The Mule (2018)
Typical stamp of approval Clint Eastwood
What's not to like? Yes it's a slow burner, but it's intelligent, well crafted, thought-provoking, and the characters are well drawn, and wonderfully performed. Just what you'd expect from Clint Eastwood. My only slight gripe was the way the ending snuck up on us, felt a little rushed, but was NOT disappointed.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019)
Good one for the kids
Took the little ones to see this in their half term break, they enjoyed it so job done really. It bounces along fairly well, will never have the impact of say, a Toy Story, and not a lot in there for the grown ups, but like I say, good one for the kids.
Shed of the Dead (2019)
Zombie romp-tastic!
Watched this on a whim and wasn't expecting much, but was wonderfully entertained, a little bit politically incorrect at times but a hark back to good old British humour of bygone years, intentionally I think. Regardless, an hour and a bit of zombie fun, leave your brain at home!
Jaws (1975)
Cinematic Perfection
The older I get the more I appreciate what wonderful film making this was. Performances all round are almost too good if that's possible, but makes me a little sad that this level of acting is not seen too often these days. Jaws will always be in my top 10.
Donnie Darko (2001)
Horrifying (in a good way!)
Watched this when I was really young, probably too young, but it had a major impression on me, and still does. A classic.
