California rockers Rival Sons have announced that their second new album of 2023, Lightbringer, will arrive on October 20th. In advance of its release, the band has shared the lead single “Sweet Life.”
The album news comes in the midst of Rival Sons’ current North American tour supporting The Smashing Pumpkins (tickets available here). Lightbringer marks the follow-up and companion album to Rival Sons’ Darkfighter, which arrived on June 2nd of this year.
Regarding Lightbringer, guitarist Scott Holiday said in a press release, “When you do two albums back-to-back like this, there are a lot of things to think about. The first record has to pack enough of a punch and tell enough of a story for the second half to have an even bigger impact. We balanced them out with energy and meaning, but the follow-up always needed to deliver a bigger blow. I think Lightbringer provides this.”
Vocalist Jay Buchanan added,...

The Original Django (1966) will be available on 4K Ultra HD with Texas Adios included on Blu-ray May 25th From Arrow Video
In this definitive spaghetti western, Franco Nero gives a career-defining performance as Django, a mysterious loner who arrives at a mud-drenched ghost town on the Mexico-us border, ominously dragging a coffin behind him. After saving imperilled prostitute Maria (Loredana Nusciak), Django becomes embroiled in a brutal feud between a racist gang and a band of Mexican revolutionaries
With Django, director Sergio Corbucci (The Great Silence) upped the ante for sadism and sensationalism in westerns, depicting machine-gun massacres, mud-fighting prostitutes and savage mutilations. A huge hit with international audiences, Django s brand of bleak nihilism would be repeatedly emulated in a raft of unofficial sequels.
The film is presented here in its 4K Uhd Blu-ray debut, with a wealth of extras. Also included is the bonus feature Texas, Adios on Blu-ray,...

In director Charlie Buhler and writer-performer Jenna Lyng Adams’ uneven, genre-bending survival-thriller, Before the Fire, the world as we're come to know it doesn’t end with a familiar bang or whimper. It doesn’t even end with a cathartic, transformative fire, though Before the Fire opens and closes with the fire of the title. It ends, like ours might, with a global pandemic, a new, lethal flu-like virus that figuratively, if not literally, stops the world, closing down airports, limiting travel in, out, and around the country, forcing the government to declare martial law, ultimately leading to a shortage of resources and the proverbial “every man, woman, and child for him-, her-, or themselves” scenario. Given that whole ongoing, possibly never-ending pandemic thing, it’s a scenario...

What could be more frightening than the possibility of sheltering in a place that isn't as safe as it looks? In the upcoming thriller Before the Fire, an actress must come to grips with the realization that her rising career has been halted by the threat of a deadly pandemic. Her reluctance to return to small-town living, however temporary, is multiplied when the place she formerly called home forces her to confront something she did not anticipate, which may be even more dangerous than a murderous virus. Jenna Lyng Adams stars, along with Jackson Davis, Ryan Vigilant, and Charles Hubbell. Charlie Buhler directed. The film premiered at the Cinequest Film Festival earlier this year. "What's the plan? You always have a plan..." An official trailer has debuted online for an indie drama titled Before the Fire, formerly called The Great Silence, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Charlie Buhler. This just premiered at the Cinequest Film Festival and is still looking for distribution. The plot couldn't be more coincidental with what's happening in the world right now. Which might be why they're releasing this trailer. When a global pandemic forces a TV actress to escape to her rural hometown, an intruder from her past proves as dangerous as the encroaching virus. "The viruses in the present and of her past both lurk around." Sounds extra frightening. Before the Fire stars Jenna Lyng Adams, who also wrote the screenplay for the film, as Ava, plus Jackson Davis, Ryan Vigilant, Charlie Buhler, and Tim Driscoll. Looks exactly like what you'd expect - a woman trying...
