- TriviaThe stealth ship had a devastating close range rail gun. Rail guns use powerful electromagnets to accelerate projectiles to very high velocities in fractions of a second. In 2010 the US Navy built a rail gun that fired a 7 pound round at 10 times the speed of sound (7,600 miles per hour). Provided you have a good enough source of electricity, you could launch projectiles at relativistic speeds (close to the speed of light).
- GoofsWhen the Rocinante completes the docking maneuver with Tycho Station, it cuts to Miller floating in zero g, showing that when docking is complete, gravity immediately cuts in at 1/3 g. In actuality, gravity would slowly increase from zero to 1/3 g during docking maneuver, as the gravity isn't being created by the station, but by the spinning maneuver, which is being matched as docking is completed.

Expanse has upped its game in season 2.
The two thrilling episodes which opened season constitute some of the best sci-fi TV in decades. The raw immediacy of the scenes, the multi-layered building of plot, the variations in scale and pace, the fantastic visuals---all add up to a superb viewing experience. Having read the books, I would say this is a series which is more enjoyable if one knows the books. To be sure, the series does not slavishly follow the novels, but I would say the key themes, and even the key scenes are presented authentically. If one is nit-picky about the physics, there are probably things to complain about, but this show is far ahead of other sci-fi shows (or movies) in its attempt to accurately portray action in space. If you are a science fiction fan who loves science, and who yearns for the days of real exploration of the solar system--- then The Expanse is for you!
