that the viewer savored each explosion. It should also be noted the staging of action scenes (fights, chases, gunfights), and one of Michael Bay's iconic tricks - a 360-degree camera tour of the faces of the main characters. The visual storytelling is also backed up by a cool soundtrack and composing work. After all, none other than Hans Zimmer composed here. Each melody sounds on time and fills each frame with the necessary atmosphere, by increasing the suspense and the level of dramaturgy. And a corresponding note about the replenishment of the music collection and wallpapers for the desktop.

I am more than impressed with the acting. Nicolas Cage is still in good shape here, and although the role of Goodspeed does not require a deep immersion in character, the unbearably talented tribe reveals the humorous side of his character well. The voice of Stanislav Kontsevich suits him. Sean Connery is already a master of screen art here and is trying on the skin of an abandoned agent and how no one could understand the motivation of the main villain, but he has a slightly different temper and it is felt. He justifies his every appearance in the frame with charismatic views. Even David Morse was able to get in here. And even playing the villain managed to show reasonableness. And to complete the block about dubbing actors, let's mention that here was one of the first works of Alexander Bargman, Valery Kukhareshin wrote David Morse and, surprisingly, the union happened.

As a conclusion. After the success of this film, Bay began to be trusted with big budgets. Here is the perfect combination of a thriller about the military and a spectacular action movie, the third act is especially rich in action. Special thanks to the creators for the presented emotions. In addition to all the typical signs of a blockbuster, the ideological message here is correct, and the acting is excellent. I recommend it to fans of Michael Bay and connoisseurs of action movies. All health, peace and good cinema!

The Fall (I) (2013–2016)
7/10
this is not a detective
7 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A lot of good stuff has been written here. Therefore, in my review I will try not to repeat myself, but simply to give an idea - who should watch it, and for whom it will be a waste of time.

First of all, this is not a detective at all. In the presence of all the usual attributes of the detective genre, the main thing - a big secret and an exciting disclosure of crimes - will not. Here, the perpetrator and the victims are immediately known. In terms of genre, this is more of a psychological thriller. With a strong emphasis on psychology.

Secondly, there is little action here, or at least tense moments that are simply familiar to criminal productions. Relative to the total timing, they are less than 10% here.

Since the drama is psychological, almost the entire plot is devoted to revealing the characters, although you do not immediately understand that this is the main goal of the creators. Moreover, both main characters - the investigator and the criminal - are real psychologists. True, by profession only a criminal.

As for the investigator (Anderson), she is absolutely no cop. In the course of the plot, he does not demonstrate not only the outstanding qualities of an interrogator, but even elementary mandatory professionalism. On the contrary, he makes unacceptable, sometimes downright wrecking mistakes. But, being a psychologist by vocation, he quickly and accurately characterizes the criminal. The latter gives her pathos.

The maniac criminal is the main and most controversial character here. Clever, charismatic, tragic hero, creating cruelty that is hard to explain. The main attention of the viewer is riveted to his thoughts and actions. It may seem to someone that he is not brutally brilliant enough, like all sorts of Hannibal lecturers. And in my opinion, the emphasis on simple philistine character traits gives the hero more realism, eliminating the feeling of a purely cinematic monster.

Yes, and the police, of whom every second character is here, behave quite believably. Both their individual weaknesses and the general imperfection of the system are revealed. This cannot but rejoice against the backdrop of most movie plots, where the cops are mostly valiant and brilliant.

Also in the series there are several interesting intermediate lines with minor characters, very well embodied. In general, the characters and characters are well written here. Everything is in its place.

The ending of the second (currently last) season looks a bit ambiguous. On the one hand, all the plot directions received their denouement, on the other hand, there seems to be a hint of a possible continuation. Nevertheless, there is no feeling of incompleteness, all questions have been answered.

Summarizing, we can repeat that the idea is far from a detective story. Especially in its classic British sense. Relative to the crime genre in general, there isn't much novelty or twists and turns here. Smooth, unhurried psychological drama interspersed with a thriller. Interesting, deep characters and a good cast.

MythBusters (2003–2018)
10/10
Who are they?
21 September 2022
Can you get out of a sinking car? Is it possible to dive underwater to escape from firearms? Can a bird break an airplane windshield? Can a castle be destroyed by shooting at it? Is it so easy to take candy from a child? Are elephants afraid of mice? Can you light a match with a bullet? Is it possible to put your fingers in molten lead (at a melting point of over 300 degrees) and remain unharmed? Which is worse: drunk driving or sleepy? What is electrical tape capable of?

Where is the line between truth and fiction, reality and cinematic special effects? They will answer any question, disassemble any riddle to the smallest detail, clearly explain the 'how', 'why' and 'what to do', because the myth busters can do everything.

Who are they?

Energetic Adam Savage. He is one of those people who is constantly learning something or trying to learn new things in order to later put it into practice. There is no object that he cannot create with his own hands. Unflappable Jamie Hyneman. Special effects specialist, engineer, mechanic, excavator operator, crane operator, designer all rolled into one. All professions are subject to him. Jamie and Adam, complementing each other perfectly, make an exceptional duo.

And also... Imahara's Inventive Grant. An electrical engineer who knows how to create excellent robots. Cheerful Salvatore 'Tori' Beleci. Modeling specialist, designer. It is he who is most often used as a 'guinea pig'. Radiant Kari Byron. Metal processing specialist, welder. Their trio is in no way inferior to the duet of Jamie and Adam.

Destroyers test absolutely any myths for strength, whether it is a video of a crazy 'kamikaze' from the Internet or a popular action movie, any fantasies of the audience, popular opinions and even sayings. They always present something exciting and curious, show a new application to familiar things (phenomena), irrevocably capturing the attention of the audience. They never set limits, they try to do much more than necessary, they always surprise and constantly make people laugh. The world is so filled with secrets that there will always be work for these people.

Bottom line: a fun, educational program, from which it is difficult to break away.

As sad as it is, Back to the Future 3 is the final film in a great series.
11 September 2022
As sad as it is, Back to the Future 3 is the final film in a great series. Every time I watch it, it becomes a little sad, because the characters of Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Crispin Glover, Thomas F. Wilson have become like family to me, and I don't want to say goodbye to them at all.

The last film of the trilogy is the most extraordinary, because here all the action takes place in the Wild West, and, accordingly, the picture has become mostly a western, but not without a fantastic component. All the same beloved characters are present in the frame, but with a funny change - Thomas F. Wilson (Biff Tannen) now plays his ancestor - Bufford Tanenna, the famous bandit. This is the beauty of the plot, because in fact in the entire trilogy there is only one obvious negative character, and with the name Tannen!

Also in all the films is the famous Hill Valley cafe, which is in all time periods of history, and in 1885 it was a saloon!

Very fortunate in the third film was the fact that Emmett Brown found a lover. And found successfully. Mary Steenbergen played the role of Christopher Lloyd's Clara - a little absent-minded, completely sincere, sweet and fond of Jules Verne. Only such a woman could win the Doc's heart!

Of course, at the end of the picture, you feel sorry for the time machine itself. Although Doc Brown made convincing arguments about the dangers of time travel, but in three films she became very dear and close to all viewers. And how delightful it was to see Doc Brown come back from the past, which would seem already unthinkable, in a new time machine-engine and with his family to boot!

One cannot but mention the outstanding music of Alan Silvestri, which ranks among the best soundtracks in the world. When the title theme starts to play, goosebumps immediately run through the skin, because it portends amazing adventures and exciting action!

Back to the Future 3 is a must-see and recap, because such pictures are becoming less and less common and you should not deny yourself the pleasure. And in the case of Back to the Future, it is guaranteed to be! Sit back and fly at 88 miles per hour!!!

"Back to the Future 2" is the best sequel in the history of cinema!
11 September 2022
"Back to the Future 2" is the best sequel in the history of cinema! The best series of the trilogy, and probably the most iconic film of my childhood. Robert Zimekis and Bob Gale did an excellent job of closing the opening ending of the first film in the most effective way with their two (filmed at the same time) sequels. "Back to the Future 2" does the impossible, it reimagines the iconic and just perfect original.

All my favorite movie moments happen at the very beginning of the movie. The future shown in "Back to the Future 2" is probably the most beautiful and wonderful of all shown in the films. The future reminds me of the improved and enlightened 80s with flying cars and with the technical revolution at its maximum. It is shown not as depressive, as we say in Blade Runner or A Clockwork Orange, but as positive and cheerful.

These 20 minutes of Marty McFly's future adventure (not counting the scenes at Jennifer's house) is just one mind-blowing movie moment. Seriously, everything looks so great, I would give anything to be in such a future, walk along this Hill Valley, go to the 80's Cafe, have a glass of P-Perfect and fly around the city in a car time.

The general mood of the "bad" 1985 is filmed very well, the city resembles one of the largest and most criminal districts in the United States. The ending is no less interesting, the connection with the first series, it becomes possible to look, so to speak, into the cut scenes of the first film and look at the story from a different angle. The final scene is also unique, Thomas F. Wilson plays wonderfully. Beff is probably the best school bull ever shown in the movie.

"Back to the Future" trilogy (and especially the first 2 series) is like one big and most important film of my childhood. I remember for the first time I watched the first and second parts, probably somewhere in 1991, while still in kindergarten. These 2 films shocked me so much that even today, after many years, I can watch them endlessly, and they don't bother me. One thing is clear, unfortunately, no one will shoot anything like this. All new sci-fi blockbusters look nothing compared to the Back to the Future trilogy.

"Back to the Future" is a film for all times, for any age and any audience.
11 September 2022
Time travel is the most illogical and, at the same time, a truly inexhaustible and incredibly fascinating topic, a bottomless barrel of plots for fantastic cinema. "Back to the Future" is one of the best science fiction films in the history of cinema, shot on this topic, a real cult of the genre.

However, it is almost impossible to determine the genre of this picture. This is, perhaps, the standard of how to make a film, the plot of which is based on so many genres: comedy, fantasy, drama, adventure, and even a thriller! The element of each genre is carefully calibrated here and fits very harmoniously into the overall style of the picture.

"Back to the Future" is a film that is subtle, smart, deep, incredibly thoughtful and, at the same time, very light, bright and stylish. Only Zemeckis could show, in such an easy and elegant form, essentially very serious things: the lack of mutual understanding between parents and children, problems in the family, the formation of character and the desire to change one's life for the better and make a decisive choice - to be weak all the time, no matter what. Not capable, a whiner and break down under the blows of fate or proudly stand up to his full height, overcome fear in himself, overcome himself and give back to his offender. "Your future is not written anywhere - it is what you make it!" - the key thought that runs like a rod through the whole trilogy.

A wonderful plot, a magnificent script thought out to the smallest detail, absolutely deservedly nominated for an Oscar, excellent directing and very high-quality technical performance complete the picture. Cinematography, editing, sound, visual effects - everything is done superbly. And, of course, it should be noted the legendary and recognizable from the first notes of the soundtrack by Alan Silvestri, which fits perfectly into the visuals of the picture and the brilliant acting.

Michael J. Fox is the perfect Marty. Nimble, charming, resourceful, cheerful guy with a sparkle in his eyes and a great sense of humor, always able to stand up for himself, despite his small stature and Doc Brown performed by Christopher Lloyd is no less charming professor, very humorous, a little silly and eccentric. Together they form an incredibly funny and touching tandem and cause real delight.

The rest of the actors are not far behind - they all played wonderfully, very organically fitting into the plot. There is not a single "sagging" frame and not a single superfluous character in the film - each character, even the most insignificant, is verified and thought out to the smallest detail. By the way, it's funny that in the trilogy the then very young Billy Zane, Casey Semashko and the very young Edijah Wood "lit up".

"Back to the Future" is a film for all times, for any age and any audience. It will never lose its relevance and magical, magical appeal. This is a journey into childhood, to breathtaking adventures and journeys that so excite the imagination. This film can be reviewed an infinite number of times - and each time you experience indescribable delight, experiencing adventures with the heroes of the picture. This film will make a great addition to any collection. A timeless masterpiece. Classic.

The sequel to the rather successful action movie in 2002 significantly added to the budget.
18 August 2022
The sequel to the rather successful action movie in 2002 significantly added to the budget. Thanks to which he added to the entertainment. True, the plot stretches and improbability became even more.

Frank Martin moved from France to Miami, where he became a chauffeur for the wealthy Billings family. One day, the couple's little son is kidnapped and Frank has to use his skills again to get him back and prevent the kidnappers' insidious plan.

Like the first part, the picture is built on the charisma of Jason Statham. In his signature role as a tough and laconic hero, he is, as usual, very good. Here he fights much more than in the first part and the staging of fights is quite decent. There was now no love line, although Mrs. Billings gave very unambiguous signs, but our Frank stoically endured this and limited himself to an offer of friendship.

The rest of the characters are much less memorable. The main villain, played by Alexandro Gassman, is somehow not impressive. But his sexy and dangerous henchman Lola looks very impressive. François Berlin also moved from the first part with the comedic role of the commissioner. In addition, the rather famous former heavyweight boxer Shannon Briggs is present in a small role.

In general, a very decent and dynamic action movie, somewhere slightly inferior to the first part, but quite watchable.

Interesting story.
18 August 2022
I liked the movie as a whole. He's interesting. Action-packed. Not limited to one genre. And most importantly, it makes sense. And this, from my point of view, is very important. It is important to understand what exactly the creators of the picture wanted to convey to the audience. In this case, I got it. And it pleases. I'm pleased. And after watching, you realize that you have not wasted your precious time. And got acquainted with the history. With an interesting history. Where there is adventure. Dangerous Adventures. Adventurism. Action dynamics. And also there is a place for human relations. To reveal human relationships. And, in my opinion, this story is, in a sense, instructive too. Therefore, I am glad that at one time I watched this tape. And I think that it deserves a positive review. Because the plot is good. The execution, that is, the acting, is also generally at a high level. And the events in the movie are developing in such a way that when I watched it, I didn't get bored too much. Almost all the actions in the film developed rapidly. It was interesting to watch this. It is felt that the one who stands behind this film worked. And he probably tried. And he did his job, in my humble opinion, well.

"The Last Frontier": A Hero of Our Time.
18 August 2022
A film in which complete opposites coexist on the screen, which, as you know, have the ability to attract, Jason Statham and James Franco. Behind the camera is television director Gary Fleder, and Sylvester Stallone himself acts as a screenwriter.

Honest and noble policeman Phil Broker was one of the best in his field, but left the service due to insurmountable differences with his colleagues. However, even a few years after his retirement, Phil is not in danger of a quiet life due to his stubborn disposition and desire to always do the right thing and protect his family.

"The Last Frontier" is not burdened with additional storylines or hidden moral dilemmas. None of the above is here. Everything is extremely simple and clear: there is a hero without any flaw and he will fight against the bad guys. Claims for insufficient cinematography and an overly simple script are simply not justified. "The Last Frontier" is a movie about a hero understandable to everyone, a hero who does good deeds for everyone. This is probably that special genre of action that almost no one is interested in now. The directors of most of the films believe that the viewer expects "cool" fights and chases from the action movie, otherwise who is at the center of the story is a tenth matter.

What can be considered a rather big drawback of the picture is the work of the operator. Theo van de Sande did not succeed in dynamic scenes: shooting angles change too quickly, which causes some inconvenience; and in some static shots the camera suddenly loses focus. This cannot be explained by insufficient professionalism, Mr. Sande is more than an experienced cameraman, most likely, such a shooting style was chosen, where everything is somewhat blurry and not centered.

Sylvester Stallone, you know, is not just a funny man of venerable age from the Expendables franchise, as most of the younger generation of viewers know him. Not at all. Sylvester is primarily a cinematographer who wrote the script for the brilliant in its simplicity film "Rocky", in which he himself played the main role. Most of Mr. Stallone's career has been given to unpretentious, but ideologically correct films in the action genre. Actually, his "Last Frontier" came out the same way.

In addition to the big name Stallone, the poster also includes Jason Statham and James Franco. Jason again performs one of those roles that he especially succeeds in - he is what is called a good guy and just a real man. Statham, perhaps, could act as the author of a manual on performing tricks without an understudy, since he fights on the screen with amazing skill. Franco as drug dealer Morgan Bodine is simply charming, the last word you can apply to his character, but it's true nonetheless. James endows any of his characters with his own character (even if it is an episodic role, as in "Icy" or "Lovelace"), which makes it clear how good he is at his job.

Let many believe that "The Last Frontier" failed, and did not come out impressive and breathtaking. It does not have incredible visual effects and epic clashes, but there is a hero. Although Phil Broker is uncouth and rude, and does not have graceful manners, but he is real. Like the ancient hero Hector, he never doubts for a second where good is and where evil is, and he knows exactly what to fight for.

This film is ill-bred like a herd of monkeys
18 August 2022
This film is ill-bred like a herd of monkeys, dirty like a wild barbarian, aggressive like a crowd of rockers. But, damn it, he inserts (always did not like this word, but here it is more appropriate than ever)!

After the session, I couldn't go home, but why go there, I couldn't even go - I ran! I wanted to punch someone who wouldn't look at me like that, gouge the hell out of the entrance door that wouldn't open! Incomparable, almost primal surge of strength.

And, interestingly, you understand with your mind that the plot is completely standard, there are no special effects, the acting is mediocre (but what charisma!).

And what gives such a stunning effect? Crazy camera tricks that would have seemed nauseating in another movie, the frenetic pace of the narrative, the blackest impenetrable humor and the completely crazy script!

Naturally, the blood, sex and rock 'n' roll, of which the film is full, can disgust someone. Yes, sometimes. But if you are not embarrassed by such 'little things', then be sure to go to the film - you will not get such a drive in any other movie.

Transporter 3 (2008)

Luc Besson has recently been trampling
18 August 2022
Luc Besson has recently been trampling his once glorious name into the dirt with such frenzy, as if there were some obvious reasons for this only to him. The scenario of "Transporter 3" seems to be written by an automatic plot generator with such input parameters as the number of distributions of cradles, broken cars and a kilogram of cosmetics on the face of the protagonist's companion. And this generator, like an electronic translator, sewed together some semblance of cause-and-effect relationships from the most common stamps with white threads.

The main problem is that we usually watch films alive, well or not, but versed in human motivations. And the story of how a certain criminal gang led by an arch-villain performed by Robert Knepper holds hostage the daughter of a high official in order to obtain an autograph of this in one document dubious for the country's ecology would not be so monstrous (one can forgive this childishly unshakable faith in force of the signature), if the aforementioned arch-villain hadn't been impatient, instead of a typical basement or abandoned factory kidnapping, to drive a poor girl across Europe with Jason Statham, who was forced to drive due to a bracelet exploding at some distance from the car. That is, for some reason beyond the control of logic, the kidnappers expose their undertaking to colossal danger, knowing full well from their own experience that this "danger" can make a crowd of ambals of any size spit with their teeth and remember their mother.

The character of the hostage, performed by Natalya Rudakova, whom Besson accidentally met on the street, is revealed with special grace. A nauseatingly red-haired girl (Eric Cartman's precepts are recalled with a kind word) spends half of her screen time eating wheels, drinking vodka from her throat and demonstrating the habits of a provincial whore, and the other half, with a sad look, talks about her gastronomic addictions, crowned with infinitely beautiful Kiev cutlets.

And now it would seem that everything is the peak. But no, in the finale, instead of a decent denouement, Besson simply takes and effortlessly destroys the conjuncture that he imposed on us over the previous hour and a half, actually signing up for the worthlessness of his own work. At this moment, I really want to see this person face to face and ask why it all happened? For the sake of the chases killed by mediocre editing and two completely identical fights? For T-Bag with snow-white teeth and a hand untouched by an ax? For the sake of the truly divine body form of Jason Statham, after the contemplation of which you want to spend the night in the gym?

The trailer has all that and a little more - a whole 98 minutes of free time to spend picking your nose or contemplating some not-too-designerly inventive ceiling, which will bring much more joy and benefit than watching "Transporter 3 ".

Rules Frank, never break the rules.
18 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The Transporter. The film, thanks to which once again admired Luc Besson as the creator of action films. All this drive, of course, we have seen in other films, interest arises mainly around the figure of a former military man, a carrier who does not ask too many questions, a certain Frank.

Commando and Rimbaud were replaced by heroes of a different kind of loner, people without an impressive muscle relief, people who are prudent, cold, smart (naturally, Diesel is an exception). Which makes me unspeakably happy. An example of this is the Carrier.

Neat, punctual person. Life, which flows measuredly. Help in robbing banks, transporting dubious goods, in short, not life, but a fairy tale, peace and grace. But one oversight, one unobserved rule, and again it's time to remember wartime. On the creative side, the film is excellent, lively, attractive.

"Rules are there to be broken"

Now consider its technical side.

Chases on the beautiful BMW750i were shot with a bang. I will not take into account the fabulous jump over a high stone fence, and a blunder, where from time to time the BMW either has two side mirrors, or one (it was the same in Taxi, where the Peogeot was either tinted or not). It doesn't matter, because the chase is the real drive.

The fights are no worse. Take, for example, a large mochilovo in oil with bicycle pedals on its feet or a fight in a narrow bus, standing ovation. But some complain about the fact that you can shoot a hero and not suffer, but no, twenty people throw pistols, and forward into hand-to-hand combat. I don't know why, it annoys these people. That's why they shoot such pictures with elements of a fighting game, so that you can see all the splendor of martial arts. I think so.

The movie that made me recognize a man like Jason Statham. Although he has been playing stone-faced uncles lately, the actor is still charismatic and emotional. (Watch "Evil Machine", where he is inimitable) It is very upsetting that "Hitman" did not appear in his performance.

Stethem's partner in the game, Chinese roofing felts, Japanese roofing felts (sorry for dullness), a former porn actress, in a word - none. Could find a girl, at least a pretty one. And the acting data, which is missing in the bud, is covered only by an Asian accent (to be honest, pleasant).

In general, in short: a good, popcorn, exciting movie.

Solid Adrenaline
4 August 2022
The cult spy action thriller 'Mission Impossible', like the entire trilogy, is one of the most famous spy action games in the world, on a par with films about James Bond, Die Hard, Jason Bourne and others. And 'Mission' surpasses all of them put together in all respects. No Agent 007 can match the charisma and charm of Tom Cruise, no Die Hard will give you such a portion of entertainment and adrenaline, no story about Bourne will be as incredibly intricate and interesting as the 'Mission Impossible' trilogy

The film differs from all its analogues primarily in a full-fledged team game. Here, Cruz is not trying to get to the fore at all, being just part of a cohesive command mechanism. Unlike all kinds of tough guys, Ethan Hunt, the hero of Tom Cruise, is well aware of the importance of the roles of the other members of the squad, but with all this, of course, he switches the main attention to himself, his charisma and charm.

The plot of the film is incredibly intricate, delighting us with constantly unpredictable plot twists. It is absolutely impossible to predict the development of the scenario, until the very end it remains unclear who is who, which heroes are alive, who is really behind all this and, in general, how it will end. The script, perfectly worked out to the smallest detail, immerses the viewer in the tense atmosphere of the film, forcing you to worry about the characters and try to unravel this incredible spectacle yourself. Colorful flashbacks help a lot in this, every now and then sending us back to the past, telling the true story of events that previously seemed to us to be something else.

At the very beginning of the film, under the opening credits, we will be shown a sort of cutting of frames and episodes of the film, flashing in a chaotic sequence. However, surprisingly, all this cutting does not contain a single spoiler, absolutely everything in it is not what it seems. And as soon as you think that you have solved this puzzle, how amazing scenario again, once again, will turn events upside down, playing a shock incredible twist with your mind.

The film's spectacle is also top notch, justifying both its budget and the abundance of stars such as Jean Reno and Ving Rhames. Graphic effects amaze the viewer's imagination with incredible tricks, forcing them to constantly scream 'Oh, my God!' from another dose of adrenaline, 'Wow! Blimey!'. It's breathtaking to see such an amazing picture.

A few words have already been said about the cast, here the selection of actors turned out to be chic, the best in the entire trilogy. Tom Cruise did an excellent job, Jean Reno created a beautiful image, all the girls and women of the picture look great, all of which turned out with a twist and colorful bright features. And they all played very realistic and believable, investing in their roles one hundred percent.

The film's theme song, like all of its sound design, is one of the film's biggest selling points. The chic, world-famous melody Mission: Impossible perfectly suits the amazing atmosphere of the film, is remembered, lying down on the ear with its color, melody and style. A wonderful soundtrack decorates the picture, bringing a special charm to the film and makes you want to watch the film again and again, and in full with the final credits, where the title melody sounds fully.

A masterpiece of world cinema, with stunning and spectacular special effects, an incredible scenario filled with shocking twists and turns that keep you in suspense until the very end. The video sequence is decorated with wonderful talented actors, and the musical arrangement, performed at the highest level, arouses complete admiration for the composer. A wonderful film, and one of the best works of Tom Cruise in cinema. A must-see for absolutely everyone, and, perhaps, this masterpiece will not leave anyone indifferent.

Greatest movie!!!
1 August 2022
It seems to me that this film has no minuses, let alone the plot and speech is not worth talking about! I went to the cinema for 'The Bourne Ultimatum' 2 times, I would go 22 more times, it's a pity we don't repeat films! This is just an unimaginable adventure, a picture of the highest class!

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) has changed over these 5 years of running around: he has undoubtedly matured - this is clearly seen in his tired, exhausted face, a little Russified (take a closer look at Matt in the first part). But he is still 'mobile' and invulnerable!

Part 3 introduces many other heroes, including the infamous 'Professional Killer Generation'! I really liked the mention of Marie, who is not in the story for almost 2 parts and the dry eyes of Jason Bourne! In general, I would like to draw special attention to this!

When reviewing the film (and this applies not only to part 3), you constantly discover new smallest details, whether it is the scene mentioned above or the moment the Audi A6 rear-view mirror is turned (I will not describe in detail, talk about the meaning of the scenes ... I think, everyone will find and learn everything for himself). You could say that about almost every movie though. Everywhere there are interesting moments not immediately noticed by the viewer's eye!

The third narrative has become a little richer and more colorful than the previous ones; it's difficult to talk about the first - after all, there are 5 years of difference: the budget is not the same - less, the cars are not the same - more modest, and after all, the first part differs from the next two!

Greengrass car chases and fights (with Dash in this part) towards the end still tired me. This shaking, flickering of the camera - nothing is visible: how does it hit, with what, where? It would be great to figure it out! But in general I am satisfied and still do not complain!

The soundtrack of this part disappointed me the most. Moreover, I liked it in the film, but when I got the OST and listened to it ... well, worse than the previous ones, but still good! Two words - 'an amateur'!

In general, the atmosphere of the film is already much heavier, a certain tiredness is felt (for this I adore this film, not a film, but real real life): you can see it in Bourne's face after another murder of his counterpart!

Loved the role of Edgar Ramirez (Paz), much more than Joey Ansa (Dash). Just Paz's surprise at the sight of Jason Bourne running at full speed towards him! He disliked Noah almost immediately (as did Kramer): sort of an aging handsome fashionista, the most elegant 'dude' in the CIA, probably a goat cheese omelet, all right! Dr. Hirsch is a notorious experimental scoundrel! Nikki has also grown noticeably, although her pleading at gunpoint in the second part still impresses me more than anything else played by her!

And the words Bourne said to Paz were very reminiscent of the speech of 'Professor' Clive Owen from 'The Bourne Identity'. Very symbolic!

Well, in the end: the film is simply breathtaking, for me - the best tape of the year! I would also like to note the good Russian dubbing! Very high quality!

Excuse me, I don't know what else to say ... And there's nothing more to say and there's nothing to say! Watch and enjoy! Here's what's left to do!

Preparation completed...
1 August 2022
One of the best fighters that has its own character, thus standing out from the rest, perfectly matched music, sounding moderately depending on the situation, an unpredictable plot, and much more.

It's rare to get successful sequels to good films, but in this case, both the first and second parts are good in their own way. Each of them is distinguished by its own character, which does not allow you to get confused where this or that scene comes from. The atmosphere of the city is well conveyed, everything is actually so gloomy, gray. The final chase around Moscow is great. True, crazy races around the city, with the participation of two professional killers, are rarely seen in reality...

As a result, we get an interesting, dynamic action movie, with elements of a thriller and drama, after which you will definitely be satisfied.

is a beautiful, modern, amazingly smart movie!
1 August 2022
In anticipation of the release of the third film about Jason Bourne, the novels about which were written by the talented writer Robert Ludlum, who died in 2001 after watching The Bourne Identity (he didn't die from watching, of course, he really liked the film, by the way), I decided to fill my gap and watch all released films about this 'relative' of James Bond.

The first thing that shocked me was the unrealistic realism of what was happening, Jason Bourne is a super agent, but not a superman, he is vulnerable, and in the situation in which he found himself, he is three times more vulnerable. The script is good, all the nuances and characters of the characters are perfectly spelled out. The fight scenes and gunfights are shot flawlessly, Franka Potente and Matt Damon played beautifully, and the background actors did not lose their faces. Dynamic music (led by the main theme - Moby's 'Extreme Ways') adorns this already flawless tape.

By the way, it was the release of the ultra-realistic 'The Bourne Identity' that prompted the management of the filming of films about J. Bond to change his appearance - all his fancy gadgets disappeared in 'Casino Royale', he, like Bourne, became more vulnerable, more humane.

Well, in the end we have a great film, a film in which action is needed not just to entertain the viewer or to justify the money invested in it, the action in it is subordinate to the plot and the main idea - we are always responsible for everything that we have done in the past. Damon's hero experiences a lot of emotions, starting to live anew, learning more and more new facts about himself.

Definitely the highest score, 10 out of 10.

'The Bourne Identity' is a beautiful, modern, amazingly smart movie!

Broken City (2013)

Movie for the evening no more
31 July 2022
The current mayor of New York, Nicholas Hostetler, who again runs for this post, hires ex-cop, and now private investigator Billy Taggart, to follow Nicholas's wife Kathleen, who, it seems to him, has long since cuckolded him. True, Billy does not yet realize what role he is assigned in the game of the mayor.

The film 'City of Vice' was filmed in 2013 by Allen Hughes, one of the brothers of the Hughes directorial tandem, who shot such strong films as 'From Hell' and 'The Book of Eli'. However, the 'City of Vice', the trailer which turned out to be much more interesting than the film itself, has already become one of the main disappointments of the current film season, failing miserably at the box office. Despite the excellent miscasting of the film, high-quality directing with a gloomy neo-noir style and the lack of a clear division of the main characters into purely positive and purely negative (in this film, everyone is equally good), after watching it one wants to exclaim: 'Is that all?!', because the plot in the picture, unfortunately, it is not particularly twisted, the denouement comes extremely quickly and predictably, although there are many prerequisites for an excellent political thriller in the film, but screenwriter Brian Tucker did not really bring the plot to greater completeness and thoughtfulness.

The only real plus of the picture was its cast, which includes Mark Wahlberg, who played the role of the controversial Billy Taggart, Russell Crowe, who appeared in a very atypical image for himself, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Barry Pepper. It is on the excellent acting of the actors that the essentially shaky construction of the film rests, because the characters played by the above actors are charismatic and interesting.

Cinematographer Ben Seresin shot the film in a dark and viscous manner, which skillfully anticipates suspense, in fact, its complete absence from the tape.

Not bad in the picture and the soundtrack, written by Atticus and Leo Ross and Claudia Sarn, sounding disturbing and tense in it.

So, 'City of Vice' is not the most successful example of a political thriller, without much intrigue and an interesting plot, which deceptively lures the viewer with an excellent cast. You can watch this picture only out of idle curiosity or if there is no better movie on the horizon.
