Thanksgiving (2023)
Is there something i'm missing?
Im so confused as to how there are so many positive reviews on here 😭 this movie was so bad it was laughable (and not in a good way). The acting sucked, the plot was boring, the scares weren't even scary, and the reveal of the killer was so lackluster. I couldn't tell if the movie was trying to be funny or be serious, but either way it just did not work. Also, Hollywood, please stop caring tik tok stars in movies. There are hundreds of talented people out in the world who are waiting for their big break in films, and you're giving movie roles to people who aren't even actors. *cough cough* Addison Rae *cough cough*
Buddy Daddies (2023)
It's more meaningful than you'd think
This series is absolutely fantastic. I binged the whole thing in two days. Who could have known that two hit men raising a child could tug at your heartstrings like it did mine. Not only is the relationship between Miri and her dads absolutely precious, but Miri's presence helps heal both of her dad's traumas. With Kazuki losing both his wife and unborn daughter and Rei basically having no childhood himself, with Miri in their lives it helps heal both of them, and it's beautiful to witness.
The plot is original and keeps you engaged, the animation is great, and the characters are so multi-faceted. It's a fantastic show.
Banana Fish (2018)
Probably The Saddest Thing I've Ever Watched
Banana fish is a masterpiece. The animation is gorgeous, the plot is complex and keeps you hooked from the beginning to the end. Every character is written so well and they're all multifaceted, especially Ash. Ash is a very complex character, and all though he's a street gang leader, you can't help but root for him and feel bad for him for most of the series. The character dynamics and the relationships between them feel so real and genuine. I watched the whole series in two days. It's a tear-jerker though. If you're gonna watch this, be prepared with tissues. You'll cry more than once, I guarantee it.
The Black Phone (2021)
one of the best horror films I've seen in a while
I love horror, it's one of my favorite film genres and this film is definitely one of my favorites. Everything, from the acting to the direction and plot, it was all great. Mason Thames, who played the main kid, definitely has a bright future ahead of him.
El páramo (2021)
Interesting, but very slow and boring
I'll start with the positives,
1. Great cinematography!
2. Acting was very good!
3. Very good horror ambiance, reminded me a little of "The Witch"
4. Interesting premise!
Now with the negatives
1. So slow. Took forever for anything to actually happen
2. Very Boring too.
3. Confusing. What happened to the dad? Did he die? Why did the man the dad saved in the beginning kill himself? Did he see the beast? Did the beast temp him to kill himself? Was there even a beast? Could the kid see the beast? Was it just in their imagination?
Scream (2022)
succeeds in paying homage to the original!
Very great movie! Acting was good, loved the diversity of the cast, some funny lines, good story flow. I liked how you could identify the parts of the movie that came from the original, but Scream 2022 was still original in its own way; it wasn't an exact copy cat of the original. Will definitely keep you entertained!
Tiny Food Fight (2021)
Terrible
This show is so bad 😭 it's so cringe and so stupid
how is this supposed to teach people about cooking? It's not informative, it's not funny, it's not entertaining, it's just plain stupid.
Fatherhood (2021)
Kevin Hart!!
Kevin Hart is easily the best part about this movie! He proves he is a versatile actor; who knew he could do so well in a dramatic role. The plot is simple yet very sweet and heartbreaking at times. I did think it dragged a little at some parts, but overall really great movie, with my favorite part being Hart's acting!
