The Last Man on Earth (2015)
It strated really well, but then...
I really loved the idea of a post-apocalyptic world told in a lighter funny way. I was amazed at how connected it seemed with, at least the idea of, the Covid-19 pandemic. The downside of it was the ideology remarks. You don't need to do that to make it a great series, and season 4 had this huge (yet another actually) ideology remark. I got bored with it, didn't even finish the season, and no wonder it got canceled. People want to be entertained during these shows, not doctrinated. Pity, it had potential to be a great show!
Toys (1992)
Too loony
I honestly don't get it: great actors, great staff, but horrible movie. The plot is interesting, and even the script, but the dialogues, and how people seem ok with being loony all the time is disturbing. I believe they tried to pull some of Willy Wonka's genius (classic Gene Wilder specially), but ended up exaggerating in having all characters being abnormal. I'm putting a few stars for the actors (obvious), photography and set (indeed beautiful) and that's it. Pity, what a waste of talent.
Red Dawn (1984)
Not historical, but surely could be
What an awesome flick. Great actors, great storyline, so realistic it seems like a real story. A great lesson if we don't pay attention to the tirany of others, our most weak will have to rise and defend us all. Inspiring!
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Stereotypes everyone?
Bad writting is what you'll see in this flick. Any OK animation depicts imposible plausible, but this movie aced the impossible implausible. Nonsense scenes, dialogs and high tech equipment being destroyed by confusion and water -- creativity zero. I gave 1 star for the art, and 1 for the voice acting. The forced ideology through (literally) the whole movie is boring at minimum.
