Wow this episode 9 of "Tales from the Territories" called "Crockett: Evil Heels of the Carolinas" takes me back to the good old days as a kid growing up and watching wrestling on TV as from 1985 till 1989 this was my favorite and one of the most popular leagues as all of the wrestlers had chemistry and worked together and the foes were lights out with Flair, Koloff, and the 4 horseman! Watching the taped weekly shows of first "Mid Atlantic Wrestling" to "NWA" Pro Wrestling and "NWA" World Wide Wrestling, while expanding to Saturday night viewings as "World Championship Wrestling" on "WTBS", in which I would never miss a show! This was one territory that exploded with money and popular fame lead by promoter Jim Crockett who took the league mostly to the south with big events shows in the Carolinas and the Atlanta, Georgia area. Discussed in this episode is it's impact from Ricky Morton, Arn Anderson, Nikita Koloff, and Baby Doll, and mentioned is her impact as a beautiful valet and ring manager. Also spotlighted and mentioned is how the late great Dusty Rhodes help transform the "NWA" into a popular money making business with it's players and story lines. And Jim Cornette the most hated and beloved manager of all time discusses his legacy and impact on wrestling. Overall excellent great episode that brought back good great super wonderful memories of my favorite all best liked wrestling league that I grew up with.
